PGI backed themselves into a corner on the 3PV issue. They never should have promised to split the game into different queues. If they do eventually end up adding split queues it's going to divide the playerbase and cause other potential problems. If they don't add split queues then it's seen as a renege by the portion of the community that was expecting it.

But I guess this ignores the fact that a lot of people didn't want 3PV in the first place.

Silence and a repeated pattern of botched addition, bent/broken promises, and hyperbole have created this. a 25+ page thread of banter and crying. You should be imploring more communication not admonishing people over the internet.


The difference is that your opinion pretty much says, "I don't like Beta Testing" and that's fine, nothing wrong with taking a break from the game. Heck, I've been playing Sleeping Dogs, Dishonored and Darksiders 1 &2 just so I don't overload on MWO.
And yes, their communications could be better on this, but that's something people have been harping on for many months now. Reminds me something about 'kicking a dead horse'.

first start -> 1,2 GB size -> freeze, great work, spend 300€ till now (in 3 Month), will spend nothing more till this bug is fixed :)

Sad part is that it IS for competition, just not in a good way. All of the tryhards are going to be abusing this CONSTANTLY to get an edge seeing around corners and over ridges and then instantly switching back to 1PV for fighting.

IMPORTANT NOTE:    Your Weapon Groups are RESET to GROUP 1 with this patch.   DO NOT engage in Combat Until you correct your Weapon Groups.
I'm p*ssed because 27 pages of b*tching didnt mention that RESET of Weapons groups is required prior to combat - y'all need to re-evaluate your priorities.   Are you (and what you are saying) Part of the solution or part of the problem?

Given the most disenfranchised are those that actually put down large sums of money for this game. It is more like I bought a Porshe but the dealership gave me a Pinto and refuses to give me my Porshe or my money back and keeps telling me I'll enjoy the features that come with the pinto..like the exploding gas tank.

Yeah those that have not paid a dime to this game have no reason to cry or rage. Founders and Phoenix package players though....or those that actually have been buying...paint, cockpit items, camo, etc.

Well now I do have something to gripe about.

I'm stuck in a default field of view and I can't change it with the user.cfg file. I like 75 as my field of view in first person as I'm zoomed out and not making love with the cockpit screen.

Now I feel like if I hit a bump I'll smash my head through it.

Played several games, and 3PV works as wise men foretold: "Thine 3PV mode shalt be either OP or useless". Right now it is useless. Poor, poor new players locked into this sh*t...

Except that this is in the testing grounds (notice the lack of cap bars), where the timer counts up. That means 1m 43s. That's a perfectly reasonable amount of time to walk from one of the bases and find a mech that was already standing there randomly.

Please check your facts before making claims based on bad data.

Ohh, but 3PV won't effect you at all! Just use 1PV and ignore it!

The default FoV sucks.

I have to agree with Appogee. I remember when I first heard of MWO, checked out the web site, and was thrilled to read the four pillars of the game that were defined at the time, including the planned commitment to 1st person only. I am certainly not as learned in the lore and TT versions of the game as a number of folks here are, but I REALLY enjoy the MechWarrior games and could not wait to begin this new chapter! I was in the closed beta, and opted to purchase a Legendary Founder package primarily as a good faith gesture to the company who was (finally) developing a new MechWarrior game. I have been reading the forums as time allows, and watching the slow, steady movement away from what was outlined in the beginning, to a game that has morphed into some crazy mix that seems to continually change direction and intent. Now, after a number of statements indicating that there would be seperate queues for 1st and 3rd person, we are finding that will not be the case. A number of you say "it is still beta", and I truly hope you are right in thinking that when CW is introduced that there will truly be seperate queues, but at this point who knows when that will be? A number of people have offered thoughts like having a delay for deployment and recovery of the 3rd person drone, and making it destructible, which if we HAVE to have 3rd person, I think that is at least a step in the right direction for implementing it. Alas, no acknowledgement of or movement in that direction. Above all, however, is the frequent occurance of stating one thing and doing the other, and the resulting frustration! At this point, I don't think that anything said can be trusted, and it truly sucks to see the original vision gradually fade.

Okay, so the than the first person shot is not coming from Cat we see in the 3rd person shot, you moved your mech up against a building and took a screenshot (that is supposed to be from the cats perspective, apparently) to show we can't see a mech that is no longer there?
