I Guess the the advantages are clear. Better overview of the battlefield and the ability to see over obstacles. I was quite surprised by the built in "Aimbot" that lets your crosshair jump the last bit when moving towards a target by the way. Now i also have to be afraid of teammate’s accidently shooting at my back.

To sum it all up... Worst implementation ever! In which universe could this play well together or be anyway near balanced?

Dear Mr. Ekman. The biggest disappointment for me is that we don’t seem to be able to trust your promises anymore.

IMHO this is also a big fail in communication on PGI part. Why not mention decisions like this in the Patchnotes or even better in advance in your Command Chair Forums.

You want to rethink it? Ok, go ahead, but don’t take the fun out of this game for us during that time.
Activate Hardcore Mode or do a Rollback. IMHO these are your only choices to salvage this situation.

The fix would be to remove 3rd person until the split ques are put in.... /thread

Two things things I don't understand:

PGI says:
We want it to show new players the orientation between the torso and legs. But you can only see the hips.
We want it to be easy for new players to understand the game. But you can't aim accurately.


- Also, "Armlock is engaged in 3PV". But my Jagermech's arm reticle(o) goes to the side of my torso reticle(+) when turning, which is a bug I guess, so I'm reporting it. Which shouldn't even happen since my Jager is missing that actuator...


Anyways... What a mess and a waste of time just to help players orientate themselves... I hope it works, otherwise I'm handing in my resignation. Never thought I'd say that... but man. If it doesn't work, and if all these problems aren't even worth it? What a waste of time.

A complete waste of time....

Should have been put to the bottom and focused on making the game better so that new players, even though they are incompetent and cannot figure out the controls, might like the game for it's deep engaging combat and give it a chance to actively seek out how to play the game.... but w.e. Hind sight is 20/20.

New players will come... and they'll go... It's like an amusement park, admission is free, the ticket booth is right after that, but there's no good rides to go on... so the tickets don't have value... and they realise the free admission was just to get them in the door, and when they realise all of this, they see the ticket booth as a dirty, dishonest, money grab.

Sorry PGI. I'm usually a little more understanding than this... But those are my honest thoughts. That is exactly what I am thinking right now. You might go "MoonUnitBeta.. You're nothing to me now..." And that's fine. But that's the attitude that's killing you. I gave advise how to help 3PV in the test feedback, but nothing that i said was concidered. I pointed out problems. like the two that I listed up top... And nothing. Nothing was fixed. There's not a single difference between this one and that test server one.

Oh well... At least i can see my paint job, i guess. I'll try to keep a more positive and optimistic attitude like I usually do...... but you're not making it easy.... :P

I also hear there is no screen shake for missile an other hits. If this is the way the game is going to be played Shake needs to be universal for the warriors. In cockpit or as the eyes of the divine.

right out of the mech4 handbook, and why every1 in mech4 started playing 3PV instead. we definitely need the shake...wtf PGI!!!

CAUTION THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS REAL FEEDBACK. READING OF THIS MAY INFORM THE VIEWER THAT SOMEONE HAS AN OPINION ABOUT THE ACTUAL MECHANIC AND NOTHING ELSE

In the lower level games which I play it does not appear that the mechanic is working as designed. I can't speak for the "hardcore" folk out in the ether but for us newbies the new perspective is nearly as confusing as the fist person one. I do not think that this is beneficial to the new player in its current itteration and would recomend a comprehensive tutorial in its stead. I see ones and twos using it but most will take a gander at their pretty pretty robot back and switch.

As a follow on, if others have strong opinions about the business practices of the fellows making this game I feel that there are better places to do it. It looks as though you have a solid argument but, responding angrily will more than likely not yield you anything.

So 3rd Person View kind of sux yeah? Seems to be a bit buggy. I turned it on, tried to move around a little bit. I just feel more comfortable in first person. But still, being able to see where you normally couldn't is really useful and really lame.

I don't want to bother with 3PV and I don't want to play in games where others can use it. I can't believe time and money was wasted on this.

Pretty sure on patch days after the patch comes out the whole pgi offices goes down the street to a local bar and gets hammered. Then they come back the next morning to deal with all problems created by the patch. We all need to speak softly because when they read this they will be very hung over.

That the whole "we need 3PV to help new players"-thing was a blatant lie should have been clear from the beginning. After all, the game doesn't have a fricking tutorial, the most basic thing that would teach new players how to align their legs and play the game. Introducing a new view mode that alienates half of your customer base and doesn't really help new players before even trying to implement a proper tutorial would have been even too dumb for PGI, so there must have been other reasons.

Don't. He's entitled to his opinion. And he's my bro in the Death Hands Brigade and I still support him. But I don't support his viewpoint, and we don't agree when it comes to this. Let's try to be civil about this.

Let's express our displeasure as to what PGI has done, but let's do it as adults, keep it clean, state the facts, state how you feel about PGI's recent stance, but keep it clean please.

But I don't mind saying to PGI that they've seriously dropped the ball on this one.

Funny thing is they threw this in right after X2 XP so when we all log in just for the 2x GXP they can point and say "Look the player base is still there!!!" :P

What a complete waste of time and assets by PGI. No, it's actually far worse than that. Not only did they waste their resources, they infuriated the playerbase....on purpose.... It's effing mind boggling
