As for having no right for a refund or say. We are all beta testers that have been asked to spend money on a code that we are ALL testing, because we are being promised certain things that are being ignored. This actually gives us rights because we are NOT consumers as this is NOT released product. The Consumer Protection Laws in certain countries are quite powerful.
The motivating a community in this fashion will be difficult if time is lost on the matter, as anger is an emotion that will die down to boredom. Other free to play games that are currently successful are so because they listen to their communities. They understand that they can only be strong because they have a community and if they fail to treat them well even with a great product they will drop active player base. One thing I have discussed with others is that there is a desperate need for a public relations team with an experienced community manager that has his or her job on the line for some of these mistakes that keep on happening. Just because of holidays there have been now multiple face palms that has angered the community. This is of course what has been said. The trust of certain employees has been lost towards the community at the moment. An entire new outlook on promotions (Assault vs World drives light pilots away), patch notes (full detail written up 1 day prior, with maybe a simple video of main features and why), public relations (release of information on the site not on PC Gamer), community feed back (ask the dev's back in FULL), explain why No light Mechs in 2 rotations, general forums, rotate the closed testing server testers, player counts and regular updates on projects is urgently required to start getting the community back on side.
That said I am on board personally. Even if I am a member of a community or faction I will lend my support. The mass sync drop could be classed as a DDos, but the absence from the game for a number of days would give interesting data from the servers. I would encourage the communities to run fun day's or other game days (non MW:O) to keep their communities going and having fun during the break.

You're half a year too late. Give or take a month.

ARMD fully supports this measure.
I would like to suggest 1 more thing to increase the WTF factor.
After the drop, assuming we don't crash the servers, everyone partaking who gets in to a game needs to disconnect immediately after start up. And preferably not come back for while. Maybe do this every hour on the hour for a whole day shifting from peak times through out the world. Should play havoc with their servers.

Just looking at our TS server. Normally would have about 30-40 guys playing. There are 2. This says so much about PGI that I just cannot describe it.

Yep, we do have people dropping, always do... but it has gone downhill fast.

Slide, good idea mate.
We too would normally have around 20 - 30 guys playing from either Oceanic or Europe (being 00:20)... currently we have 4!
Other people on TeamSpeak are playing any game other than MWO, which is saying something.

Tabrias, thanks for your support mate but I do need to reiterate that this thread and the goal behind is not Officially endorsed or supported by the Command Staff of DHB or DHB as a unit.
I must make this very clear, my support for this is on a Personal level as a "paying customer" of MechWarrior Online.
it is also given as a Fan of MWO and what it was originally intended and explained to be over 18 months ago.
Regards,

Regards,
Seems like you're in the vast majority with your group though.

That being said...
I think the call to action is a mistake. While it may feel like there is a lot of support for it, the vast majority of people just don't care. Of those remaining, most won't bother to log on. If you can get 50 people to drop in support of this, I'd be surprised. You'll end up with the sync droppers in a few matches yelling loudly in chat while a handful of pugs that just happened to be there wonder what the hell is going on.
These things *never* work out. While you see the Goons tout numbers like how over 5000 people are participating in #savemwo, the fact is those numbers are horribly gamed with things like this:
Quote
Durkan and Kerbango, on behalf of Last Mech Standing (~1000 players)
I guarantee that Anders, Durkan and Kerbango are not speaking for 2500 people. A number of those people have probably dumped money into Overlord packages during this whole incident and wisely kept their mouths shut.
Never overestimate your own assets.

Heffay,
I appreciate you reminding everyone that this is not a DHB Supported or endorsed action, as I previously stated within my post.
I understand your position and feelings on this matter an I'm glad that you ahve voiced your opinion and DHB is divided on this issue with MWO and the individual feelings and thoughts are what count.
There is no right or not wrong viewpoint its a matter or personal opinion.
We are not about touting numbers, we are trying to effect change and hopefully make PGI aware that we are not a "vocal minority" that has been used to describe people like myself and a lot of members of DHB and other units around the world and in the MWO Oceanic Community.
Youre right when you say "the majority of people dont care" , this is about the people WHO DO CARE about MWO and the game they love.
If we can get those people involved in the call to action, then maybe just maybe PGI will listen to their dedicated core group of players and fans and we will see some positive change.
If not at least I know I can walk away from this game knowing I did everything I could to try and make the game better for my Brigade, my friends, my comrades from the other Oceanic Units and for the Community as a whole.

Keep in mind that most people in DHB (and my guess, for the majority of units who claim to be speaking for their members here) haven't said a word about 3PV and their position on it. It would be a mistake to assume that silence implies endorsement, for *either* of our positions. Silence only means they don't care enough about the topic to post about it.
When Anders claims to speak for 1500 Goons, I'm ... let's just say skeptical. I'm willing to bet money that some of those 1500 members have bought Overlord packages since 3PV came out.
