All I can say is PGI can thank their lucky stars that Star Citizen didn't release about now or their player base would be absolutely decimated right now.

The best part about people doing this is by hyping and lauding it up you're doing the very same thing with Star Citizen that led to you supposedly hating MWO. The lack of foresight is hilarious, plus the game won't be out for years.

I appreciate the theme of your post, and the reminder that it's beta, but if you don't understand or sympathize with people wanting to discuss their thoughts on the game, then maybe the forums aren't the place for you. People may have different opinions than you do. It's okay.

There is a huge difference between constructive discussion and plain whining. Unfortunately, these forums have much less of the former and a whole lot more of the latter.

Do you realize that the amount of vitriol spewing from the forums is enough to drive away people interested in the game? Or is that the real objective of many posters spewing said vitriol?

The Devs have, (I'll stress that in caps) HAVE done a great job so far... The games is pretty much Stable, Runs well And looks quite good (ok, dropped some eye candy because most peoples systems could not hack it)(Upgrade please..)

I still renember the AWESOME 8R (Closed Beta) 4 pack Srm6's 3X mediums = 75 Alpha that (not to quote myself) "PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE!" and take more than 1200 damage per match as standard.

Now people cry "That hits too hard!" and the game suffers..

Lets go back to stock TT (never played the game) values, like in Closed Beta and we'll see how much you cry then!! FML!

Mech Tournaments also bring out the worst of the player base that require stroking of their precious ego's.

Well, when their personal lives suck real badly, they really need their gaming egos stroked. ^_^

I think what MWO needs is a Solaris mode where all the Munchkin builds can reside.

Hell, I will tell you now just to clear the air, I'm still average... Too much beer = Fail. Some games are good, some bad.. Hit C3 up when I am not pugging and you can hear for yourself. Around 10-2 Uk times If I am not chasing skirts around town ^_^

Solaris is going to be MEnTaL when It comes out... "ME,ME,ME!"

The sad part is not even a month ago the game was in such a great place, and now its gone downhill so fast, that my XO just quit for good, and he's been playing this game since closed beta, that's pretty bad.

I don't think it was "great" a month ago, but it has gone further and further down-hill over the past several months.

Clearly we have all been kicked onto the island.

Decimated means to lose 10% of your force. Decimal, decimated, similar prefix. If MW:O lost 10% of its player-base, it would be, be definition, decimated.

What we have is no 8v8 games at most times of the day, and long queue times for even PUG matches. The PUG queue is so long that, by my not-totally-baseless guess, there are only a few hundred players online at a time.

Decimated would be generous. My belief is MW:O has lost 80% to 90% of its player-base. Wonder why that new $80 commitment is called "Phoenix Project?" The game is in ashes. Sadly, it seems evident that money will not cause it to be re-born.

Some people tend to over estimate their numbers. This island is the opposite of a TARDIS. It is smaller on the inside.

I am kinda in the same boat at the moment.

ECM/Craven thing was hard
SRM/LRM apocalypse was hard
Poptart apocalypse was lol as it was easy to flank, wall humping stalkers was more of a threat
PPC apocalypse was hard and is still somewhat around
The jumpjet screenshake "fix" was very hard for me but was fixed for at least the light mechs currently

This so called 'Beta' with one real content patch a month and the other is a hero mech patch still feels way to slow and simple fixes and tweaks that require just changing damage or flight speed numbers just dont come quick enough instead we wait sometimes months.

None of my friends that joined into the open beta with me no longer play and im currently on the fence.

For me the last patch was a move in the right direction but the following patches and content better be perfect and not cause any further balance or "apocalypse" meta problems.

At least the steam summer sale came and gave me 10 cheap full games while I ponder.

Oh that too, I have only been doing solo drops with my music blasting in the last couple of months as all my gaming community/teamspeak friends moved on and I stopped dropping on the comstar and other teamspeaks and YES the pug queue has slowly but surely gone to hell with crazy team mismatches more often and 9 times outta 10 its a long wait launching a game compared to earlier this year, sometimes I think the game has crashed.

What's up with trying to convince the world that a game has died? Plenty of us enjoy it and I can pug reliably without running into the same people. I'd love to see your magic data source.

It's like the negative nancys are going to win points somehow by convincing other people that they were right and the game is finished. Sorry guys, they're not implementing your ideas. That in no way means the rest of us aren't enjoying ourselves.

Watching their progress and the setbacks they've had. I can't help but wonder if the Cryengine just isn't very optimized for online multiplayer. They always seem to have issues with netcode and hit registration. Maybe a different engine would have been easier to adapt for what they wanted : /

That's why I'm psyched for the ethereal, infallible and unquestionable Star Citizen. Oh wait, it's using the same engine as MWO. (Comment isn't aimed at you, just felt like being snarky to a particular group.)

Yeah. I went looking through info about the engine. Seems there are MMOs that use it too. So it really is all on them.

Its mostly because the game has been pushed and turned into another BF3 clone where pgi constantly caters to the bf3 knee jerk action crowd instead of the right people..

basecap warrior online IS NOT FUN.. if i wanted to avoid fights and stand a square for stats i go back to player battleground europe, bf3, and other games with that lame stupid system.

not to mention the **** poor mechanics..

the game is fun... for the bf3 folks.. its still kinda fun to me.. mostly cause now days atm i got outta my way to annoy people that rather tear the game up then help it prosper...

i said once i say it again for some of you..MWO has been put on the back burner by igp.. its all bout tactics and another game now..

Lots of people I know are successfully getting their phoenix packs refunded, so if you've bought one, don't hold onto it just because you think you're locked in.
