Still not fixed with this patch.

You have to be kidding me. So pissed, I haven't played Mech Warrior Online in ages.

Edit: It didn't work, still pissed. This clearly is not a priority for the devs to fix.

Avast!

No Problems here.

And do you have enable hardware assisted virtualization turned off or on? Because if it off then you are suffering the problem just like everyone else with Avast. And with that feature off Sandbox cannot reliably contain maleware.

And just as darkstar posted patch does not address this issue for myself either.

Uninstalling your Virus protection software, especially when youve paid $50.00 for it, shouldnt even be mentioned.

Why would you even suggest it, and from a Mod no less?

Yes - its enabled - Avast! is allways up and running.
Aside of Avast! i run occasionally Emsisoft Anti-Malware.

Then you are lucky that your particular AMD chipset isn't impacted. Fortunate for you.

Another patch..lets see if it's fixed now. Probably not, I'll update this with an edit. I see how much of a priority it is to fix this as stated from the devs. /Sarcasm. I'm getting so pissed, I want to play Mech Warrior Online. It's been over a week. This is just absurd.

Edit: Still broken, why am I not surprised. For those of you that can still play have fun and I hope you are enjoying the game.

Tried uninstalling MW:O and reinstalling.

No joy.

Mongo sad.......

I have a question, why isn't this on the "Known Issues" threads?

Greetings Players,

We are currently experiencing an issue where players are unable to enter the game, becoming stuck at the "Please Wait" screen. This appears to be related to two factors:
-AMD Processor
-avast! Anti-Virus Software

In order to workaround this issue, there are 2 currently known workarounds

1 - un-install Avast! and reboot your PC.
2 - "Instead of uninstalling and reinstalling Avast open Avast, go to settings and under the troubleshooting section uncheck the box for "Enable hardware-assisted virtualization". Then reboot and you should be able to launch MWO with no problems."

(special thanks to Silvercrest for uncovering this and sharing with the community!)

I did Step #2, unchecked the box, restarted my comp, and just like that MWO works again just fine.

Most Avast owners are unwilling to perform that step. It's just a game.

I'm having this issue, but I don't have avast... or any anti-virus at the moment. Any ideas?

If only you have access to your computer, why are you bothering with AV?

Because if you are hooked up to a network or, in the case of anyone playing MW:0, the vast and scary internet you are not the only with access to your computer.

I can think of many reasons but I am going to list the most important. First, there are 11 active computers in my household. We all are hooked up to one network. My computer is the only gaming computer (I am the only pc gamer in the household) my mother, father, little brother, and little sister, only use the computers for browsing the internet and playing Toon Town. <-- **** game but that's beside my point. Anyways, no one else knows much about computers aside from me in the household. I'm always fixing/maintaining one or more of the computers. My family is foolish online and someone seems to always get a virus every now and then. Then I the computer repair person always has to fix it. I hope you know some viruses can travel from computer to computer through a network. My second reason for having an AV is as much as I know about computers and all, even I make mistakes. I'll accidentally go on an infected website, click on a bad link, foolishly download something bad. In fact, just the other day my friend's email address was hacked. The hacker sent an infected link to all of his contacts. I wasn't thinking straight and clicked on the link. Avast! got it and took care of it all. I love Mech Warrior Online, but I won't compromise my computer just to play it, no matter how good the game is. Never EVER Ever. I'm still pissed that this issue isn't getting fixed, it has been over a week. Clearly, fixing this is not a priority for the developers at all. Have a good day friend.

I cannot believe that you asked such a question. If you have a wire or wireless that your computer can hookup to and is, there are ways of getting into said computer without your assistance or intervention. Seriously. I also run the Avast internet suite which includes a firewall and other useful features.

Unfortunately no, if we were allowed PGI would be legally required to issue all forum members a swear jar. :)

over 2 weeks and counting. starting to wonder why i ever sent money to you guys. whough not a lot of money i still gave you some. this is pathetic. in eve online CCP Borked up the game and a massive boycott went into place where hundreds of thousands of players unsubscribed and forced the former CEO to resign. what ever happened to rolling back the software. clearly you dont care about your customer and fan base. get it fixed already. PGI is turning out to be a sad excuse for a development group.

I call on everybody who has been affected by this issue to post on any of MW:O's feeds (for which you have an account): twitter, facebook, etc about how, after two weeks, without subverting one's anti-virus program, MW:O is still unplayable for some of those with AMD CPUs in their computers who are running Avast.

Then, I call for a boycott of indeterminate length until they remediate the issue.

IGP's support staff are great, but they cannot fix anything - PGI's wonderboys have to do that.

@ Mr T

Hopefully we will have more information for you today on a resolution for this problem affecting AMD users.

And, that was 31 July, then reiterated on 3 Aug. It is now 11 August.
