Poptarts arent even supposed to be viable according to the Devs, who have repeatedly stated that JJs are designed primarily and most importantly for mobility.

And yes, LRMpocalypse is underway, time to dust off the 8T missile boat.

None of our internal testers reported this issue, but we will be monitoring this thread as it ruminates.

Possible Workarounds:
A ) Turn on lights.
B ) Sit further from your monitor.
C ) Take a 10 minute break whenever you start to feel ill.
D ) Ginger capsules or other anti-nauseants can be effective. Consult your field medic.
E ) Don't press Space.
F ) Un-equip Jump Jets

Not just using for sniping, but using JJ's in general, has made me motion sickness.

If PGI would just tone it done some, right now it's very violent.

I have to say, I was really liking the idea of cockpit shake for jump jets. Pop tarting needed to have some more skill injected into it to make it viable.

But wow... my head is still spinning. I feel like I've been sailing the high seas in rought weather all day after two matches! This definitely needs adjusting.

It'll get toned down in the next patch per weight class, but as far as I'm concerned, a 90 ton mech shouldn't ne soaring through the air smoothly blasting people for 45 damage accurate alpha strikes from 600+ meters away. 70 tonners either.

JJs should just work like they did in LL. Big shaky jumps for getting in and out of combat and up big obstacles.

If theres this " - Weapon fire spread - Aiming weapons is randomly offset while jump jets are active." why do we need to have a shaking crosshair? If they want to give a graphical clue to the spread why not just widen the crosshair like every other shooter in the last 10 years?

Mech's are supposed to be able to fire while jump jetting.. In the books mech's would jump jet and shoot down from above, and in TT it is only a minor negative to hit.

I'm pretty sure they will turn the shaking down (without touching things like the reticle shake), the devs wanted to show all those jump tards the biggest "f*** you" they could possibly pull off right now.

@Ashnod: you call a +3 to hit modifier MINOR???

From Sarna

"Jumping makes a 'Mech harder to hit, but the accuracy of weapons fitted to the jumping 'Mech is also adversely affected"

Adversely, definition
1. Acting or serving to oppose; antagonistic: adverse criticism.
2. Contrary to one's interests or welfare; harmful or unfavorable: adverse circumstances.
3. Moving in an opposite or opposing direction: adverse currents.
4. Archaic Placed opposite.

The shake reduces the amount of time available to accurately line up on a target. If it were still, you could line up the shot before releasing the JJ. It would make the effect nothing but window dressing.

Thats a point but i still feel that it looks horrible, just add more spread the longer you burn JJs that decreases slowly but please get rid off the shake. Wider crosshair as a visual clue, you hold JJ key crosshair slowly widens and tightens on the way down. I would be fine with crosshair shake/cockpit shake on a non softened touchdown though.

This would look better, help people that have issues with motion sickness and strenghten the feel off weight on touchdown while accomplishing the same thing.

Not a hint of motion sickness between me, my two brothers and even my father.

I smell hidden poptart ninja's doing damage control.

Because they are soft in the head, to put it mildly. It doesn't take a whole lot of functioning brain cells to figure out that introducing a game "feature" that makes people sick is a Bad Idea ™.

30 seconds into trying the new JJ change, I started to get a migraine. I don't play first person shooters in general because the high speed movements cause me headaches. Mechwarrior moves at a pace that is a lot slower and doesn't cause me problems. Now, today it did. The reticle shake is fine. The screen shake is ridiculous and made me woozy. I stopped spending money on this game a couple months ago behind another silly change. Today I'm think I'm done. It's one thing to make silly changes. It's another when the change can make people sick while trying to play. I tried out Neverwinter and I like it so far. Guess my money is going there.
