When an official makes a call that had been used in the prior two matches also, its called being a poor sport to whine and name call till you get a rematch. The fact is Weebi didn't even try after he was forced to rematch after being declared a winner. Its not like the damage in the first match with him was a gap its was 86 to 54 meaning they traded blows.
So yes when you declare someone a winner and then decide because someone is ********* to revoke that its favoritism and caving. Weebi won fair and square from the rulings then the ********* began. And then I find out later that Weebi was not allowed to use certain mechs and was pushed into a jenner so his choices were limited and he used light tactics vs a heavy he out played Jager on every front the first match.

This is the first time a tourney like this has been done, and what we have all learned is that there's a need for certain rules. I have no doubt the ship will be tighter next time.
This was a fun tourney to watch, and I want to thank BA for putting it on. Looking forward to next time!

Weebi should never have won those other games. The admins messed up. Just check the rules in this thread. Once you chose a mech, you had to stick with it.

You miss understand when he was going to use a raven 3l he was told he was not allowed to use a mech that could use ecm.
The rules say no ecm not no mechs that can equip it.
Yes the officials screwed up two times, point is in any sport when an official makes a call and its a repeated call like in weebis case you can not reverse it. He played a light vs a heavy that is all about hit and run and keep at range. The officials made a call for 3 games in a row and to back down while calling a player a name is bad show period. If you can not see how that is bad and wrong I am sorry.
The rules need to be laid out more clear and enforced correctly and if enforced wrong they need to maintain the calling not what the rulebook says if its a repeat ruling, or have better overseers of the tournament. This is yet another reason I can't wait for CW as these player run ones can be biased and influenced in a unsportsman way.

Are more rules needed, of course. This was their first time throwing a tourney and they learned a lot already. I agree with Eric that they should not have re-instated the anti-tag rule after they ignored it for so many matches. They should have upheld the rule and let Weebi continue to tag for the rest of the tournament until he won just so they would understand the full implications of letting him break the spirit of competition.

Also I did find the enforcement of the tagging rule, or therefor lack of frustrating as well. I lost something like 100 damage to 80 to the jenner. Every time I got close enough on his seismic sensor, he just evaded. It was pretty lame. I would like to see the zones limited so more time is spent fighting and less evading by the smaller mechs.
All in all I thought it was fun and would definitely participate again and was happy with 6th place (I think) out of 32ish competitors with my ac20 cat. When I was eliminated I was slapping myself for not bringing a seismic sensor too lol.
As for name calling, there was none of that. Criticism was kept specifically to the issue of evading and why we thought it was lame. I think Weebi came back and represented lights very well. I wish I could have stuck around for the end however my gf needed some attention and I’d been on MW all day/night at that point lol.
Happy Hunting,
Maple
