STOP PLAYING.
I know it will be hard, it's a game we all love. But stop playing until they release what they have promised - separate queues.

Couldn't agree more!
If I play this game again, will be to see if they did anything to change the 3PV or the seperate queues, other than that, as of this patch I have much better options of other games to choose from.

This is extremely disappointing in the extreme....this whole thing. This whole game that i was so excited about for so long....just no longer holds my interest. Since the April 2nd patch, iv'e pretty much only been playing on patch day, just because i had some hope of things improving. Now...i dunno man...PGI broke faith. You can't fix that with a patch...

Well, that was fun.
Definitely in a holding pattern right now. Will have to see how they respond, give them a chance to reply to the feedback and see how things will progress.

Hey, look, it's Colonic "They will never renege on their promise to split the queues at the launch of 3rd person view" Panda Venison, making more statements that surely have equal factual weight as the ones that made him so famous!

This is no longer my main game. Sure I'll play a game now and again and will probably buy something that I like and want but I'm past the point of caring where MWO goes and will not be spending on it like I used to... meaning no more GXP conversions, no more paints/camos, no need for cockpit fluff. I've played MMOs for over a decade so spending $20 (minimum) per month to sustain my main game was nothing (still a cheap hobby). I had no problems buying normal mechs for MC if I liked it and wanted it.
The motivation is gone. I'll just treat this game like a casual fling instead of upkeeping the missus.
It's the respect PGI deserves.

I am done with the game unless the queues get separated, is too bad the devs must tell so many mis-truths to sell their game. I guess I am just glad I did not buy into Phoenix package (I predicted they would merge the queues [as so many of us did]).

That is irrelevant. The reason everybody is flipping out is because it is another bare face lie from pgi. Their focus is on revenue generation at the expense of gameplay.
3pv is primarily a push to increase uptake on camo/paint sales. As you said yourself it is terrible to play and I can't imagine it actually being beneficial for new players. You can't even see your own legs.

I'm going to go play in some Tesla Firestorm Pods this weekend. That will have to be how I get my Mechwarrior itch scratched until 3rd person gets scrapped or shoveled into it's own queue.

It never would be 3PV.
Then it miiiiight be.
And now it is! SURPRISE! ...at the flip of a button. Give me convenience, or give me death.
You can see everything around you at the minimal cost of your minimap, which you don't care about at the moment as you are flipping around your mech with your eyeballs.
And then you flip back.
No competitive advantage? Really?
Rounding corners just became easy-mode. What's one of the quickest ways to lose armor? Round a corner and find 5 enemy mechs waiting for you, immobile to spoil Seismic. Now? Stop 15 meters away from the corner, conveniently behind your building/rock/hill/plane/etc. Merely hit F4 (or whatever it's mapped to) and crane around and view what could have been a hellacious firefight and half your armor vaporized... but NOT anymorrrrrrrrre!! Hahahahaha-ha-haah... ha heh... aw, frell it.
At least one (or more) of these statements is true:
PGI doesn't care about competitions.
PGI doesn't test with competitions in mind.
PGI's ersatz "play-testers" have no clue about competition play.
PGI's management now doesn't care if they lie to their populace; the money is theirs and save a refund it'll stay that way.
I'm just sickened.

Paul started reading this thread, then immediately went to work updating his resume. As should everyone at PGI if they don't remove this fast.
Besides, it's not like they were lacking feedback on the subject of 3pv

My 2 cents...
I don't like 3PV games. Never have, they look like arcade games and dumb down the experience for me. I'm not a hardcore sim geek, but I do like immersion and the spectacle of realism and 1PV does that for me.
That said, I REALLY like that you didn't implement "hardcore" and "standard" mode queues like you originally stated. Why? Because it would gravitate new players towards sticking with 3PV, and eventually the game would be played by a small queue of 1PV stalwarts and a ton of 3PV gamers, neither wanting to compromise their playstyles to join forces. I think eventually the game would have splintered and probably "hardcore" mode would have been eliminated due to limited resources at PGI, or dwindling interest in 1PV. Even the term "hardcore" is enough to dissuade most casual gamers from attempting to play it--gamers that would do very well in 1PV otherwise.
If this game is to be successful, and if 3PV helps bring in players, then you really can't split the playerbase. You need to create incentives for players to switch to 1PV. It's a thin line your walking though, because if you gimp 3PV too much, then new players will get frustrated and not even attempt 1PV with all the benefits.
This should be fully explained in your upcoming tutorials. Tell them that 3PV is a TRAINING AID and to really excel at MWO they need to get into the cockpit. Perhaps have a series of canned missions (10 or so) where the new player starts off in 3PV then moves to 1PV in order to "graduate" and unlock some goodies.
