And you've paid how much for the Orion so far? it's just a ******* game.

WTF does that mean "you've paid how much for the Orion so far?". How much have you paid for the CW or 12vs12 or 3rd person view so far? I know it's just a f'n game. Trust me, I have lost no sleep from not getting the Orion this month. Guess what, my life is great! But I'm also not a sheep that just bows and scrapes and says "Thank you!" no matter what. If they disappoint me, I'm going to let them know. As I have done.

Did they ever give a date the Orion would be released previously?
Or is this community got it's thong stuck up it's arse again over forum based conjecture never confirmed.

Yes. As I have posted several times (as have others). We didn't pull June 18th out of our collective bungholes.
(Can I say that here? )

With the bitching that's been going around re the Orion being switched out, I fully expect them to not show the artwork for new mechs in the future until the month that they're coming out. I wanted the Orion myself, but christ, it sounds like a *****ing pack of demented four year olds got their chocolate taken away from them after eating a pound of it. Really people, look at yourselves...

Exactly folks, once you lower your expectations as to work product and communications it all seems ...barely adequate and why would anyone aim higher than that. I mean people are defending them, so obviously it's working. If you do barely adequate and people keep giving you money, what's the incentive. Like I said people even defend it.

It's not the "IS MadCat" it's a 75 ton mech that we get later not this month. Not a big effing deal.

A perfect blend of speed, armor and weapons + accessibility (that's something IS has to worry about too, unlike the Clans) of it makes it The heavy mech around.

Besides, they don't have anything else to use, anyway. Catapults, Jagers and that sort are all long-rang support, Cataphracts are Liao/Davion exclusive and the only reasonable heavies left are Star League (which they don't have) and unseen (whcih they can't use) designs.

Not that I mind, but anyone want to bet on an orion and victor hero mech before the actual mech release?

Sadly looks like orion will have a big honking center torso, max engine speed will make and break that mech.

Didn't break the Dragon.

Bryan, someone at PGI is in possession of a truly dizzying intellect. And I'm not sure that is a compliment!

Quickdraw, huh? So does that mean we are getting the worst Battletech weapon of all time? Single-Shot Missile Launchers? (Which oddly weigh as much as a launcher WITH a feed system, PLUS an extra .5 ton for the single shot of missiles?) I sincerely hope you guys skip or modify that variant.

Well, be curious how it translates. Seems to make my Dervish less likely as a Medium though. :)

Everyone just ignore Bishop. We all know he won't be happy with anything less than an Urbanmech. Unfortunately for him, there is nothing less than an Urbanmech.

As a heads up, based on Bryan (whether you believe him or not is up to you), he's the ONLY one working on 3rd Person.

Yet some how got it done before just about every major missing feature.

So you'd have to fire Bryan.

Which i'm not totally against mind you. But it won't happen.

But seriously, if he was the ONLY person working on it, how come everything else takes so long with a team doing it?

Maybe because 1 is one more than the number of people working on collisions, CW, you know...*squeaks looks at the stares of hate and dispare, hides under a box bellow the stairs*

They have the right to change the mech release date. It's their game.

This is true. And we equally have the right to not play it or spend another cent.

In other words, they need us more than we need them, so getting on our bad side is not a good idea. It's not like they're the DMV, where we're screwed if we don't toe their line. ******* us off is bad business, especially considering how shallow and needless their reasoning is for ******* us off. It was a completely unavoidable decision that, as this thread demonstrates, has done a hell of a lot more harm than good.

This is my ultimate point. PGI burned bridges for nothing. Zip, nada, zilch. They pissed off a whole lot of people for some intangible (and, honestly wrong) "metagame" excuse. What the hell? Seriously? Are you ******** me? Who the hell is drunk at the wheel of this company?

Well, that's a nice shitstorm.

Maybe it's PGI's way of rendering an otherwise bland and mostly-unknown mech as the Quickdraw popular in a way. I'm sure someone will buy it and name it ORION? in hommage.

I know I will, if the mech's not too ******.

It's true, which is why I said I am skipping the mech this month as I have no interest in it. Which means I might not play as much this month because I have 64 million C-Bills so I spent some to purchase a 3rd JagerMech (the DD). If the Orion was out, I'd buy 3 and play all month and into next easily. Well, 2 and wait for the Hero.

Actually you haven't posted a single source from a developer that states that the Orion was officially to come out the 18th, and not just a heavy mech (with the Orion being the only confirmed one with art).

You actually did pull June 18th out of your *** for the Orion.

I posted the link in a previous post ... but here it is again. They have updated it this morning, but before then, under June 18th it had Orion listed. If you look under June/July ETA you will still see: Orion (Confirmed June)

http://mwomercs.com/...updated-june-5/

Trust me ... We were not just making up June 18th as being the Orion release date. They had stated it.

Again, it's fine if they want to change things. It's just the poor communication and the "bait and switch" act that has angered most of us.

