When you're the head of a company, you don't really get to switch that "off" before posting. Even if you want to, you will be cited as "Company CEO Yournamehere."

I agree there's a communication issue. They need to stop making promises ("this will Never happen"). That's just staff education or letting sales people talk :-). If they uad said "at this time, it is our intent that you will never have to play against". They would have solved the issue.

Unfortunately, I fear they'll just stop talking. Which is why they didn't tell us about 3pvs specific implementation until patch day... (I.e. no split queue). Although they did say something about community warfare, so they probably implied the normal queue would not be split, but playes didn't understand.

Anyways, honestly the evolution and development of 3pv made perfect sense and was standard development. That's why I am not too worked up. I think they have meant everything they've said (thus they have never LIED since a lie requires intent). They just made the mistake of phrasing things as promises when they should have phrased them as intent.

But hey, unlike fraud (lies), breach of contract (broken promises) doesn't have an ethical component at law. :-).

Lesson learned: I will never pay to be part of a 'Closed Beta' again.

I told myself that after the beta for Age of Conan, and again after the one for Warhammer Online. I sure do pick winners, don't I?

Edit: Now that I think about it, Warhammer especially was a lot like MWO as far as starting strong, then going into a death spiral wherein the developers were flailing without any obvious signs of overall direction. It was marketed as a heavily PVP-focused MMORPG where you can level from 1 to cap entirely off of PVP. Then one of the classes, Choppa, wasn't shaping up like it needed to and ended up not being in the game at launch. Then they nerfed some of the bonuses from PVP, and spent months churning out PVE content. I gave up on the game when they released multiple consecutive patches buffing classes that was ok while another class was completely non functional (as in the mechanics literally did not work).

Warhammer Online was pretty decent if all you wanted to do was PvP. PvE was meh. Also, the whole faction city raid thing was so much of a rooster block because it was kind of easy to keep the enemy from going from Phase 2 to Phase 3 most of the time.

You sure do, you poor sod. :)

By the way, were you by any chance around during the Ranger revamp? Because the QQ after that was EPIC! And the best part of it all was that I landed on AOC just as the revamp was being deployed and I loved it. :)

I was never particularly against 3PV, but I do think their current hat trick in regards to mixing the queues without having a hardmode option as was promised is a definite move in the wrong direction and a bad pr move.

Mine will be 7 / 10. Being honest. You guys can be the CoD vs. BF idiots who just 0 / 10 each others game because you're fanguys.

the irony of telling people who were lied to by PGI that being hinest is giving them a good score....

Problem is, staff do not get to be "snarky". When one acts unprofessional and represents a company/business online, they tarnish all their employees and their brand by anything they say. Applys to all business. Why retail jobs really suck. Customer is always right no matter how dumb they are. You just have to grin, bare it, and continue on. Any other company that has such PR snafu usually sack responsible screw ups and appologise stating the opinion expressed on "whoever twitterfeed" is not the opinion of the company. Usually.

Yeah like for isntance, however much a mod may dislike a group, coming into their thread and trolling it , them moderating/banning/mod approvalling the people who reply then k-towning the threrad would be over the top.

I played a black ork, and quit just before choppas were added. My experience with the game is about 50% getting blown up by bright wizards, 30% yelling at pubbies to ignore the iron breakers until the healer is dead ("they get stronger when you damage them I hate you guys so much") and 20% stabbing squishies. Once all the lame PVE quests started coming out I read the writing on the wall.

I never managed to see a city raid. Was it better than Conan? In AoC the first time the goon faction got invaded the system bugged out and put the invaders in a separate instance from the defenders. The invaders rolled over the unmanned defenses then proceeded to crow all over the internet about how they beat goons.

I forgot I played the SWtOR beta too. My record's even worse than I thought. Literally every game where I've gotten into the beta has gone on to tank. The MMO genre devours companies and crushes dreams.

Grand..they've relocated all 3pv threads to the patch feedback forum burried under a page of stickies. Because this is a patch issue, not a game balance, or meta game issue, and we might not want to suggest a new feature or anything.

Gotta hide that negative feedback; launch is soon.

Going to post this again for people who missed it.

Some of me isn't surprised that they've back tracked on this as there has been a 'we know better than you guys' attitude since the get go. What I am surprised about is that PGI/IPG would break Canadian Law by implementing 1st and 3rd person view in the same game after saying they wouldn't. Surely they employ someone at PGI/IPG to check these things? False advertising and misrepresentation are not something the Canadians are keen on.

Part 2 section 17 of British Columbia's Sale of goods act may be of interest to one or two people. As a Company based in Vancouver B.C. PGI are probably familier with this but I've posted a link for all the rest of you folks out there.

http://www.bclaws.ca...ide/00_96410_01

And for those who don't want to read the link:

Sale by description

17 (1) In a contract for the sale or lease of goods by description, there is an implied condition that the goods must correspond with the description.

(2) If the sale or lease is by sample, as well as by description, it is not sufficient that the bulk of the goods correspond with the sample if the goods do not also correspond with the description.

Enough said?

Because this whole 3rd person view thing is a flop I am guessing that next time this week there will be two changes:

1. There will be a mini map on the 3rd person view HUD.

&

2. They will remove the arm lock from 3rd person view.
