(1) i would buy the UrbanMech with MC just to give PGI more of my money

(2) it would be even better if they made a Hero Urbie (custom camo, and maybe jump jets or something)

(3) There is a chance this can happen. we did get the "classy mech" cockpit item!

cheers
Hadros

While I'm confidently sure the UrbanMech will be added in time, its going to be laughably difficult to use in a default config. With only 2 JJ's, for instance, you won't be soaring over sky scrapers or the next street in a jiff, that's for sure. Even now 5 JJ's, with the Feb. 5th patch, are still laughable when a Jenner can't even reasonably get over stuff quickly.

Once collisions are back in the game and while other "zippy" light mechs are destroying themselves on the sides of buildings, structures, and canyon walls, this mech might be viable.

In the current game, however, it would be a trash (can) mech.

Wouldn't the way engine weight is handled have to be redone to accommodation a engine with a 60 rating; that or have an engine that has a negative weight?

EDIT:
From the last Dev Q&A

Quote

SGT Unther - Any chance of getting sub 100 rated engines? For example the Urbanmech has a 60 rated engine.
A: If a Mech calls for it, then yes.

Never mind.

Come on guys! Put him in.
He is what, 30 polygons? It would take a modeler minutes. Then a few more for the skin.

How many times have we read the [redacted] now?

How much longer can we suffer?

Will the time we have waited make the arrival of the glorious urbanmech even sweeter?

The answer is...

Definitely could enjoy running around in a trashcan of death. They were a blast to play in 3025.

The only thing I have ever wanted from MWO is Urbanmechs and Tatatae bobbleheads.

Until the UrbanMech get here, You have to give him a LOT of time they are SLOW.
Buy a Spider -5k (You know the one with 4 Ballistic slots)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e7fa65a2a13c07e

That my UrbanSpider (And Yes I do Drive it, been working on the other spiders to make the Urbanspider even Meaner) I have Solo'ed a Dual AC10 K2 mech and won before. (Both of our mech were fresh at the start of our fight and the Urban mech walked away on RiverCity fighting for Theta early in the match)

+1 for Urbie, even though as a samurai I would be shamed to have to use such a lowly Mech.

You ain't allowed to touch a Samurai Urbanmech unless approved by 2 zen masters. Its Katana ac/10 cannon is hand crafted and punch a hole through anything, Some say the rifling and grovings are actually words that say "The spring breeze is cut in a flash of lightning." Its wakizashi small laser......can cut a atlas in half.

The real reason old samurai's say its a shame is quite different from young samurai's. As "its a shame i've got to kick your butt."

Urbies are pretty common in universe. They're also ridiculously cheap. Garrisons and militias love them because they pack a punch and are very inexpensive.

If MW:O is true to the universe, you will love the Urbanmech too, because it will be one of the first mechs you can buy that can slug it out with mediums and maybe even beat a few of them.

"Hurrdurr I won't drive it cause it's silly looking and I'd look silly by proxy." Yeah, we play mech games to drive the coolest mechs cause that makes us feel cooler. Yep.
I'm a huge fan of the urbanmech. It was specifically designed to mount heavy weapons in a cheap well armored package.

Newbies gush about MadCats and Fafnirs. Old schoolers have a big soft spot for the trashcan mech.

Yeah, the Hunchback was designed for the same role. It's also 3,457,875 C-Bills. An Urbie is only 1,470,125 C-Bills. So you could buy two Urbies for the price of one Hunchback with money to spare. In MW:O you're a merc, so you're thinking with your pocket book.urbies are also pahetically slow and have tinfoil armour

When I first started playing this game, having only played mechcommander 2 and some MC1 before, I immediately looked for those cute, round "R2D2" looking mechs - but they where nowhere to be found!

I wants it! ;)

I'd love to see them in here. But am I the only one getting flashbacks to that nigh-impossible mission in "Battletech: The Crescent Hawks Revenge"?
