For Those Who Power Off Instead Of Helping Until The End.

If your team is already losing by 6 or 7, why would you hide and waste people's time until time runs off?
I understand that sometimes when you are in that position of losing by A LOT people hide to wait a few moments before they attempt a cap but some people simply hide when they feel that they are too damaged and could die! -.-
If you know that KDR is an useless stat, then why would you care about it?!
If you are a player that cares about your ELO then you should worry about the insignificant KDR.
When I see this happening, I simply call off his/her position for the enemy top kill him
(if in my team) And I dont care if get reported for that.
I respect the way people play but I hate when people hide instead of helping the team.

The only hiding one really need to do, imho, is in Conquest when the cap is nearly finished.

You have to earn my slavage!
*runs and hides*
If you want the last light to help you win a match, Dont leave most of the enemy with full armor VS your last light at the end of the match.

If I'm in a Light and last man standing, I will always try to split the enemy up, and get as many kills as possible before I go down fighting.
Sometimes I surprise myself and the enemy by taking out their remaining three or four players single-handedly. Those are the most enjoyably epic MWO wins of all.
So, by fighting to the end, you are not only 'doing the right thing', you are also giving yourself a chance to have an epic victory.
By hiding, you are just annoying everyone else in the game and wasting their time.

Even if you are in no codition to fight (little to no weapons left, or little armor), you should either try to cap, or try to lure enemies away from your team by distracting them, or just spot for your team (even if there's no lrms, information is ammunition).
Like Zphyr said, you should only hide if you're going for a cap win in conquest.

call me selfish if you want but thats how i feel.
Then again those situations are few and far between and most of the time ill go out in a blaze of glory trying to take out the most damaged mechs with me.

KDR is only sorta meaningful if you purely pug. Though really if it's under 1 you're probably not that great...

Had a Hunchback who just sat outside a 3v3 and waited until the three lights were on red CT before jumping into to finish them off with his AC10. >_>
It's a little disheartening.
Edit: And he extended the match by atleast 8 minutes due to him powering down, I actually was happy when a Jenner found him and finished him off.

Oh, teams have blundered into guns many a time, and it's why I've sometimes spared my light 'Mech the repair bill.
This implied "warrior code" goes both ways, one of the tenets being "don't play stupidly."
And, too, on big maps, giving the other team merry chase is a lot of fun. No one's denying me that, especially when they've gone and gotten their ride crashed.

It's called picking your fights. You hide, knowing you can do more damage at a distance, acting as a distraction away from the main fight and doing more damage with greater team value than a charge would ever accomplish.
Just mopping up kills or sparing yourself with a long wait to others, however, is uncool.

So man up, stop deluding yourself, and try to get a kill before the game ends, regardless of how hard that is..
Remember, if you do kill someone going down in a blaze of glory then everyone on your team who ever damaged that Mech will get a kill assist. By being selfish and wimping out, you are denying all of them the opportunity for CBills and XP, as well as yourself.
