LOL ... I'm glad that you feel PGI is doing a terrific job. Hopefully you can give them enough money to keep them afloat.

I usually do not post here because the mix of aggressiveness and whine contest is not to my liking.

Still, I want to express my irritation about one thing. Communication.

I was one of those looking forward to the Orion being implemented. Now, without explanation or any word on when it will come out we get the Quickdraw instead.
I understand designing a game can be unpredictable. Time-tables are more wishful thinking than fact. Things are ready when they are ready. Ok. Fine. But why announce something then?

Do you think people will be angry and leave in droves if you do not announce a new feature each month? Guess what, they are angry now.

Do not get me wrong. I am not irritated because I do not get my new toy. I am irritated because we were told we would get the new toy. And we don´t.

So either don´t make promises or keep them. Making them and not keeping them will automatically result in the default "they just wantz me moneyz!" reaction of players.

This looses the company quite some credibility. I am not feebly threatening PGI with a rage-quit, but if their marketing department is worth its salt then it will most likely know how much credibility is worth in terms of $ and €. Especially in such a contested market as onlinhe-shooters.

Please rethink your announcement policies. It would save quite some digital ink.

I genuinely cannot recall, off the top of my head, a company with which I have had direct interaction that is more inept than PGI in handling customer and public relations. It's truly astounding how incompetent they are in terms of human interaction.

Based on the way they go about business, it makes me wonder if they actually have a marketing department. We hear all the time how small the company is and how short-staffed they are, so my only guess to explain their incredible bumbling is that they have some socially mal-adapted computer programmer doing double duty to handle their PR in addition to his main job. I really, honestly have no other explanation because any schlub who has worked customer service as a retail peon, even for a month, knows that PGI's amazing talent for miscommunication, bait-and-switch, and outright obliviousness is the absolute antithesis to the proper way to build consumer confidence and trust. A proper marketing director (or hell, intern) would and should know better than to pull these kinds of stunts.

Get your **** together PGI. If people are pissed at you because they don't like your game decisions, that is one thing. You cannot please everyone in that respect. But if people are pissed at you because your communication is atrocious, because you build expectation and then crush it with sudden and poorly explained decisions, and because you show a blatant disregard for your customer (the people who fund your paychecks by supporting your product) then that is an egregious error on YOUR part. That so much forum space is dedicated to this company's inability to communicate, rather than the game itself, is absolutely inexcusable and need not happen at all.

I was feeling so good about the game's direction after the latest patch, but this crap put a very sour taste in my mouth.

You guys should have a PR team screen your official posts so you can keep your message positive without causing unnecessary face palms. We already have Jump Jet-gate going on. Now you just added Orion-gate and revived 3rd person-gate to the top of the list. Like some other guy said these official informative posts are becoming just obnoxious.

Mech releases have been one of the few things stringing along most players despite the weapon balancing roller coaster and bugs. To change what everyone is expecting is just asking for it. If you have a reason that you can't release the mech then state it.. like it's not designed to our satisfaction yet or some other reason. Don't introduce stuff we aren't asking for and expect applause.

Adding the part about 3rd person in 30-60 days is just ... OMG! We all know it's coming but don't release timetables for ridiculously polarizing features (stuff people hate). It just gives them a reason to quit now.

I'm disappointed that information about Community Warfare was totally absent from the post. We were all expecting 12x12 by June since it was dangled around for May or June release. Anyhow you guys should iron out the kinks the best you can by July 4th and give us a MC bonus sale so players will want to buy MC credits and spend money on the game. And hopefully by then you won't have another totally unnecessary announcement fiasco, but hey you guys don't learn so I'm looking forward to it.

Many of you are being children. PGI never stated which mech would come out at what time, and they can change their minds as they see fit. You just assumed they would follow your order of release. Now get realistic plans change all the time and they don't follow your assumed order.

Actually they did. But I'll know in the future to disregard whatever they say because they can change it at anytime. That's fine.

Actually they didn't. The only mech I have seen stated for release in June is the Quickdraw. If you have a link to the contrary by all means share it.

Orion was bumped by one cycle (3-4 months). It will be the next Heavy.

