And adding a 3rd person option hardly makes MWO anything like MechAssault. If anything it makes it more like previous mechwarrior games.

Not to mention the fact that you can play in forced first person mode and third person won't even effect you.

Re: your first point - Baloney, it makes it just like Mechassault - non-immersive. I never played 3PV in any previous iterations of the game because I played in leagues that were forced first person view only. Do not forget that segment of the player base.

Re: your second point. Irrespective of the fact that a player chooses 1PV, if he is in a match that allows both modes, the players choosing 3PV will DEFINITELY affect the 1PV player. C'mon, what happened to your reasoning skills?

I enjoy this game and I like it, I wish to see it succeed and progress..

Unfortunately, the hand picked questions you chose along with the replies, just make it seem like things aren't going really well for this game.. There is no bearing or reference that shows this game is progressing,
Rather we feel like its in some sort of development mess..

I came here to play MechWarrior nothing more or less.. Where is this going to?

No you cannot since 3PV has not yet been revealed. Unless you know something the rest of us do not. We only have PGI's word, and you know what that's worth

Based on PGI's track record, don't count your chickens before they've hatched. We all know one thing - they change their vision as the money does.

aniviron: How far from your ideal state of balance is the game at this time? It's a hot topic on the forum now as always, but I feel that the game is the most balanced it has been since the launch of closed beta, even if it has a ways to go yet. Are there many things that you still want to tweak? What would your optimal state of game balance look like?
A: Ideal balance would be a middle ground where most weapons, mechs, and equipment are very useful in specific situations, and weak in others. We need to tweak a lot of aspects still, so we’re definitely not there yet, but as you said, we’re getting closer and we continue to chart a course to a nice balance.

AHAHAAH clueless person will be clueless.

Lol you win stupidest comment of the day.

Lets see,

mechwarrior:
1st or third
Mech customization

Mechassault:
3rd only
No mech customization

Mwo:
1st or third
Mech customization

MWO IS JUST LIKE MECHASSAULT LOLOLOL

And I hope PGI does forget you players. They don't need to cater to the whining QQ idiots that whine about every tiny change to their "sacred view"

The best part is where you called this game mechassault and then told him to get reasoning skills

3pv is fine IMO. Mechwarrior is all about enjoying the nice stompy robots, and paying big bucks for custom skins and colours without the ability to enjoy them in game is a little meh.

1pv with all the offline screens is not that immersive as I see it. As long as they keep the option of strict 1pv for league games I think we will all win in the end. And it will help with new player retention in my experience as it was one of the complaints raised by a friend I introduced to MWO.

WRONG!

Mech Warrior is about playing a mature and tactical FPS where planning, teamwork and strategy are valued.. Otherwise we'd all go and play Halo or COD.. Just in case you didnt figure that out yet..

3PV doesn't concern me, I dont care about it and I am against it, if it means changing and over-hauling the whole game's direction, just for the sake of somebody wanting see the paint job of your mech..

Such a shame PGI will actually buy into this..

And I'm sure you'll find mature teamwork and strategy once league plays is actually possible and not some effed up sync drop nightmare.

Playerbase needs to be maintained at a high level if the matchmaker starts to take faction affiliation as a parameter in CW. And if you don't care about it,then what's the problem?

Let's see how much of an advantage it actually gives "looking around corners" before we conclude that the sky has fallen.

And this is where you go into detail on how 3rd person somehow eliminates the planning, teamwork, and strategy in the game, and how in the flying **** 3rd person makes this game a single player only fps rather than the same mechwarrior we enjoyed 10 years ago.

That's not what my point is so please re-read my previous post properly before you come up with such an assumption as I am not bothered to re-translate my post for you..

The 'out of the gate' comment leads me to believe they will force mixing of the cues at some point.

TLDR " I have for no reason created a mental association with what I expect Mechwarrior* to be and somehow know what it's about. My attitude is a magnitude above Halo/COD players who I hate in vain and my QQ's obviously make me more mature. Now get the **** of my game and go back to COD. This is battlefield!... oh wait, I sound so #$@ ignorant.."

What you said is stated is accurate.

Neither is mine, but it sums up your attitude.

Mw4/Mechassault commoners in the lobbies were nicer and more mature than you.

Making out-of hand statements treating opinion like fact is just asking to be ridiculed.

I didnt treat my opinion like fact and its not my problem that you are assuming so..

Seeing the excuses people come up with with for 3pv is not too different than people who want this game to be edited, re-balanced and nerfed, taking this game to a far different extent to what it should be..

Like I said, I dont care about 3pv, I am not saying it must not exist but somebody saying the devs should dedicate alot of time and effort to integrate 3pv just because they want to admire their mech's paint job in-game.. Is not too different than those asking LRMS to be nerfed because they are not bothered to take cover behind a hill..

More PR/marketing double-speak.

We deserve honesty, clarity, and frankness. I don't think we're getting that, when you shotgun one-word answers and deflect any question that isn't an opportunity to stay "on message". Reading these "ask the devs" posts is like trying to wrangle a straight answer out of a politician.

Please, start taking more than 10 seconds to answer a question. Start taking on the hard questions. Telling players you "can't talk about" upcoming content is needlessly paternal and a little insulting.
