I mean seriously, how can a (seismic) sensor tell the difference between an enemy or a friendly on top of it? A seismic disturbance doesnt have a tag or a color. A seismic disturbance is a seismic disturbance... PGI obviously has no idea what the heck they are doing. They are like a bunch of noobs sitting around a table tossing out lame ideas.
Regards
... Is it okay, or should it not be allowed? I'm confused, and you only just started. Allowing different ranges for the different weight classes is a neat idea, but nerfing it to 250m will have a similar effect, and is a much simpler solution - possibly why they went with it.
As for the supposed inability of a computerized command and control network (which we have) being unable to figure out which seismic readings correspond to friendly 'Mechs when the network knows exactly where those friendlies are... You obviously have no idea what the heck you are doing. Stop tossing out lame ideas and try constructive posting instead. Newb.

Seismic is a nice tool and I like it. The planned reduced range is no problem for me.
In fact, I often forget to equip it when switching mechs so I often end up without any modules. And it doesn't bother me at all
If you have good situational awareness there is not much difference between using seismic or not. It's just more comfortable.

Which is -excellent- for scouts who don't want to try and crest a hill or walk across a fire tunnel and get taken out by twitch shotting ppc+ppc+gauss, or ppc+ppc+erppc+erppc+gauss, or gauss+gauss+ppc etc etc, while trying to 'scout'.
It -is- possible to 'sneak up' on someone with seismic, you just have to keep track of where they are, where they're moving, and time when you are going to move in on them to be worth letting them know you're there.

I hate seismic.
Crest a hill (even slowly) hoping to bite an ankle or get a shot at someone's rear torso and BLAMMO!! You've been INSTA-PPC-GUASS-AC-LAZERIFIED!
If I'm lucky and don't die to one shot, I maybe can lock SSRMs and throw some pebbles in defiance before the coup de grace is administered.
Maybe I should just go cap instead

Canyon Network is fine, your assault wasn't meant to climb cliffs with jumpjets. If you can't figure out where you can get to the top at, several ramps have been provided for your use
I agree that Seismic is broken, but it's already getting a nerf, so we'll wait until that goes live before we start complaining further.

Which brawlers? The ones that did not see me JJ from cover to their rear and put 2 volleys of AC20/PPC/PPC on their back? Those dead brawlers?

I can't tell you the number of times I've turned a corner in a brawler and found nearly the whole enemy team waiting for me. With any kind of close-range build you have to commit to getting close - which is one of the reasons why sniper builds are so strong. Seismic makes it so much more survivable to try to get to where you can actually fire back, and it radically improves your ability to track targets and maintain overall situational awareness when in a knife fight.

Honestly, if JJ were just a little more powerful, I'd agree. It's pretty stupid for the size of the map for a Victor to make its whole jump and get ledge-caught on the edge of the terrain, having to wiggle its hips in order to get moving again.
That may be both a glitch of the JJ not quite going high enough and a glitch of the new motion mechanics, but it's still bad for gameplay.

Because thered be no reason to take an Atlas if it didnt have ECM. Its slow, easy to pinpoint, and is pathetically underarmed for it tonnage.
