Asking for progress bar images?
You trolls are why we can't have nice things.

Really, I just can't grok how people are all up in arms about this TERRIBLE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY like PGI somehow owes us anything in this. This whole thing? These stretch goals? However they work doesn't matter - we're just getting free stuff. Why can't anybody ever be happy with what PGI does, even when it's 100% just free stuff for us?
Sure, sure, I can already hear the response: "We just want transparency! We want PGI to show us all the numbers!" Nobody is going out and buying several extra Overlord Phoenix Packs just to unlock stretch goals, that's just silly.
I get that we're all geeks here, to some level or other, and we want to gamify this. Everyone likes numbers to play with.
But lets be honest. PGI could show exact numbers, and you know what would happen? Even more people would come out of the woodwork, decrying PGI as being money grubbing ******** for settings the goals so high that even with awesome sales we still don't have various rewards, then other people would go off on how low the sales are, and yet another set would tromp out with numbers from some other game company's totally unrelated promotion. It would be even more of a ****storm, no matter what those numbers were.
Tell me I'm wrong.

The percentage of these bars are based on total monies earned. More money earned more that bar will move (automagically!) however the milestone numbers and total amounts are hidden, so I can't share those.

Thanks to Kyle's explanation about the progress bar updating automatically when certain sales goals are reached, we can now confirm one of two things: Either the goals are very high, or sales are very low.
The bar only moved 5% over 69 hours (maybe an hour less, at most). That is right after the loyalty bonus announcement weekend.

It's also 20 days into the month, and people's funds may be running low as pay day approaches.
Give it a week or two, then you can start drawing inferences from the way the bar moves.
Please note I'm not saying the goals are low or sales are high; I have no idea either way - except that they seemed to jump off the shelf the first few days when I was actively following the release thread, and now PGI states sales are good enough to give us a couple of freebies (remember, the bar started at 45% of the second goal).

All I can do is point to how people love to obsess over and mash F5 while viewing the Star Citizen progress bar during the day, watching the numbers tick up in response to their friends pledging more filthy lucre to Sir Roberts. Nerds love numbers and making them increase quiaff pubbie?

How does this relate to what I said? Sure, people love to do that. No argument there.
But what I said? Let me quote:
Quote
I didn't say YOU would say those things, I said more people would do so. They can have a few people bitching at their "lack of transparency"; or they can have many, many more raving on about the specific numbers and drawing all sorts of claims and theories from them. Clearly, they chose the former.
Given this forum's history? It's a very safe bet that what I said above would come to pass.

well... okay.
i was hoping for a little more transparency since i really enjoy it 'over there' but you will have your reasons, so i accept it.
i already threw a lot of money at MWO so you just have to take a couple silly comments from time to time

You say you deal in cold hard facts yet you say both per unit sales figures and dollar values are hidden.
Why the disconnect? I don't see anything being explained at all throughout. Backers stil have zero idea how much the contribution goes towards achieving the goal.
I'm not naive enough to assume benevolence from corporations specially considering there's zero transparency here.

Furthermore without showing hard numbers we get neither a indication of how many packs are currently purchased, need to be purchased or even if the bar is a representation of the total or a sample number and this helps prevent the "reward" from backlashing and hurting the game by reflecting poorly on the pack sales. (In fact, odds are if you already have a ProPho you will get all of the rewards by the time everything is said and done, unless they take a realism approach and keep the flame pattern back for a individual sale later.)
Of course I might just be imagining smoke and daggers abound while PGI is just being cautious and inadvertently getting getting a win/win sales pitch.

If I can nit-pick a little... I'm kinda bummed because I already have a white black and red colour from PC Gamer... and these looks rather similar

But, the patterns look sweet! I hope we unlock those soon

Time to convince more people to buy it! The value has just increased about 1500MC (500mc per colour, but since they're SPECIAL colours.. That's even MORE value!"
here is my problem, the colors are not unlocked to me and i already saw many guys with this colors and they all said that the color were unlocked for them. any idea why i cant get them?

True, I´ll buy the Overlordpackage as soon as I´ll get my paycheck but until then I can´t buy a thing even if I want to.
I really "need" to pilot the Battlemaster, It´s been a favourite ever since I got my hands on the 92´ edition of Battletech 15 years ago. I am currently repainting the mini from that box in the Skye-Rangers colourscheme:)