This is the issue

A date was given and we didn't even get, Bryans favorite 'my little pony' had triplets 5 days ago, delaying the texturing of Orions left Ventical, we desided that we could get the QD finnished and rather than have a month without a mech, we're playing switcharo.

People would (for the most part) have gone gee that sucks/blows etc, but thanks for pushing this out..

We got

Mech of the month The Qrapdraw

The oringal 3029 art work is pretty awfull, the experimental verison if they got rid of the autocanon head, wouldn't look to bad, its a Pinhead Highlander.

So after this rather big insensitively announced disapointment

we get 3rd party..

Now alot of us went overboard, which in many ways is counter productive.

However, and I've no desire to own play duke nukem, so I had no idea it was so bad PvP wise or that PGi were involved.

If they didn't listen to the testers there and they don't listen to us here..

I'm left shaking my head and wondering why they are bothering with a Test Server, and why should I waste time there and not be listened to

This - we had a specific month announced and confirmed for the Orion:

http://mwomercs.com/...updated-june-5/

And I have lost no sleep over the switch either. I just wrote up my dissapointment, and let them know that I -AM- simply going to vote with my wallet and stop playing and buying any MC till we get the Orion. PGI can track my stats, purchases and playing hours all they like, I, unlike other people, stay consequent. And stick to what I said.

I am annoyed, I am dissapointed, I vote with my wallet, and I let PGI and people know about my decision.
Nothing less, nothing more. Not childish, just bold.

Burned bridges for nothing indeed.

I don't -NEED- to play MWO. If I'm annoyed with the game or the developers, I will simply not play, not buy MC, not be an income for them, go play something else. Now I'm only one person, but if enough players do the same, it'll hurt them alot. But the players that just stop playing and buying MC will just move on to a different game and enjoy themselves. They're not losing sales. PGI is.

So here we go.
PGI, your communication is ****.
See you when the Orion arrives.

Of all the 60 tons mechs they could have chosen they pick this loser. The Galahad, Lancelot, Merlin or even the Champion would have been successful.

I want MWO to be successful but sometimes I think the Three Stooges are running the project.

I don't see any dev post saying the Orion is coming out in June, just theory by a user.

Furthermore, the list of mechs by concept art

- 31/oct/11: Atlas, Hunchback and Jenner.
- 23/nov/11: Dragon
- 28/dec/11: Catapult
- 25/jan/12: Centurion
- 22/feb/12: Commando
- 28/mar/12: Awesome
- 25/apr/12: Raven
- 09/may/12: Cicada
- 23/may/12: Cataphract
- 06/jun/12: Stalker
- 20/jun/12: Trebuchet
- 04/jul/12: JagerMech
- 18/jul/12: Spider
- 26/sep/12: Flea
- 17/oct/12: Highlander
- 07/nov/12: Blackjack
- 19/dec/12: Orion
- 24/may/13: Victor

The order of release

Jenner
Hunchback
Catapult
Atlas
Commando
Centurion
Dragon
Awesome
Raven
Cicada
Cataphract
Stalker
Spider
Treb
Jagermech
Highlander
Black Jack

Mechs out of order by art -> mech.

Dragon, Catapult, Centurion, Commando, Spider (and therefore the Treb and Jager as they came after), Flea, and now the Orion.

Anyone who says that they've been misled because of a picture being posted needs a reality check

Sigh... Tiffany cufflinks shat and again it's overshadowed by cynicism.

WHAT?! A shuffle of Mechs!!!! No one bothers to assume something about it was not ready for release and herald the decision to offer a replacement rather than leaving the shipment empty?

WHAT?! 12 v 12 delayed again!!! No one bothers to assume testing it might be better served on the test servers than on the public ones to avoid the whole "this is broken garbage how can you foist this upon us!" diatribes?

WHAT?! 3rd person moves forward!!! As if no one knew this was not still in the hopper nor appreciating the fact that it's AN ELECTIVE OPTION and actually will work as a filtering mechanism to help separate the serious MW players from the more casual players?

Nothing but wailing and gnashing of teeth...

You're an *****.

Go ahead and get angry. Let that sensation of annoyance wash over you. How dare I lob a personal attack at you.

Okay, now take a deep breath and get it out of your system.

1. People are annoyed because PGI isn't giving them the Orion, and instead is substituting in a lackluster medium mech 60 ton Heavy (my bad) they just decided to reveal days ago. They didn't inform us there were new mechs which should have been an event to celebrate but their team turned positive PR into a blunder. People are upset with PGI's inconsistency.

2. People are mad that no matter how much time PGI seems to spend on this game, they can't deliver long-promised features. When they say something is only 30-60 days away people don't trust PGI to deliver.

3. Third person continues to move forward into the game despite vocal opposition from the community, and goes against PGI's own development promises since "that was their position at the time.

The community is upset with PGI because they have proven themselves to be inconsistent, uncommunicative, unreliable, and outright deceitful.
