WOW the Thunderbolt looks awesome!! Looks like a Summoner!!!

To be more accurate, the Thor (Summoner) looks like a Thunderbolt...the mech it was based off of.

But would you want to with the disadvantage of being a 20 ton light mech in this game? Would you truly want to have zero torso twist?

Player 1: Dude! Don't run straight at them in a light!
Locust Pilot: But... I can't shoot them otherwise!

Graphs never lie

One would have thought that the slope would have been more exponential than linear.

So stoked to finally be able to drive a Thunderbolt in MWO.

I really have to say I think the designers have done a great job of retaining the classic feel to these mechs. I can't wait to see Battlemaster tomorrow.

Looks like these Phoenix mechs are where all the creative energy from your art people went that the Quickdraw was so sadly lacking.

Thus far really liking all the revealed ones so far, at least in concept art. I hope you guys can translate them into in-game models without losing most of the character. Shadow Hawk is one of my all time favourite mechs and you've really managed to capture its spirit while still keeping it fresh. Kudos.

Really not sure whether to get this or not. You're giving me what I want in terms of mechs and the promo bundle but.. at the same time, the fundamental gameplay and balance needs a lot more work to be fun again. Stuck between the idea of dropping more cash to get a deal and helping keep you guys funded with the hope of seeing MWO become the game it deserves to be and not wanting to reward you for your pretty mediocre-to-shoddy performance in many areas recently.

Guess I'll at least see how the next patch goes and keep an eye on new Command Chair posts (if any) for some indication of the direction you're heading on the path to Launch.

Sure is in the right direction, thanks. But the Camospecs can be changed on my founders hunchback too, if by camospecs you mean the yellow stripe.

Yes, when they build the founders mechs, their idea was that people would want to show off the unique color and not make any changes. Also, they were build before any of the camo/paint was available, so the founders mechs never had the ability to be painted in the first place. I'm assuming they won't make that same design decision this time around.

My Thunderbolt will be purple.

Nice, now all I have to do is wait for next payday... and getting over me not wanting to spend anymore till a few things are fixed...

that being said.

How's about a Stock Mode for those who want the feel of these nice new machines and not the PPC Gauss Meta? because that's all that Battlemaster will become, as well as the Thud... and hell the SDH for that matter.

in Mechlab under the Mech Inventory a subsection under Owned Mechs... Stock. under the Stock selection will be a Mechbay that mirrors your current owned mechs but in the Stock loadout, (paint/camo and all cockpit items still the same).

Selling or Purchasing New mechs will and or subtract them from the Stock Bays and no additional cost and provide nothing but an additional mode of play.

Under the Mode Select : Stock

The new Forum tags that will go with this... the possibility to have a smaller graphic for it(them) so that they can be shown side by side... along with the others that are sure to be handed out later on down the road when you offer even more things for us to throw $$ at and the tags that go with them.

Given how many people in this thread are willing to pay $80 for in-game eye candy I start to wonder how much could be charged for a game that actually included gameplay? maybe $200-300 or more?

I must be getting old, because the last game I bought was $60, for game that was actually complete and working.

I like mechs, but no way in hell that I am paying $80 so that others can watch my mech lob ppc rounds at other mechs at 800m, if 3pv was there, atleast I could see it for myself but right now I would have to trust others to say I look cool in my limited edition ppc-boat...

There are a few games out there that are into the $100's of dollars range. VBS2 is very pricey, and there is a tank simulator that is over $100 as well. Rise of flight, the best damn ww1 flight simulator available, charges any where from $5 to $12 per plane you own, but is free to play otherwise. So I would surmise that they will charge what ever they think they can get away with. The burden is on the consumer to not spend money on things they can't afford, or are wickedly over priced.

I personally think the mechs are not worth more than $5 or $6 bucks per variant. But then again, I'm not a huge multiplayer fan and would have rather just given them $100 for a good single player game with a mission editor.

Can you guys CONFIRM the Shadowhawk 2H has THREE ballistic slots? The spreadsheet based on data mining suggest it only has two.

Three-not-two is a big factor in this purchase being 'worth it' to me, since it makes an AC2/AC5 mech much more viable than a Hunchback.

Your package will be released to you Oct 15. That's everything you bought in the package. If Overlord you don't have to wait 3 months for the Battlemaster.

Here's Ice Cream Mech's (IMHO) overview of the Phoenix Dessert:

I'm serving a 20 ton, a 55 ton, a 65 ton and a ~80 ton Frozen Mech Treats.

Multiply those tons by 75 MC per ton, then .004 cents per MC (by the 29.95 for 6500MC package.)

Break that down to:

$6 Locust

$16.50 Shadow Hawk

$19.50 Thunder Bolt

$24 BattleMaster.

Totaling $66 for 4 Mechs with 30% bonus.

I also give you premium time and other perks for $14.

I'm all for these tasty treats, except the freezer could break down by October and it would all melt.

I'll likely pass this deal.

You left out that for each 'Mech listed, you also get 2 variants +'Mech bays.

Nah they're still there and people still complaining (rightly so).

It's just most here know that there's a difference and that Project Phoenix is totally separated from those issues.

The ones that can't grasp that simple concept usually sees those problems as being permanent and that PGI aren't working on them even as I'm typing this and try to use Project Phoenix as some type of leverage, not comprehending that once the offer goes it's gone for good.

So the only one that will lose out is the person that doesnt buy (and wants to) for reasons that are separate from Phoenix and that will probably be fixed in the next few months.
