MWO has just over 64 thousand likes on Facebook.

Considering people unhappy with PGI would probably unlike it, and the fact that only a fraction of the player base is on Facebook, then I would say the population is probably pretty good.

To put that number into perspective MWO has over 1 MILLION registered users and PGI has only 389 "likes".

LaserAngel - I was that guest ... and I still stand by this ... if a non-premium, non-hero mech player can't buy a new mech in the same number of matches it takes to complete the basic skills, then the rewards are probably too low to keep that player interested in the long run.

I share the same sentiment and I greatly apologize being unable to identify your voice in the short time we were playing together on TeamSpeak. I'll update my information and that post.

To be fair, I had forgotten that I had liked it (a source of many a facebook scam) and you underestimate the universality of facebook as a platform.

But yes: "Nerf" or not, I'm making more money now than I ever did with a hero mech or premium before the "nerf."
I used to have to combine a hero + premium to make this kind of money (in the 200,000 mark), so I'm swimming in cash!

You work for PGI don't you? :P Come on, admit it. You do don't you. :D

I am a legendary ($120) founder and these bonuses are a slap in the face.

Not the first one founders have had lately, either.

What you mean you don't like the great perks we got like the currently mismatched Founders mechs paint jobs? You don't like them ruining what was an otherwise awesome paint scheme with a bland, boring and uninspired one? I bet when the Phoenix package is released all those mechs will match. Unless PGI wants to change them many months later and then forget about them before completion.

When did it ever turn into that? It is still about the lack of communication, which the cbill nerf falls into in part. We have a dev saying we were earning too much, then we have a moderator (or whatever) say it's to make room for future cbill earnings.... so if we are getting more ways to earn cbills that means we were earning the correct amount.... or am I missing something here?

You're missing something huge, something obvious, something embarrassingly absent. You're missing clear and effective communications from a company that's trying to sell us on real-money pre-orders for a free-to-play game. You're missing adequate feedback channels to relay important user experience information to the developers.

I'm missing it, too. We're all missing it. Some just don't mind, or are happy enough with free paint that's eerily similar to the PC-Gamer colors we all got a year ago to the point of worthlessness. Happy or not, they're still missing these things, though!

Though many have said PGI should hire me.

Also, liking your own post. Some don't approve. If what you said is good -- other people will like it for you. :D

Which means that the actual player base is higher. For example WoW has 5+ million, and they still have something like 8+ million players.

I liked it for him so he doesn't feel too sad. :D

Although I have to say, I don't share your experience of earning more than before. With 8vs8, a good match would earn me 150-200k (no heroes or premium involved), now a good match will perhaps get me 150k. Doesn't sound that bad at first, but when you include most matches taking significantly longer now, you end up with quite a bit less in your pocket.

On the "but the facebook likes!" topic: anyone who really considers those to have any meaning: sorry folks, there is easter bunny, no santa claus and facebook likes don't proof anything. Heck, even in my local subway trains I see companies openly advertising the sale of 10k "like"s for pocket change.

PS: Can you shut up with the Goon flamewar? PM each other if you have issues but leave this thread alone with your OT.

Most people do not decide to unlike a product on facebook that they no longer endorse and it's madness to believe otherwise, especially because facebook likes are generally just a way to get some cheap coupon or trinket like that NVidia fairy item.

I unliked nvidia after I got the code.

That is the irony, the colour clearly is orange yet they have called it red.. ..unless the colour displayed is unrepresentative of the actual colour we will be provided?

(I had to take a peek again to make sure i was not going crazy..)

This does nothing but undermine any reliance on facebook "likes" by showing how shallow and worthless they are, changing on a whim for often no reason at all (I do not presume NVidia managed to **** you off in the moments between pressing "like" and receiving your fairy, but my apologies if they did in fact offend you in that brief instant -- ultimately leading to you unliking them).

Nvidia never did anything to me, I just had no compelling reason to have them on my like list.

Please stop throwing out number's like that, the petition has 1120 names on it today, up by 10 since Thurs/Fri when I last checked. That's it, it's nice they say they have all kinds of guilds back them up, but if all those people are really supporting #savemwo, they need to start signing that petition. Otherwise they're just empty voices.

Yes they are empty voices because you say so. Maybe a lot of them stoped playing and simply don't give a **** anymore. So when their leaders asked if they would support something that would potentially bring better things they said yes.

I have observed this as well.

I used to work with a goon. Nice guy... not very good people skills. His take on it was he gave people on the internet a hard time because they weren't real unless he knew them irl. They were just 1's and 0's. :)

I think they are supposed to troll the forums as some kind of rite of passage or something.

If this were in any way relevant to the discussion at hand I'd tell you all about this House Jurai guy who once kicked my dog and stomped some flowers in a local botanical garden, but it adds little to the current conversation so we'll save that story for later. I'm sure you understand.

Phoenix Red is a red-orange color. Definitely a lot more orange than PCGamer Red, and brighter too.
Phoenix Grey is lighter than the PCGamer Grey, not quite as bright as Titanium White, and with a warmer tone.

I'l take it. I'm not a founder, but I bought an overlord. And I don't think PGI is intentionally trying to screw things up. But mostly, I think COMPLAINING when they try to do something good and give us free stuff is probably not the best way to get them to do it again (and maybe more successfully) in the future.

The personal attacks need to stop, it accomplishes nothing. I can understand and respect both sides, those that think PGI is taking the right track, and those that don't, but stop taking it personally.
