If he bought the Phoenix Package he will probably get a refund. As far as the other money he spent they clearly misrepresented the product they were selling. This is how class action lawsuits start.

1. See guys, it's not that big of a deal. Our "data" even shows there's no advantage!

Agreed. 3rd person view sucks and no one is using it. So, by PGI logic they will keep adding things to make it overpowered. I bet it won't be long until they add the map to the HUD and remove arm lock.

Doctor its worked, direct high voltage coupled with the magnetic arrays, the study is a success. We have effectively removed the subjects ability to detect the supernatural!

Nice bombastic reaction. Just jump into options just like we all did for Arm Lock and turn it off. Then give it some time until they're done having use TEST 3PV in BETA, I haven't turned on 3PV once and haven't seen too many others use it either.

Not playing this until so called "HARDCORE" server queues are enabled.
And I want them rather quick.
Lest you want to loose another customer that wants his PP Overlord money back on the way out.

Very, very pissed off by getting lied in the face again.
As some might be able to tell ...

One poster mentioned something that I thought was more than fair. List some of the ideas we've been toying with in order for it to work. These are just SOME of the ideas we've been discussing:
  • Camera is locked horizontally to the torso. This is not a peek around corners mode.
  • Camera is locked vertically to the torso, you can only look up and down as far as your torso can.
  • When approaching cover (to rocks/building etc), the camera pulls IN so FoV is greatly reduced when standing close to something.
  • 3rd Person is not a free-cam.
  • HUD will be significantly reduced if not completely removed.
  • LOS targetting is NOT affected by 3rd person. If you cannot target it from 1st person, you cannot target it in 3rd.
  • ONLY the targeted enemy (Press R) can be identified in 3rd person... all other HUD indicators are turned off.
Again, these are a few of the ideas we're working on. Please keep that in mind when posting.

Yes I am aware they started working on third person view earlier this year. However, last year they were saying not to worry there would be no third person view. Essentially, they are trying to attract gamers by making it easier for them to see their enemy which is all third person view really accomplishes. Adding third person view is not going to attract enough players to warrant the time, money, and resources used to implement it. People are going to come play the game because they want to walk around in big robots blowing stuff up. Not because of a view. What's next? Are they going to make it even more arcadish? That is a good way they could make money! Turn it into an internet arcade style machine! Charge $0.25-$0.50 USD every time you start it up to play! Pfffffft... still lame

I told people to wait on the phoenix packages. I mean can you honestly trust people like this?

PGI I'm just disappointed. No other word describes how I feel about MWO now.

Congrats to PGI for once again only paying attention to the whiners in the community and for making the game even further away from the Mechwarrior Simulator game that we had all hoped for. Third person should, at best, be an option that can be enabled to play against other players with 3rd person enabled. Forced first person should be part of the options you can choose so that you knwo that other players in the match can not see over hills etc. Thrid person was a serious point of contention in ev ery other iteration of mechwarrior and now has infected was was starting to shape into a decent game. Way to ruin things devs.

Regarding the UAC. The jam rate was decreased, but was the jam duration increased? It's currently 5 seconds. Wasn't it 3 seconds prepatch, or am I wrong?

edit: and the AC/2 is still effected by #ghostheat #magnumopus if you have the fast fire mastery!

I believe this thread and the subject in general now contains the most <insert rage response type here>, and that's saying a lot because the introduction of the consumables (especially cool shots) had a cr*p ton of 'em. Wonder what TB and Angry Joe will say about this..........

well i certainly didnt read all 43 pages, and i expect for you to not read my post but...

the 3pv is aimed at getting new players to grow accustomed to the game more easily, and make sure they stick around long enough to put money in. its fun to see your mech and easier to pilot if you have no idea what your are doing. thats why it is toggled ON by default. a lance mate mentioned it should be opt in, not opt out. do you want a bigger community so pgi can fix the problems it created and polish this game into something we all enjoy? do you want a game to play?

also their decisions to fix this over that is looked at to make sure it makes them more money, or lose the least. i would like to see trees fall over. they wont do that until they fix other things. less players will leave for minor issues.
