This is EXACTLY what Im talking about. I dont care about getting into closed beta that much or my name in credits, I just dont want to lose out on the other stuff becuase I wont part with my money sight unseen. I KNOW they are losing money the way they are doing it now. If they simply stated the the founders packs or something similar were going to be around during open beta, then all of this would go away, As it stands now they will lose players. They should be trying to cater to as many types of buyers as they can, but they chose not to.
What are they losing? When the game is out they will make plenty of money each month from the idiots like you who think the game will be bad and choose to not buy.
I can see it now.... "OMG THIS GAME IS BEAST, WOLFCLAW WAS RIGHT I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE PACKAGE! FMLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

This is essentially a preorder (paying for a game before it's officially released) which offers some nice bonuses as an incentive. You get early access to the closed BETA.
The game is not finished, it is not ready for free-for-all distribution. They don't even have enough servers to accommodate all the founders yet. It's ridiculous to expect an open beta before then.
What I *would* agree with is that the devs extend the founder offer at least until the open beta pops up (but before the game is 'officially' out of beta. I understand that the devs are trying to incentive early support, but investing in the game during the open beta is still early support, and it's 30/60/120 bucks that that player might not otherwise have spent on the game if the deal weren't so good. I'd say keep the offer up for those who want to try before they pay. Players who bought beforehand still get their bonuses (and these will be active during the course of the beta), devs get their money, and the rest get to try before they pay. Win-win, I'd say.
Where is the win-win? What does that mean for us who shelled out the money beforehand? Sure I wouldve bought it either way, but we chose to pay beforehand, you dont deserve the option to pay afterward. IMO The point of the founders was an early way for them to raise money to finish off their projects and make fans happy at the same time. There will be plenty of lower grade crap you can buy after the game is out. You'll be okay,
