I'm not uninstalling my antivirus. These devs need to learn how to make a frakking game.
As someone who grew up playing Battletech, and made a point to get his hands on every Mechwarrior game he could, I'm really disappointed with this game. If you can't even compete with the job Microsoft did 13 years ago, I'd say it's time to take a step back and look at the priorities. How anyone can make a game so broken and incomplete an open beta is mind-boggling.
Devs have a sticky already and the Avast! item is meant to be temporary workaround. If this affects you, you will need to wait for the issue to be resolved. After the workaround was reported, including reinstalling Avast! (and rebooting system) and had the APPCRASH happen again, it did not take long for them to both acknowledge and get started looking into it.
As for Microsoft, they never attempted to create a persistent world/environment with Mechwarrior, though a few other companies did with the MPBT series, which lasted for almost 20 years over 3 different games, each a stepping stone off the previous version til EA got involved (sad, sad day). So comparing what Microsoft did, via other gaming companies, and what PGI is doing (I am not a {Noble MechWarrior} by far) is two different things. PGI did want to go down that same road as MS but they had to take a different path to simply bring this game into being. To say anything else would come with heavy moderation/bans

Also there seem to be a number of general problems with the textures again. They are flickering, plain missing or "jumping" around. All new with this patch.

Hasliy, I have heard rumors of a crash caused by simultaneous firing of MGs and AMS systems. You say both times you were blazing away with MGs, might wanna look out for other mechs lighting off AMS at the same time.

I am having the exact same issue. I've followed the same troubleshooting steps to no avail. I am also concerned about getting a rollback on my premium time. I e-mailed support. It seems like this patch is no bueno.
