You're aware of the fact you aren't actually a Capellan right? You're an internet nerd playing space robot games, just like the rest of us.

No need to be chippy man, there's nothing wrong with folks getting into the lore. Hell, otherwise we should just go play the new Mechassault. I'm sure that's more on the "DudeBro" mindset for all the X-box Live players out there. (I am not implying that you are as such, just that they cater to that crowd).

Since the accounts have lapsed and the alliance is dead...

I flew against Goons for about 18 months in the great war. And while the swarms of doods was -and is- accurate for the time, more was going on that just swarms of noobships.

I can't remember exactly when beyond in mid 2008, and I can't be arsed to care enough to dredge it up, but Mittens posted a listing of upcoming Goon capital pilot numbers on CAOD. And they were already outnumbering us in caps on the field with other alliance members (Dirtyrussianbassids). There was a short sharp internal memo that boiled down to 'OhCRAP!' and a whole bunch of internal drama that amounted to 'LadyScarlet should never FC again'.

Propaganda from the Goons has always been part of the metagame, and they meta extremely well. They play to win. Ignoring my personal tastes about them, they are extremely effective in the metagame. Eve was a great indicator that when they they want something, they plan and allow for the long term to make it happen.

Accept that they're going to play this game. Nothing you can say will stop them. But my history fighitng against them has shown time and time and time again... they are powered by your tears and crying. And are better at trolling than you are.

That doesn't change the fact you shouldn't (read: can't in the game) break the alliance agreement between Liao, Marik and Kurita. :)

Look guy, I dont care about your fictional space alliances or what we can/cannot do because honor and blah blah blah. I want to take a Catapult (or its variant, the Bowman) and shoot at dudes who take themselves way too seriously.

Man I loved MechAssault 1. 2 was a little weird and I hated not being able to select my mech for multiplayer.
vvv exactly. Thats as silly as fighting spider robots while slipknot plays vvv

So one house has the goon's and others dont, realistically I cant see this as an issue.

:( :D

What makes you think they aren't joining other houses?

You don't understand "Meta-Game" yet... :)

But you will... :D

This is all rather quite fascinating to read. I have always been interested in EVE, but just don't have the time to give the proper level of commitment to the game (especially now with MWO).

From an objective and unbiased standpoint, from my reading (just spent two hours going through records and history of GS operations in EVE), I really can find nothing wrong with their previous actions.

MMO's and MMORPG's are a fascinating look into sociology, and to see an organization operate within the system they are given as well as being unbound by standard moral practices, their effectiveness online is impressive. From the disbanding of BoB to their most recent operation "Burn Jita", their operations should stand testament to what a well organized unit can do when the leadership elements are left intact.

Now, this isn't to say some of their tactics would not frustrate newer players, and I do not have the privilege of engaging them in combat yet myself. I also understand where some of the complaints are coming from. But I am not opposed to their presence and am very excited to see how they will function in the MWO universe. However, since I rather dislike aspects of the Capellan Confederation (all that green is hideous), if they are successful in bringing House Liao to power I will be rather annoyed, especially with Liao recruiting numbers up last week.

Operation: Steel Dominion specializes in categorization and community analysis. This will be watched.

I'll laugh openly here if it helps anyone. Though I'll be laughing at the 10% of the thread that:

Thinks they are actually a Capellan
Is angry about their space spreadsheet game
Is preemptively angry about their space robot game
Posts a response explaining why someone is wrong to call a mech a robot

The other 90% of you going "hey, let's play GIANT space robots!" seem like normal human beings.

Ha ha ha ha ha!

There.

Fixed it for you :)

If I'm stood in my giant space robot facing another giant space robot who's pointing guns at me in MWO and he's dumb enough to BOW then I'm kicking him, shooting him, giving him a robot wedgie, whatever.

Quit by then, deployments ate my free time. Not like a ceptor/hac/raider pilot could do anything against her immense ego and untouchable sense of superiority.

I dare say it wasn't her ego that I would have tagged as immense.

Look the only thing that matters is if they hate bronies as much as I do, and if they don't I hate them too.

Pssh. Don't take it too serious, then it becomes srs. Srs bad.

I mean, I just bloody well posted a canonical pink 'Mech, just to give the "OMG PINK IS BAAAAAAAD!" people a poke.

Bronies, goons, people tinkling in the sea of wee endlessly here.

Thanks for that reminder. Bleargh. We had a PrincessBeefcurtains for a bit. Thought that was a remarkably appropriate name, got a RO ban for suggesting a name change/swap.

OMG over 30 pages and still blowing up in my face, goons attract quite the crowd. Seriously I made the thread expecting a few hate remarks with some useful posts mixed in, Not a full blown DRAMA thats managed to stay in the most popular topics for the last 2 days. (although i am guilty of joining in... :) ) Although there is a reason I have both this thread and the SA forum both on separate screens while on auto refresh while i do other stuff... I can't get enough of it.

Your average goon weighs about 250 lbs so just thinking about the crushing weight of them all is scary as hell.

Considering the lightest anything on MWO will be 25 -tons- at this point, 250 lbs isn't quite so bad.
