Bought A Stalker. Worse Than I Expected.

Stalkers are also amazing in the fact that the way they mount their PPC's allows them to show much less of their mech while still being able to fire.
It's why right now there is almost nothing you can do to fix Awesome's because the model itself is fubar.
And PGI keeps releasing more and more really out of proportion mechs even now.

So you think PGI does fine in terms of balancing? Like make a LPL generate more heat than a freakin PPC?
They could just have tweaked the LPL heat for their internal testing to bring it in line instead of breaking it for the whole community.
I have A LOT of gaming experience and I am pretty sure that I have a pretty good insight into basic gaming mechanics.
Just read my thread before trolling.
No I don't, but since I've never faced the challenge of developing a game I have no place to call them imbeciles. I bet you think Duck Hunt trained you to use a Fire-Arm too, huh? You're "Gaming Experience" equates to about {Richard Cameron} in real world development of video games. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... Actually, no I'm not. Go to school, get your degree in game making, come back here and give proper feedback. If not? ****, sit down and play the game because no one cares about your opinions.
Stalker 3F- "Got a new pilot today, Static Cling...or something. All he does is stuff PPC's in my hard points and alphas until I puke and overheat. Then goes and post on a dead horse topic about how broke they are... What a ****** Hobo... My life sucks."

Just cos you hate one weapon and want to nerf it for everyone else doesnt make your statement correct.
No they are not. Just saying stuff doesn't make it true.
Read my thread, linked above, to get a detailed explanation why.
Or scroll some posts up to get the short answer.
How is a LRM boat better in general than a balanced Layout? Or a 4P with 9 MLs? I eat them alive with most of my Mechs.
The ONLY boat in the game which is a big issue is the PPC-Boat.
EVEN AC/20-JM6 have the big drawback of a very limited range and a slow bulletspeed and are therefore good Noob-Bashers but not that interesting for competetive play.

I even opened a huge thread adressing those problems and how to fix em:
http://mwomercs.com/...ance-this-game/
(Unfortunatly the mods moved it to "feature suggestions", the forum which nobody cares about)
PPCs are currently by far the BEST weapon in this game and PGI's imbecile Heat-Idea will do nothing to change that.
Until yesterday I didn't own a Stalker myself, because I considered them to be too cheesy.
But I had no idea HOW broken they actually are, until I rage-bought one:

I mastered DRG, QKD, JM6, HGN and AS7. This Stalker has only Basics.
And my next best KD with a sufficient amount of matches is my JM6 with 2.21. (I am slightly better than that, but I dropped a lot due to the malformed packet bug until it was patched)
This game is currently a Joke. Sitting in a STK is like playing an entirely different game. It's like slaughtering puppies.
This is not about bragging. This is about how retardedly one-sided the balancing currently is and how people with "normal" layouts and Mechs are in a huge disadvantage.
And no, I am not bashing Noobs all the time. I am also getting matched against top ELO players who stream and/or won challenges in the past.
I know that 44 matches are not a HUGE amount to draw a profound conclusion, but this is at least showing a trend very clearly.
Statistically speaking you are comparing a data set of 4 matches played by someone who now knows how to play vs. stats that include your noob days.
OF COURSE your stats in the stalker will be better.
The stalker IS the premier lots-o-weapons mech. It has its drawbacks too.. weakly armored, very big side torsos being one.
When the heat penalty kicks in you may see a drop in ppc stalkers.

I am acutally studying Computational Visualistics at the University of Koblenz, Germany to do exactly the thing you want me to do.
And to know if a given closed system of weapons is balanced or not, has nothing to do with software development, but with straight reasoning.
Furthermore I didn't call them imbeciles, I called their Heat-fix imbecile.
Besides that, my Stalker would never say such offensive things about me.

Sure they will be better. But this is not just "better", this is like from another dimension. My freshly mastered QKD has a 2.4 KD.

The gigantic side torsos are a strength because they soak up damage that would normally hit the CT. Additionally, damage dealt to destroyed side torsos only transfers 50% of it to the CT--thus letting the Stalker be an amazingly durable zombie.
The heat penalties will do nothing. All they've have to do is use 2 PPC and 2 ERPPC (the devs didn't clarify if ER and standard count as the same). Otherwise, they'll just go 3 ERPPC and mount some backup weapons (Miseries will use Gauss/AC20 and 2 ERPPC like they already do).

Good for you. Maybe one day you will grow up and learn how to offer YOUR ideas without insulting the people to whom YOU ARE offering them to. Until then YOU ARE just a bunch a QQ's on a forum page that will be forgotten before its locked.

sounds like you're mad because, like us, you are posting on the mwo forums at 9:30pm on a saturday night.
there seems to be 3 related issues here. stalker itself, boating, pinpoint damage all combining to produce a perfect storm of problems.

Calm down, king of the {Noble MechWarriors}. This is called criticism. If you think I insulted your precious darlings personally, because I didn't like their idea and made that clear, then you didn't get the concept behind that.

Well I can't argue with that, but I'm past the point of being angry at the game. Yeah, I did it in the past, I think we are all guilty of raging at PGI once or twice. But in time you realize(as most adults do) sometimes people try hard and fail. Giving them grief for failing doesn't improve your character and it certainly doesn't make the game change.
As for 9:30pm and posting. I work shift work. Evening shift to be exact. Maybe you were relating or maybe you were insinuating that like you... I have no life? I can't tell because it's the Internet and everything is taken sarcastically.

You wrote a page of rage ranting followed by linking a previous argument then called PGI imbeciles and "I" need to calm down?
LoL. Try again.

PPCs of themselves aren't a problem. Boating them is.
Very true, a LL stalker is an engine of destruction - the one caveat being that he has to stare you in the eyes while he flays you with lasers, whereas the PPC stalker needs only glance at you, tear a piece from your mech body, then resume lurking behind a hill.

Dude, you really need to learn to which word in a sentence a given adjective is referencing. Read my first post again and try to understand the basics of syntax. Where did I call PGI imbeciles there?

The plus side? Gigantic nose full of weapons. Seems fair.
