What the FAQ says is that the Battlemaster (it's regular production variants) will be released on 22nd January 2014 for people who didn't purchase the Project Phoenix pack. They will be able to buy whatever the non hero variants of the mechs are for ingame cbills at that time.
The individual you quoted was asking about the 4 Phoenix variant mechs; these Phoenix "Hero" mechs will never be available again once the sale is over.
It's not clear based on your wording so I am going to clarify for you.
On Oct 15th you will recieve
1 Phoenix Variant (Think like Founders Jenner)
2 standard variants (Think like Jenner F and Jenner K)
Yes the Phoenix variant will never be available again, but a standard variant will be available with the same hard points.
Thankfully they chose the worst variants to make Phoenix variants in the case of the Locust and Shadow Hawk, so there isn't too much reason to buy the 20 and 40$ packs.

The Phoenix Variant is a template like the Founders variant. So yes of course it makes sense that Varaints with the Phoenix template (unique geometry, c-bill bonus, Loyalty bonus) wont be available again.
A variant with the same hard points will be available when the chassis comes out in their respective months.

Additionally there will be offerings of the "Wolverine" and the "Griffin" chassis at a later date.

Just give me my Wolverine and nobody gets hurt.

I of course intended standard chassis and the question wasn't specifically asking for available phoenix hero mechs at all

Don't get me wrong looks like a great deal but PGI will never get another DIME from me until they start fixing some things.
What happened to Knockdown , DX 11 , Boating Fixes, Heat Issues(lack of heat Penalty) , Atlas/Assault armor should be at 1K if LTs are at 200 +, Economy (Paying for REPAIRS and Ammo), Lack of MAPs, Community warfare, Matchmaking, Crashes....the list is long and PGI just offers something NEW to keep your mind off the real Issues........

I tend to agree with this statement. This game needs bug fixing and new content like maps, game modes some new mech or weapons, balancing game play and so on. I can see the improvement since i first tryed this game last year but andvances are too slow. I see more updates on MC items than anything else. I understand that PGI staff needs to feed their families and pay the bills ( i can respect that ) but i get the feeling that PGI is mainly focused on earning money than improving overall game expiriance (paying players and non paying players). I think PGI could deminish angry mob by giving somethin in return like cbill boost event or GXP boost event and not only "pay money to get discount on mech event". Why events are focused only on real money is beyond me. I have crashing issues and i think this is the only issue that bothers me. Ive fixed the files back and forth and i still crash couple of times a day. REGARDS! P.S. how the heck you go in the new line :DD

Really? So if you get your Wolverine you're not gonna use it to shoot at people?
The more honest statement would be: "Just give me my Wolverine so someone can get hurt while I giggle with childlike glee."

Personally though I was always more of a Griffin fan when it came to the classic 55 ton trio. Speak softly and carry a PPC.

That said, yay, THUNDERBOLT!

Produce, not release. Remember the extreme lawyer speak that PGI uses.
They're probably creating a buffer of mechs to release so that they can downsize the team when they have enough.

Some. It depends on where they are from - there are different issues with different sources.
These Phoenix package mechs are not Harmony Gold mechs, they're silly anime macross based mechs. Thus, other mechs from that source are highly likely to become available at some point.
As to others? Well, that depends. Probably a different set of issues, who knows? PGI has always been very quiet about it.

I imagine they'll move to a 2-mechs-per-month release schedule once the Clan mechs start appearing.
You *know* they'll precede the Clan release with a "Clan Invasion Pack" as per founders/phoenix, so that's 4 more mechs that'll need to be ready to go at Clan launch date. After that, I'm betting on 1 clan+1 IS mech per month. So, they'll need to produce 2/release 1 per month leading up to Clan launch, to get a good lead on production, then continuing to produce 2/release 2 after that.

Only time I wouldn't be surprised by a 4 mech simul release is if it's for Clans.

That said, I guess that we aren't returning to a 2mech/month format any time soon, and "launch" is October 15th. Still undecided if I'll buy in to this.
I thought launch was late summer which gives them until september 21st, are you telling us that launch has ALREADY been pushed back?
