This 100X over, not only were we looking forward to the orion, you decide to announce one of the WORSTE mechs in battletech history in its place. a lot of people are theroughly pissed atm...
"The Quickdraw was originally built in 2779[2][3] as a competitor to the Rifleman BattleMech. In this respect, the model was unsuccessful. However, because of its excellent mobility, with a ground speed of 86.4 km/h and its jumping distance of one hundred and fifty meters, as well as its mostly short range weapons assortment, the Quickdraw is a powerful close combat 'Mech. It has one major flaw though: its light armor protection. With armor on par with most mid-grade medium 'Mechs, the Quickdraw is barely capable of standing up to heavier 'Mechs.[3] " -Sarna
Yall tell me how that's going to play out in todays meta, that mech is going to get ground to a pulp.
What the PGI defense force doesnt understand and i'm wondering myself is how the hell will they get 3 variants at this timeline? Still the PGI defense force will flock and say something on the ways of "they can invent variants!!!" yes they can but the question remains, why the hell this one? Why not a Black Knight? a Guilhotine or a Flashman? All of these have more then three variants with a diverse loadout. I'm glad we have a new mech but the choice of this mech in particular is odd.
My main gripe is the way the information was released, no oficial "the Orion wil be delayed because of..." which most of us would be sad but would understand after all the hype PGI made with it and the demand for it increased, but instead we have a "ohh look here is a new mech this month, we'll show him later on when we have the disposition and pearhaps if you children behave will share the info on hardpoints and variants just because"... Which then results in the following:

Went to buy the 30 USD pack of MC to get a
Rifleman Firebrand...
Looked at the Quickdraw bait and switch for the Orion...
Looked at the card number entered for MC...
Looked at Quickdraw, 5 ton lighter version of Catapult that we need like holes in our heads...
Looked at transaction for variation on mech I've wanted for this game since I started...
...and then canceled transaction.
Thought you should see how shenanigans like this can and do cost you money: no matter how badly I want that RFL, I'm not going to support developers so intent on shoooting themselves in the foot with both barrels every chance they get. FEEDBACK! Have fun with that...
EDIT I should also note that means I won't be playing MW:O much, if at all for a month or two. Am I ragequitting, no - it's beta, I'll be waiting for PGI to shape this heap into something worth releasing, right up until they release it, heap or no. Mainly, I was really looking forward to the Orion but more-so the RFL hero to save up for it and to make builds I could not yet make: but with the proposed releases we're getting there's no point for me to pay cash, play, and then save CBills for crap I don't want. See you folks on Neverwinter and War Thunder, where the devs actually give half a damn and know how to find their keisters without need of two hands and a map.

^This. I myself was going to buy the Firebrand tomorow. As a proud Davion the Jagermech is iconic for us and it looked like PGI was actually in the right path for a change. Then they do a gadjet backpedal the likes i've never seen and give absolutly no explanation why. I'm pretty sure PGI is on a major power trip that they dont even consider the community to be of worth of transparency, for them we are all ten year olds screaming their heads off because his/her highlander JJ's one shot killer has now camera shake (which i loved) and the hackers will be shown more easily, instead of 34 year old military veterans like myself that actually give a damn to some outdated concepts like word of honor.
Food for thought PGI.
