I supported MWO developing 3PV, because I believed in the benefits for new players, benefits for showing off MWO's graphics, and PGI's assurances that a split queue would offer all the benefits with minimal impacts on hardcore players. I also tested 3PV and have now been shown the fool for believing you.
Even if you now believe that 3PV offers no significant advantage, open the HARDCORE queue. If the MWO player community agrees with your assessment, then that queue will be empty. Please show respect for your players, honor your word, and put your hypothesis to the test by opening the queue.

You want money I get that, but we are the ones who are paying paint your bills now.. Not these new players you are hoping for. I'm honestly not sure what more to say other then you promised and then you went back on it.

I'm glad I've never spent any money on this game, I would be asking for it back now too.
If things start looking up, I will gladly buy something. Although stuff is kinda overpriced right now.

I Felt deceived after they insisted on putting 3pv into the game after strongly implying that it would never be.
The 'no significant advantage' people should confine themselves to console gaming as they clearly
lack the intelligence for pc gaming =]
the post concerning console kiddies at a games con not getting it and what I can only assume is a rather 'slow' kid not understanding how to move their mech is very very weak.
This has how ever solved my dilemma of if I should quit this patch or wait a few months until they merge 1pv and then quit.

-I feel it gives a huge tactical advantage to scouting.
-poptarting has become much easier.
-it identifies new players for me to gank
-yes, it does seem to make my targeting easier as I whip around other mechs at 150kph.
-I don't feel its helping new players with learning movement controls
-the worst offense is that it doesn't promote team play at all. removal of the map and navigation hurts everyone on the team.
-it needs to be either on or off. if its on, let them have all the data they need to get by and show the legs. if its off, its hardmode. will it split the community, absolutely. but at least everyone will get a choice of with who, and how they want to play the game.
-as for what I will do now, that's easy, im going to farm the new players with the drones above their heads. fast spider attacking from long ranges and with the new 3pv I can now look over the ridges to see that I wont get sniped on approach. hopefully by the time I get bored hardcore mode will be in.

Nobody is using 3pv anyway. At the start of every match you see all the little camera drones disappear, maybe one or two people still have them on when they start moving.
How's that for feedback nobody likes 3pv and somebody at pgi decided to feed the trolls by making the pov keybind F4, rofl

Actually booted up my computer and found the announcement.... Not to be all political or anything but the only thing a man has (or company in this instance) in the end is his word.
Bad move PGI, it's going to be a rough road getting your player base to trust you again.
Time to go buy all my old armored core games again and play those for a while until this gets fixed. If it doesn't, see ya, no more money from me.

Even I used 3PV to get my situational awareness to a level in the combat flights Sim IL-2 Sturmovik so I could improve my piloting skill and then be on the same level like the other players/pilots/aces I faced in the Events like the global "Virtual Online War" (WW2 Plane Combat reenacted 1939 - 1945).
But for me, because I can control and manage a Plane or a Tank or now my Mech's in my sleep, I want the challenge, battle with players on the same level and that’s playing in the 1PV queue.
And still, after seeing the Screenshots where you can still see in 3PV, Mechs or objects around the corner when you don't or can't see that in 1PV in any way other to expose yourself or go out of your cover. That is an advantage plain and simple. You only need to relay that info on your Lance per TeamSpeak.
But if in this situation the enemy can still see the "Cam drone" hovering above the hill or whatever, than its fair game. The enemy can see that there is one looking in 3PV over the hill and they can react to that. You need to be quick about it to deploy and retract the drone to not reveal yourself. That is something to get Verified and tested with my buddy's. I need to get that done.
But I will also say there will be some way to get around it, Players will always do that. So to be sure we still need a hard option to disable this ability. Nearly every game has it like a game option or even a separate queue (See War Thunder).
So I will look forward to the introduction of the 1PV queue later and I really hope it is coming. I know its work and sometimes it takes more time but please stay on it. We need a 1PV queue.

The problem is 3pvs very existence threatens the integrity of the game in serveral ways.
1. Such implementation was made despite widespread disagreement with said feature amongst the playerbase. - Why would you waste time & resources developing a feature that nobody is asking for?
2. It does not achieve it's goal. - It doesn't really help new players at all, but instead opens up new exploit possibilities into the game. In addition, this is not even the best method of easing new players into the game, a tutorial and training grounds would be much better suited to such a task.
3. Splitting/reducing community. - Your intentions of creating two seperate queues into the game only splits the playerbase. Infact, the mere existence of 3pv intensely upsets your playerbase.
4. ITS ON BY DEFAULT!!! - Probably the biggest issue, its on by default? WHY!???
In my opinion, the best course of action at this point would be to stop all development relating to 3pv or related queues, remove 3pv from the game, and announce its removal. 3PV is a lose-lose situation for everyone!
