These betas are done to:
- Test the game on a huge variety of hardware.
- Stress test the multiplayer back and frontends.
- Evaluate balance.
They really don't do and aren't expected to do tester-esque things. Real testing involves doing things like shooting a laser at a wall for 4 hours to test for a crash condition.
THIS ^ I agree 1000% that this is the stage where PGI is... In fact the staggered beta keys is typical of a server load / assess / tweak / load cycle. They are simply dropping in beta batches, monitoring server load and if good after x number of cycles they drop another batch on top of the previous ones... It's called "compound load analysis." I do this on our servers here all the time...

I've been a good forum member. I've dutifully averaged 3.5 to 4.0 posts per day... My post topics have generally been constructive and thought provoking (Except for that PSA zinger that backfired in my face... but I digress) I've pandered to the devs... Granted, not the gushing over zealous fawning some have embarrassed themselves with... But they noticed me... I've got a few likes and profile visits to show for it... I've got a healthy "like" count. I've generally behaved myself and played well with others (Which is really a reach for me)... and I've tried to help noobies and gronards alike...
Why the brush off?
I've played all the MW games... I've been to the old Battletech center in Chicago... I even watch that stupid BT cartoon when I was young... Where's my kudo?
Random my butt... I'm being black-listed... I know it. I've felt the way the rest of the community looks at me... I've felt to cold stare of disgust. I've accepted the caustic undertones uttered in my presence...
You all should know that I know that you know that I know.... I wasn't born yesterday.
Okay... I'm willing to play this game... Even though I DESERVE a beta key... for the good of the community and the sham we call fair-play... I will silently wait for my beta key like over half our community members are doing... I will refrain from mentioning I DESERVE A BETA KEY and will cease insisting that "I" receive any special dispensation...
That said... the devs need to know that I know where Canada is... I've got Google, a vehicle that could theoretically make that trip and a passport... I'm like only 825 miles, 100 rest stops and a case of Monster away from you guys... I like camping.
I'm watching you guys...

I agree 100% DaZur, you DESERVE that Beta Key... in fact, you deserve two of them. (That way you have one to share with me!)

I've said before and I'll say again....I LIVE IN VANCOUVER! Their Office is only a few blocks from MY OFFICE. Dammit, i WILL go to their office and buy them pizza for a key if i have to!

The smart way would be yes. I have also for a few games and was able to find some bugs that could have effected the game in both small and large ways.

I believe you just fell into a sarcasm trap. You may wanna slow down on chastising DaZur when I'm sure, just like the rest of us, he's waiting -probably borderline impatiently now- for the open beta that comes out in just over a month. LOL

And that's some straight-up bullshit. I have no idea where "Founder's Packages are purchasable" translates into "Open Beta", but I sure as **** do NOT want to live there.

Whoa!.... hey, leave the crappy small town I happen to be living in for now alone. That was just uncalled for. But I suppose that's typical, ain't it?... Anyway, if you haven't read around the forums here, you'd know that the Founders' packs don't even go on sale til then... and I got my dates mixed up. >.> No matter, I'm busy until open beta anyways... But leave the this space between Butt and f*** alone, they've done nothing to you lol

That guy is SCARY good tracking down violators. He's magic.
And I quote ..
"-I love hunting NDA offenders for breakfast.

Actually a few of them managed to shoot themselves at their foot by posting request for help with "patching errors" in these very same forums.
I do hope that frees up some of the Beta Slots for the rest who will actually heed N.D.A. like most of them are.

On June 7 & 8, the Big Blue Bubble Beta-Testers participated in the Labatt 24 Hour Relay in London, Ontario. The Labatt 24 Hour Relay is an event to raise money for the Children's Aid Society of London and Middlesex.
This year the event raised approximately $175,000, including the $1,500 that came from participation of the Big Blue Bubble Beta-Testers.
Arriving in the early morning Saturday, the 24 member team struggled through the heat of the day, never losing its fighting spirit even when being demolished at the Tug of War. Teammates rallied around each other when exhaustion hit in the middle of the night. After a much anticipated Pancake breakfast, the team completed their last laps and celebrated with a nap.
The team sprinted into the Top 10 out of 52 dedicated teams, completing 70 2.5 km
