I railed Thomas pretty hard when they moved away from bluewarrior as it would be hitting the brown spec against the brown background.
I was not wrong. (except for caustic which has a green wash).

Just like forest colony is twilight low light.
Everything else looks great. I can see and could snipe from 2k+ distance if the weapons allowed.

I hear putting this in your user.cfg works for maps where it is able to see far.

Anywho. It's not actually 300 meters. I can stand at epsilon and snipe people at kappa with my ac/20 in forest colony.

Imagine what color blind players have to go through every second in this game.
The target lock HUD is red...in maps that are mostly yellow and green backgrounds. Yeah..we don't see it.
Blue chat text on translucent black backround in the midst of mostly grey/brown air... yeah..we don't see that very well.

What if I set it to 1000?
200 is the mex for cryengine, 225 even, but its capped at 100 in MWO. you wont see further even if you up the number.
turn DoF to 1 or 0, that'll fix the grain.
I agree we could stand a little more colour vibrance and definition overall.

Try it out. Never cared for graphics anyway, it's all about gameplay and minimalistic graphics makes it easier to kill people.

I enjoy blowing up mechs but in an immersive world.
Horses for courses I suppose.

Back when I first joined the closed beta, forest colony was actually clear and sunny. It was so much more fun to play on when you could actually see stuff.

Eh?
All maps have terrain cover.
Only one map has fog. And two maps are low light but as a means to diversify maps and create a different atmosphere but we still get clear daylight versions of those maps. Just like we get snow city at night where it's crystal clear.
Fog, atmospheric conditions just add to the immersion if the world, not as a crutch for something missing, which there isn't in this case. All fighter pilots want clear blue skies but they can't control the weather or time of day.

Edit: I think also that they are making a color blind mode soon.