My emphasis. Orion was indeed supposed to be the next mech in the cycle. Bryan himself confirms this by stating that it was bumped, ie its position in the release cycle was moved because they felt that a mech no one knew about, and few even wanted, "fit the meta better" whatever the hell that means.

Basically, PGI says "hey playerbase, we know you REALLY wanted this mech, and we even originally scheduled giving you this mech, but, hey, **** YOU, we're giving you this piece of **** instead because reasons."

That's bush league. Can you imagine if Apple demo'd a new iPhone and then, 2 weeks before expected release, they crapped out a new Shuffle because . . . well, because? It would not be pretty. Companies are not our parents or our governments. We don't need to just shuffle along like good little peons, gratefully slurping up whatever they give us. They done goofed BAD with this bait-and-switch, and effectively shattered the consumer trust of a loooot of diehards: aka the people who actually buy MC.

That doesn't mean they told us that would be the next mech. It could have been bumped before they even told us the medium -> heavy -> assault -> light release timeline.

Which is why people are disappointed. When you work for Hooters and the waitress who does the best is offered a Toyota but instead gets a Toy Yoda, there is room for disappointment.

With the bitching that's been going around re the Orion being switched out, I fully expect them to not show the artwork for new mechs in the future until the month that they're coming out. I wanted the Orion myself, but christ, it sounds like a *****ing pack of demented four year olds got their chocolate taken away from them after eating a pound of it. Really people, look at yourselves...

I posted the link in a previous post ... but here it is again. They have updated it this morning, but before then, under June 18th it had Orion listed. If you look under June/July ETA you will still see: Orion (Confirmed June)

http://mwomercs.com/...updated-june-5/

Trust me ... We were not just making up June 18th as being the Orion release date. They had stated it.

Again, it's fine if they want to change things. It's just the poor communication and the "bait and switch" act that has angered most of us.

Sorry Boss, but I think that's done it for me.

Community warfare and Finally having something to do and having your merc corps mean something was the only thing that I was looking forward to before clan tech. Screw the mech chassis, miscellaneous fluff, and all that other crap.

I will officially be taking a long break once my premium time runs out.

To put it better for you, since you don't understand it quite right:

The Orion is the Inner Sphere Mad Cat/Timber Wolf. Everyone was excited for running it and it would fill a great place.
However, instead, we get the Quickdraw which would best be compared to the Hornet. It's not pretty, it's not good and 90% don't even know WTF it is.

... and this is coming from a Dragon lover for whom such a mech would be a great fit.

I think the fact we haven't even seen the mech redesign doesn't help it much, either, since Quickdraw is also a pretty ugly mech.

Quickdraw add more to the current meta game? Really? Since there are so many Dragons running about successfully punishing enemy mechs with drive-by dashes across the battle field. High pinpoint alphas completely cancel out lower tonnage mechs in their class. It will be the same for the Quickdraw.

PGI, Devs, and anyone who has a hand in bringing this game to us, I just want to say thank you. Sure your views on what needs to be created for the game and the priority they take may differ from ours, but if not for you, I would not be enjoying a MW game at the moment, and others would not have something to complain about. I like little surprises you guys drop on us. So some peeps were looking forward to the miniatlas the orion brings to the table, but hell, any new mech is fine with me, it helps to keep other chasis from becoming stale.

Do not listen to the negative ninnies, or even the brown nosers, just know that those of us who do not post often on the forums, your biggest group of players, loves what you are doing, thank you again.

Sorry for the spelling errors.

Did they ever give a date the Orion would be released previously?
Or is this community got it's thong stuck up it's arse again over forum based conjecture never confirmed.

Me to, still doesn't make acting like a child reasonable. As for how the Orion will act on the ground, probably like a cross between the Cataphract and the Awesome. It's not the "IS MadCat" it's a 75 ton mech that we get later not this month. Not a big effing deal.

According to someone, yes. They have the right to change the mech release date. It's their game. Very few people like the Quickdraw. I surely will be skipping over it. I'll just have to wait 3-4 more months for the Orion so I can buy the Hero mech as well.

Not that I mind, but anyone want to bet on an orion and victor hero mech before the actual mech release?

Sadly looks like orion will have a big honking center torso, max engine speed will make and break that mech.
