So, we're supposed to get a response today, I hope that this won't end with pitchforks and torches, it never ends well.

Hey, so, we got a response. The response is that PGI is going to triple-down on opacity and a refusal to share information until it's set in stone. The best way to learn about new systems and gauge player reactions are patchnotes, right?

While I understand the issue of wanting more info right away, I just want to let you all know that we will release information when it's ready and not before then (no matter how it's asked for).

It was an unfortunate circumstance that we missed the deadline last Friday for Ask the Devs questions, and we apologize for the delay. It is in there that I had touched on the issue of the Gauss/PPC. That Ask the Devs will be posted no later than end of business day today. (Monday Aug 12.)

It seems like PGI has issued a Order 227 on their views and changes on the game. cause god forbid they be less like a AAA game company like EA that destines most of their games to flop and have no respect for their consumer base. One could hope if & when this game does eventually tank that Relic (a successful canadian developer now owned by Sega) would pick it up, they did wonders with Warhammer 40K from Games workshop. Mind you they specialize in RTS games but still.

Right now I'm considering to bail on MWO, this game will not improve with the way things are right now.
The best thing would be for MWO to tank and have somebody else pick up the license in a couple of years.

I'll stick around on the board for UI 2.0 and the official launch, but I doubt that there will be any drastic changes.

I wouldn't exactly describe you as a bad guy, you're more like the Arnold Rimmer of these boards.

Im glad all I invested was this 120 bucks. I cut off the money when they wouldnt listen about going to open beta. I feel fir thise who have funneled money at this **** in massive quantities. Chris Roberts at Star citizen should thank PGI for phucking over their player base, a crap liad of people over there are former MWO players.

LOLLOLLOL I told everyone so 2 years ago at the beginning of closed beta. A month after I was in closed BETA I knew MWO might never be the game I loved MechWarrior but I always held out hope PGI would allow private matches-Savable mech configs in mechlab-Leagues-and all the things past MechWarrior games had. Like many I will stay around till official launch IF!!! MWO is still WOT/MWO/COD/MWO I will have to abandon all hope of a golden days return of MechWarrior and move on. Posted Image

If things literally did change all the time (for the better) I would be ecstatic.

Instead, a single solitary metagame has been the order of the day for over 7 months now, while it could have been fixed with all of 10 single number changes in one itemstats.xml file.

I know a lot of people claim they got refunds. I know a handful of people said they had gotten or were going to ask for a refund on that form. IGP/PGI knows the true numbers. Based on the lack of attention that would tend to indicate not quite everyone got a refund.
I know it's hard to imagine, and I'm not saying it's true, but what if you people aren't really that important to IGP/PGI's bottom line. Or that despite lots of tough talk perhaps these self same people are playing and paying? I know it's popular to believe IGP/PGI is run by morons, and I don't disagree with this idea but what if it's not true? What if IGP/PGI has the numbers to justify ignoring this petition?
Those appear to be the only possible conclusions. IGP/PGI are throwing away money for pride or some such, or they have enough happy players who aren't raging on the forums to ignore the unrest. Don't forget, they already have loads of founder money and maybe they think they can get more new money. Why else go so hard for 3PV despite forum outcry? Someone is clearly believing there is more money in new players and it's safe and maybe smart to let the hard core folks go. They also know they can count on a certain portion of hard core BT/MW fans to stay no matter what. These people can also be safely ignored from that perspective.
Clearly this movement and the forums in general get ignored, only time will tell if that is a smart move or not. You can scream until you're blue in the face how all the top units and some such are leaving and never looking back. If IGP/PGI thinks they already got plenty from them and can make more off of a new audience without the high expectations, they will ignore you. So you need to start examining if your community is as important as you think. Some one's right and some one's wrong here. IGP/PGI does seem to be doubling down on kissing off a certain portion. We'll see if the gamble is worth it.
