Project Phoenix Leaked

If the non-rotating waist would be too much of a change for programming or gameplay purposes, there were others from Star-League era that could fill the gap (and weigh-in at more than a mere 20 tons)
all things considered, It's very tempting. Unique variant with 2 standard variants for each phoenix 'mech; all with their own bays included; get them all together in October while everyone else has to wait for each chassis to be released and... get an early start on gaining this "loyalty"
Tempting, but I can still wait. No word on how long this deal is on, but the premium-time early-bird bonus lasts a whole month so I've got time to think it over.

By the outline of the mech, it's going to have these shoulders. Also, will have the Right Hand gun as well.

PGI could easily implement zero-torso rotation as is into the game. Simply make it so "Torso turn rate = 0" or "torso turn angle = 0".
A lot of mechs have different torso twist maximums; it shouldn't be hard to set them to zero.

But would you want to with the disadvantage of being a 20 ton light mech in this game? Would you truly want to have zero torso twist?

So what? Some people don't want to have the catapult with its ears or the awesome with its wide torso, its just another part of the design.
The "upside" of the Locust could be a massive accel/decel rate or turn rate %

0 twist would be rough. Classic image has that CT laser on a turret, new concept art not so much. Regardless, I suppose is could still act as a torso twist for purposes of aiming, or even just stay converged with the arms (again, if we go with "it's a turret"). However, that doesn't really help for spreading damage.
Wow this is a lot of theory crafting based on some art work... And good lord it's fun.

It means the Phoenix 'mechs look a bit different from the standard 'mechs that you can buy for MC - like e.g. the founder Catapult; it has a pointed "nose" instead of the square one the regular variant has.
So the Phoenix TDR-5S will look a bit different from the C-Bill purchasable TDR-5S.

Geometry as in geometric shapes; polygons. I look different from you even though we're in the same mech.
Have a peek. Founder's C1 with unique geometry (nose cone).
Non-founder's C1.
Two Atlases side by side. One is the DD-C, the other is the D. Normally Atlases are identical in terms of heads, but the D here is a Founder's with unique geometry (head.)
The 4 key mechs with the 30% bonuses are going to be available for cbills, but those cbill ones will look reasonably different from the ones available here and won't have the bonuses.

Q: Are the Project Phoenix Phoenix Variant and Standard Variant Mechs customizable in the areas of exterior cosmetic changes, loadout changes and/or cockpit customizations?
A: The Camo Spec, Loadout and cockpit customizations can all be user-selected and changed for the Phoenix BattleMechs and their Standard Variants.
think that is what you were looking for?

Sure is in the right direction, thanks. But the Camospecs can be changed on my founders hunchback too, if by camospecs you mean the yellow stripe.
