go ask almost any of the players running PPC's right now that avg 500-1000 damage and multiple kills a game, that is the smpliest and most significant change that would make us drop the PPC's and brawl again.
but guess we got movement adjustments instead. NP, ill get in my highlander and fly onto a steep hill where no brawler can reach me.
and when that gets boring time to shop for more ships at star citizen.

OWAIT!
They derped up the splash code and can't buff SRM damage until they underp it or they'll go back to nuking some mechs five times more than others for no good reason.
They do need to underp it so they can fix SRMs, but being able to walk up a cliff or not has nothing to do with it.

You're better off asking for LPL nerfs instead.

so they derped splash code about 3-4 months ago. an entire dev team can't fix splash code in 4 months...... so its either incompetence or ignorance.
they worked perfectly fine 8 or so months before that, just saying, not sure how hard it is it view archived patches and put the same coding in.....

Oh you mean that undurp that supposedly happened over a month ago with a said (By PGI none the less) damage increase a month ago. . Hell I'm fine with 2.0 damge. That or lower the fraggin heat and up ammo.

Or in other words, though SRMs need to be buffed (heavily) it won't solve the PPC-centric meta we're currently experiencing, and if SRMs get huge buff before said meta is fixed they may end up being OP after it's fixed, requiring another nerf/buff cycle.
So, hopefully, they'll boost them a little and do something to nerf PPCs, and then we can see where all the rest of the weapons really stand.

or simply drop the splash nonsense. Anti Armor missile are shaped charge. Splash should be minimal enough to not be a consideration (at least to anything with armor)
But that would be FAR too easy a fix, ya know?

I'd even be happy with 2.0 damage. About the only thing I am pretty adamant about is SSRMs should do .5 damage LESS to compensate for their insta hit/ammo conservation.

No it didn't. It did 3-5 times as much damage to some mechs. The real derp is that whichever genius designed the system hooked it into the homing mechanism for some reason, meaning that if you remove splash damage missiles more or less only hit CT. Currently there is a 'negligible' splash damage to avoid that.
PropagandaWar, on 02 July 2013 - 10:18 AM, said:
Nope. As above, they reduced splash to 'minimum amount before it breaks homing into horrible op-insta-core territory' and moved some of that damage to the main impact.
Again, it does need an increase. It just doesn't affect whether your mech should be walking up a cliff. Entirely unrelated issue, don't yell at them when they actually manage to improve something just because it wasn't the improvement you wanted most.
Edit:

As above. They tried. Every missile in the game hit CT in internal testing (yeah, 3s Jenner land, but it's their presented argument). Clearly they're having trouble fixing the moronic coding.
Oh. And that coding is unrelated, as far as we know, to not being able to move up a 45 degree slope as fast as a horizontal plane.

Versus doubled armor and without the possibility to aim shots.
Great move, PGI...

@PGI: open database > set SRM damage to 2 > reboot server > watch results
FFS this isn't rocket science

pre alpha, but i would put money on it that they release a functional game before mwo launches, even though PGI had a 1 year head start.
after months of losing faith in PGI, i finally decided to pledge over $250 to robertspaceindustries.com
