You Know Elo Has Porked You With A Bad Team When....

when you're in a Spider and you scored the only kills and top most damage on your team
when you're a DDC and your team sticks close to you for ECM cover but ALL of them run away as soon as they see a contact leaving you alone shortly before their whole team pop up
when you're an Atlas and you're brawling with 2 smaller mechs and spamming UAC5s, LLs and Streaks like crazy on them and your team mate in his medium mech thinks it's a good idea to run right into your firing arc. This actually happens pretty often. Your Assault is firing on a target for a while, very rapidly and a teammate decides to run into your firing arc blocking you. Like, you know, one could easily tank an assault mech loadout with the rear armor
when there are 3 Atlas on your team and 2 of them had less than 100 damage without any disconnects
when a friendly Atlas 'sneaks' around the fight to go for the cap and that Atlas has 0 dmg at the end
when there are 2 Lights on your team with LRMs. Bonus: one is a 3L

Well played! However, as a PUG I am less worried about the team winning as only the better team will win, than I am about how well I performed in the game. If I score 1-2 Kills and/or 3-5 assists and 300+ damage, I did good.

Sometimes I get a bit despondent when I lose a match and get <300 damage, then I remember there's only so much damage you can do in the three nanoseconds it takes the rest of your team to get themselves killed before the enemy all start focus firing on you

These are the main two for me.
Less than 100 damage in an Atlas can only mean that you're the greenest of the green. I suspect the majority of these are people that just dumped money on the game right at the start in order to play the "biggest baddest mech" straight away.
Before actually learning to play the game.
I see quite a lot of these.

I am cool with that as long as it applies to both sides. Had some fun matches with maybe 4 veteran players total and mostly noobies. But that is the exception. A more typical situation is a noobie team fighting mostly veteran players, even a premade or two. Terribly boring/frustrating depending on the side.
BTW, the trial mechs are actually OK this time around, especially the Atlas.

Clearly, Damage done is the only thing counting...
Wasnt ELO purely based on win/loose? Loosing with 800 Damage is worth less than winning with 100 Damage and employing tactics.

Lol other than that I love these forum posts of people trying to prove how awesome they are and spouting about how good their ELO is, even when noone knows it.
Oh and one more, when you are marching along in your shiny new atlas with your team around you feeling pretty good about the situation, when you see that little sign 'your base is being captured', and your WHOLE team turns and runs off leaving you, the slowest mech around, to face the entire enemy team when it rounds the next corner.

But the absolute worst trash scummy worthless mucus of the community are the premades who repetitively run cheese mechs. pretending that they're "practicing" how to play "competitively". Killing trial mechs in one hits for a chuckle, great job scaring off some new player who could have been a great contribution to the game.
PGI might have unfortunately and unintentionally given you the tools to be a total *********, that doesn't mean you have to.
If PGI gave you a gun, would you go out and shoot someone just because you can?

I so much love this franchise, but I'm afraid to break something if I play any more with this matchmaking.
@screenshots: I had those 1x times in a row yesterday.

i usually see the opposite problem. usually i'm in a medium (unless i feel like getting my jager fix for the day), used to do the "follow the atlas"- who is an lrm boat thing, so i try to catch up with the brawlers/heavies moving towards the fight at the front. see the base under attack message and think "well i'm furthest away from the base so someone else much closer should be heding back"- lose to cap- no one went back.
or "Base under attack" i RTB- 3 mechs there, die, lose to cap
or "base under attack" no where clsoe to the base- RTB anyway and get there at 95% captured- first one there
only time i see your scenario happen is "jenner pops up on scanners heading to base- everyone goes back" it's like if the mech doesn't appear on radarit doesn't exist in many cases.
at the point now where i just sit in the back of the group for the first two minutes or so of the match and wait for the light to show up and hope catching it capping right away might at least get some lrms thrown at it.
then about 5% of the time an actual light returns to base- oh that reminds me of another one "check team profile- 5 assaults, 2 heavies and a medium (me)- base attack message, teammate: LIGHTS RTB NOW!. Me (heading back): um we don;t have any lights..."- and usually between the two of us we can either kill the capper or drive it away- or in the case of the "uh-oh 3+ of them" stall long enough for other people to take an interest in the cap.

I love how some players are whining about using PPC's being an exploit when these same people were the ones running ECM when it was horrendous and are quite happily using the damned near game-breaking siesmic sensor.
