I don't know whats worse forcing thirdpersonfail on me or breaking the immersion by having the camera zoom out through the damn mech body. That aint a drone camera hoving above the mech. It makes me want to poke my eyes out after having the awsome startup sequence.

What a dissapointment.

Also, yeah hotthedd I didnt buy phoenix either as I was unhappy with the direction, vote with your feet :)

An you seem like a bit of a judgementel jerk, but whatever. I assure you, I get exactly what he's going for here, but using staged screen shots is maybe not the best way to do it. Yes, 3rd person can in some very specific instances give an advantage, my biggest issues are 1) the instant nature of going between views and 2) if my enemy already knows I'm behind cover, than I give up nothing by popping a drone and "revealing" my position.

I can pretty much count on one hand the number of times I went around a corner and found a mech I didn't already know was there, and that's before the seismic sensor was brought it. Complain about 3rd person and I'll agree with a lot of what you say, but "OMG he can see around a corner, if everyone is in just the right spot in a few select places" is not one of them, because for all it's faults, this implementation of 3pv actually does pretty good with that issue.

Do you seriously think PGI are suddenly going to get with the program within 2-3 patches? It's beta only in name, they're taking my money, and still implementing features which have the backing of nobody.

Well mine were also reseted ... Partly... Luckily I tested 3PV in the traininggrounds first..^^

They dont have a PR problem... That is only a symptom.

The cause is a continuing series of illogical fixes to imaginary problems.

The community has been trying to help PGI make a stellar and fantastic game since the beginning. They were SSSOOO close, that's why we are pretty mad. PGI should have adopted the League of Legends, Starcraft & DOTA models by discussing issues with top end competitive players and making small adjustments based on feedback. Had this been done, there would be TONS of cheerleaders for this game.

3PV is nice to have a look at your new paint job, but for actual playing its pretty crappy. I really don't see how it gives me any advantage over 1PV apart from that very few instances. I really don't get all the bitching about it. In my eyes, everyone playing in 3PV is acctually putting a handicap on himself.
And before you all jump on me about the whole "PGI promised us to never have to play against 3PV players", that indeed is a completely different issue, one I'm not very happy with either.
