Greetings all,

This Mech was specifically designed to work as a NARC tagger and be part of an LRM heavy lance. The disadvantages were the lack of speed the Mech has, but the dual SRM-6's allowed for some close in work to get the NARC at range.

Unless the NARC is given a time extension buff I don't see this component staying on the chassis, the current 60sec. NARC time is not sufficient with the speed of the current LRM's(120). You would only get one maybe two volley's in flight before the NARC would "go offline". (at max LRM range,1000mtrs)
-Ok, you really get more as it should only takes about 8 sec.'s to cross that distance.-

I see the NARC being replaced by an additional SRM-6 as the other variant has done. [KTO-18]

If PGI is indeed giving some if not all the Medium's chassis buff's, to allow for longer "time in combat" then this NARC carrier may actually become a valued mech to have on the Lance. Time will tell.

Later,
9erRed

Also, I dearly hope for a ballistic variant.

Well, none of the standard variants (KTO-18, KTO-19, and KTO-20) carry any ballistic weapons, and (IIRC) what we know of Golden Boy also indicated a lack of ballistic weapons/hardpoints.

As such, it looks like all of the Kintaro variants are varying degrees of "missiles backed up with energy weapons".

I like the concept and everything. Glad to have another mech in the line up. Still cannot wait for the other mechs to come out as well, Orion, Flea etc. Strange that they are taking so long to deploy them.

I've never mistaken a mech for another mech, so they're at least that distinct.

Admittedly my eyesight isn't terribly good (without that red box I can't reliably see mechs against the background past 800m or so) but I mistake almost all of the last few mechs for each other all the time (Highlander, Quickdraw, Victor). Plus the Blackjack looks like a slightly smaller Jager, so at a distance they look the same to someone with my contrast issues. Plus the ingame art looks like they've just got a 'toolkit' of arms, legs, and such and they've been specifically choosing humanoid mechs so they can make the tiniest alterations rather than having to design something that looks actually different. But that's just my opinion, obviously I'm in the minority.

PLEASE! Let somoeone edit your release stories! For the love of god let someone edit them!!! I'll do it for Paint and to be honest that's something like a 2000% pay cut for an edit! I hate them now... at first it was tolerable bnut for gods sake!

'Ears'!?! Who the hell let a Catapaults 'ears' through!?! Putting it in inverted commas does not make it a viable turn of phrase for a robot vehicle!!!

Where was her "gritted teeth and exhultant grimice as the glory of her ancestors carried her disentergrating mech into the Atlas's warriors embrace" or something equally cheesy from the old Battletech novels, hmm?

EDIT: Sorry, shouldn't post from work... editing is frustrating sometimes

You, person who wrote the OP, are awful at writing interesting fluff, whoever you are.

Imho it pretty much is an accurate picture how a battle in MWO goes along - especially the Atlas thing.
You battle hard, you get a slight edge, and than an Atlas comes along...

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP TURNING EVERYTHING INTO BOXES.. THE WORLD IS NOT MADE UP OF RIGHT ANGLES NEXT TO RIGHT ANGLES ...

The digital world is made up of polygons, which in turn are made up of straight lines. Simulating curves requires lots of tiny polygons, which in turn make models more resource intensive to create and to render on the client. Not to mention armored vehicles tend to use angular rather than curved armor for various reasons, not the least of which is the economics of having to produce fancy curved armor plates constantly in order to repair damage.

A significant portion of Battletech art is just bad. The mechs look silly and have very little of a "military" aspect about them. They're walking tanks, not blinged-out BMWs. Suspension of disbelief only goes so far (and Battletech burns A LOT of it on other aspects). Alex is doing a pretty good job of making the mechs look like they could actually belong on a battlefield instead of at a cosplay convention.

Anyone else feel like the art is starting to look way to alike?

My brother thinks it is because they don't like using rounded surfaces.

I think they are going to use more rounded features for the clan mechs so they have a distinct difference in look.
