1. The current implementation of 3PV isn't giving enough advantages as aim is wonky, you have no map and flying bot is giving out your position.
2. Different queues are REALLY BAD way to go. MWO is a niche game with small to average audience. We don't need longer queues cause of not enough people going for hardcore or casual mode.
Now if you ask me about 1PV&3PV I'm a firm believer that 3PV is not needed at all and 1PV is the only way to go.
Serious new player experience can help newbs much more than this clunky version of 3PV. They don't understand torso twisting? Make 'em pass full tutorial mission with c-bills (and maybe even small MC) awards where virtual instructor gives careful explanation on how things work. For example you can't start playing DotA2\LoL without passing such tutorial.
Still our dear PGI believes that 3PV is needed more than tutorial. Let's thank 'em that it's version is not giving serious advantages and is total **** in terms of usability. Oh wait... this isn't helping new player experience, is it ? Newb goes into battle and thinks something like: "WTF?! Why is my reticle jumping like mountain goat?! What a crappy game!"
I really hope that people in PGI will understand that complex new player experience via single-player missions is that much better than clunky crutches of 3PV.

Edit : Just to want to make clear that with the forced 3rd person I'm out of here. Not going to play that until either it's dropped again or whatever-could-let-me-play-against-ppl.-without-3rd-person-view...
Seriously this starts to smell like someone gave PGI some free "boost your arrogance" pills a couple of weeks ago and they start to kick in. I'm really starting to wonder wether I can still opt out of the founders and phoenix programs and get my money back. There's plenty of Kickstarter projects that seem to be sticking to their promisses and surely could use the money.

This also demonstrates the tactical ineptitude of the team at their own game if they can't figure out how to game 3PV for an advantage. Oh well.

when i'm in 3rd person view my crosshairs lurch around and it's very annoying. it looks like it lurches onto mechs almost like an auto aim thing. i can also tell that it is lurching to mechs that are hidden by terrain. the cursor/crosshair is very erratic.

I told myself over and over that PGI - after they decided to "soften up" their initial position on 3PV - will somehow handle the implications. As they did successfully with many issues, although in disputable ways (*cough*heat penalties*cough).
But finally we got exactly what the 3PV opposing crowd feared from the beginning:
Free choice of 1PV and 3PV in all matches with all the negative implications that came with every implementation of 3PV in every game in the history of computer games.

I am disappointed but I love the game (because of the genre) and most likely stay around until at least October 15th
I assume that within 2 months from now it should be possible to find a satisfying solution - satisfying for the players, not PGI.
Let's hope the best, but it seems we have to fear the worst...
