Apperantly you can't sell any of the mechs in the package if you don't like them. Keep that in mind. (so mechbays are locked to those mechs). Makes the value kind of go down :/

I'm pretty sure that's not the case for the two standard variants that come with each package tier. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to sell the standard variants that you can buy with Cbills either.

I've seen the email response from Reppu, he states that the mechs can't be sold but doesn't differentiate between the Phoenix mechs and standard variants. I can see the Phoenix mechs being locked in like the Founders mechs, but it would be silly to lock in the standard variants since you can sell other MC mechs.

why doesnt the phoenix faq page explain if the mechbays are locked to the mechs?why do players need to dig through the forums to find out?

Well, despite my serious misgivings about the way PGI are failing to deliver meaningful content (maps, modes, CW) and are not listening to the community on balance, I still bought the $80 Phoenix package.

Hope springs eternal, I guess.

You should let your wallet voice your concerns, instead of making what you acknowledge is probably a poor investment should things not change.

Oooh... With the shadow hawk I could make a good rendition of the griffin as well. ^_^

Still haven't purchased...makes me a little sad. How long do I have after the early bird special runs out?

I guess I don't really care about extra loyalty points, and i've earned enough c-bills to buy the mechs. Maybe i'll just buy enough MC for mech bays and call it a day.

Welp. Fired off an email to support, support@mwomercs.com , asking for an Overlord refund.
I understand that it harms the game, but I don't have faith, given the lack of feedback from the people steering the ship, that throwing more money at the problem will make bad decisions go away. There has been little to no feedback against good criticism other than a #reassurance that the changes aren't going away.

It takes too long to explain why heatscale sucks truck nuts, so just read through the official thread in Comstar and come to your own positive or negative conclusion.
http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__2582353

Please let it be known that I made my purchase before recent gameplay changes were made.
I've lost the faith, pgi. What else can I say?

edit: The timing of my attempt at a refund is to try to do so before a probable cut-off point for early bird rewards July 25th, after which, the notion of getting a refund seems like it would be less likely.

edit2: If by some miracle there's a complete 180 turn on the game's direction and the constructive side of the community is actually listened to in advance of the hard cut off date in October, I'll probably re-order the 80 dollar package, even without Early Bird Bonus.

Succumbed and bought the package. Even though the latest patch isn't a proper fix the gameplay has been a bit more enjoyable. I also figure I have pumped way more into arcade machines in my day that I wouldn't mind paying 50 cents a game here. I will be ahead even if I only play 3 games a day until launch.

If you look up the models on Sarna they are shown as clan retrofits for those two while the shadowhawk is a star league retro fit. They may base them on older models with the slightly different designations but the exact ones they call out are specific hero mechs that had clan tech.

actually the battlemaster is a starleague era mech, it began production in 2633. the clan version does not come about until jade falcon captures a battlemaster factory during the fedcom civil war and they start producing their own version of it, the battlemaster-c. the red corsair battlemaster was a partial clan refit, it was a starleague battlemaster with only clan weaponary added so it could pose as a pirate.

Sorta been on the fence with this one. The final thing that took me over the fence was the Sarah's Jenner thing. So yeah, now I'm an Overlord too.

So... if there are only going to be 2xC-Bill variants of each Mech... doesn't that basically mean people have to buy the Project Phoenix variant if they want to master the chassis?

If so that sniffs of...

No. Quit sniffing the glue holding your tinfoil hat together.

Project Phoenix purchasers get 1 Phoenix variant + 2 standard variants per tier. They get all they need to master the chassis that comes with their tier in one go.

If you don't intend on purchasing a Project Phoenix package, and only intend on purchasing the Cbill standard variants when they come out, there will be standard variants of the Phoenix variants, just like there are standard variants of the Founder variants.

Example: Project Phoenix Tier 1 comes with a Phoenix variant LCT-1V(P), plus two standard (hypothetical) variants LCT-2V, LCT-3V. Whenever the Locust is released in October, there will be a standard LCT-1V, LCT-2V, LCT-3V.

Just like the founders have a JR7-D(F) special founder's variant, but there's also a standard JR7-D as well. Same hardpoints, counts as the same mech in the mech skill tree, minus the special bonuses.

I actually wonder if we get to chose which standard variants we get. If there are more than three total that is.

I bought the overlord package for project phoenix and got confirmation my money went through, but didnt receive anything from PGI confirming I bought it, and it looks like on the project Phoenix Page it doesnt show I own anything yet (and I could buy it again for example). After you bought it does the Project Phoenix page show in anyway you own any package?

Indeed, if you go back to the Pheonix page it should display the tier you are currently at (you can upgrade to a new tier until the sale is over)
