Limited arm movement? One of the iconic factors of the King Crab and the Crab is that they can fire 90 degrees left and 90 degrees right with the arms alone without having to torso twist (superior arm movement). The King Crab fits the AC/20s by splitting the crit slots away from the torso into the arms, allowing for the lower arm actuators necessary to do this.
----------

Edit:
Unfortunately Bishop's concept art would not allow that as neither art allows for a full 90 degree rotation of the arm to fire perpendicular to where the unit is facing.

Firstly, to base ANYTHING Mechwarrior off of Mektek is folly. Anyone remember the pretty Youtube of the WASP flying around engaging Dropships?

90 degree actuation? Links please? Because, at least in canon, I do not believe that is remotely the case. The Fluff for the Marauder listed "greatly improved range of motion", but that is to the best of my knowledge, about it.

And don't blame the Bishop. Blame PGI. They are the ones who have decided that split-crits are a no go. Hence, to exist in this game, no Lower Arm Actuators or Hands. Not the Bishop's call.

But, but.. the artist can draw it however the artist pleases.

For example you could give it big claws that pinch and open up to reveal the cannons! O_O!

Oh, and the regular Crab doesn't have AC/20s in the arms. It should be able to have a full range of motion -- from what it appears on the concept art I can't even see a left/right option (unless the horizontal pivot is out of sight behind the side of the arm?)

Meant pinch-pinch. The nasty kind where you grab a Commando by the head or leg or arm and crush it! O_O The mean pinch.

*Sniffles.* I no see mean pinchers.

and you won't. Because the ones on the King Crab were only meant as armored covers. Nothing more. Hence the actuating armored covers on mine. The Crab on the other hand, was specifically listed as having actuating ones, hence the slightly more "grab-able" nature of their design.

but just for you

King Crab is my favorite mech. If they introduced a hero version of it, I would pilot it, buy 2 others with c-bills, then I'd buy the buccaneer paintjob permanent unlock for it, and I would master all three of them up. Then I would make the King Crab my primary mech.

I'd lay down $50 for a Crab Package. A Bucket o' Crabs if you will. A hero Crab, a hero King Crab, and 2 variants of each. Bonus if they come with a King Crab statue for the dashboard and a hanging claw cracking device. Along with a lobster crab bib I can hang off the side of the cockpit. Throw in some exclusive paint schemes and you'll have $50 of my money.

Make our robotic crustacean dreams come true, PGI.

I know they were used as armored covers for the AC20's. Am I mistaken or were they also used as bludgeoning devices in melee combat as well? You close the armor sheathes for the AC20's and start whalloping the guy in front of you.

If they added the King Crab, they should apply the key to the kitty bay doors to the AC20 arms, then I could hit the key over and over again to protract and retract the AC20's. Maybe even make them cool faster when the pincers are open but increase the chance of a critical hit if someone shoots you in the pincer while it's open. Otherwise just make the pincers briefly retract for each shot you take like the kitty bay missile doors.

yup. Hence the massive nature of the arm. It might move more like something from Robot Jocks than from Pacific Rim, but what it hits, it wallops.

And I agree with the Cat flaps. They don't have hand actuators, so neither should the Crab/King Crab need them.

Bah, Robot Jox. One of my favorite bad movies to watch. Great stop motion fighting, but terrible line delivery and plot, stereo typical characters, and overacting like crazy. Man I love that movie.

Doo it PGI.

Everyone has a favorite, and we all want ours.

The AC40 Jager wasn't even that bad, and the heat scaling should help alleviate the problems. I don't place AC 20 jagers myself but as far as letting the hecklers veto keep this awesome peice of tech off the board I say, PGI make this mech!

Why exactly is everyone fixated on the AC/40 build being a 'problem' preventing the King Crab's inclusion? The 'problem' build for the King Crab would be 2 Gauss + ERPPC (very, very close to a canon build, infact, swapping the ERPPC in for a LPL).
