The Shadow Hawk seems like it it will disrupt medium power balance and be pay to win in that field. It has 5 tons on cents, hunchies, and trebs, jump jets, and it seems like it will have good hardpoints.

5 tons often means a lot in combat, so putting this mech behind a pay wall for a month is actually pay to win.

3 ballistic, 3 missile, 1 energy. That makes for 1 ERPPC + 1 Gauss/AC/20. Nothing that an assault or heavy can't do better.

It disrupts the Medium Field about as much as the Atlas disrupts the Assault field and the Cataphract the Heavy field.

Take from that what you will.

I guess you're right, because the Blackjack really disrupted the gamplay balance of the Cicada.

non payers have access to the shadow hawk. Why would it be considered pay to win?

Because of reading comprehension?

It could of course be that the Hero/Phoenix version of the Shadow Hawk with its unique model is 25 % smaller than the non-heroic version, which would be a P2W advantage.

Maybe it actually looks like the shadow of a hawk, completely invisible at night even...

It's gonna be a cross between a Trebuchet and a Quickdraw. It'll disrupt power as much as any of the recent mechs have...not at all. No medium mech disrupts power in the game in the first place. Nor do any of the 60s, so you're just trolling.

Ummmmm.... unlikely. The five extra tons isn't adding THAT much. An AC/20 HBK will lack JJs compared to a SHD-2H and a bit of armor. The SHD-2H won't really be able to pack on MORE weapons than the HBK if it still wants the extra armor and JJs so it is only slightly better. If the model is slightly larger than the HBK that would more than make up for the armor and JJs.

Now you could throw an ERPPC and 3 Streaks on it, maybe even get it's speed up a bit, but then what else would you put on? 3 Machines guns? It can't boat LRMs like an HBK or TBT. It can't boat SRM6s like a CN9 can or zombie all that well.

I think it is a nice change to the Medium field, but not really overpowered.

If there was anything dealbreaking about SH in the medium field, it would be teh fact it's actually a medium and not a pocket heavy meaning it has very decent speed.

I hear it would be pay to win to have your forum privileges revoked for cash.

It will beat down the Quickdraw, 0.5 ton JJs .... but then it has that ballistic, don't know, since everyone and their mother can buy one without real money, i do not sense imbalance, the model won't be smaller, PGI is not that stupid.

At 55 tons the Jumpjets are only 0.5 tons. =)

So 1.5 tons for jumpers.

I like the hardpoint layout, it is going to be one cool running mech. Even if you don't up the engine and decide to use a 200 or a 225 you are still going to be highly mobile due to the jumpjets.

Thinking AC20, 2 SRM6's, 1 SRM4, 1 Medium laser, 3 jumpjets.

Seriously you had nothing better to do with your time than complain about this? About a Medium?

this is just such fail that epic doesn't even cover it

I like that the ballistic is mounted high on the shoulder. You don't have to expose yourself like an Atlas or Cataphract to make use of your ballistic.

The Blackjack wasn't better in EVERY WAY (well, except for one variant). The Shadow Hawk comes OMGWTF FASTER even stock...

looking at the information released on the shadow hawk and the hard point layout of it looks fairly underwhelming in my opinion. i honestly cant see any decent builds coming out of the except MG/SRM boats. possibly the odd 1 or 2 glass cannon builds.
