I can't fix it. I just gotta scrap it, and start over.

I'm now mulling over whether keeping the Warhammer or not.

I'd lose it, personally. It's gotten to be the 'I'm a hero!' badge of the BT world from the fluff I've read on Sarna. If they're destined to change the universe or simply need labelled as a bad*ss, they're in a Warhammer.
I almost gave Mad Jack one just to misbehave, but I decided the Jager was more fitting.

The Black Knight is Star League Lostech-- unless you happen to find one in a long lost cache, you're out of luck.

no it isn't. according to solaris 7, the black knight was in TRO 3025 in the revised edition.

http://www.solaris7....ech_HTML&ID=585

BL-7-KNT - The BL-7 Black Knight is the downgraded version of the 'Mech produced during the Succession Wars following the Kong Interstellar Corporation's factories on Connaught in 2802. Production of the BL-7-KNT began in 2809 and continued until the CCAF destroyed the plant in 2820. The Endo Steel chassis was replaced with a Technicron Standard chassis which, while keeping the weapons payload and engine the same, required a reduction in overall armor protection by two tons. Kong Interstellar also replaced the communications system with the Tek BattleCom system and the targeting and tracking systems with a Tek Tru-Trak system.

it isn't exactly a common mech, but it isn't lostech either.

and an example of one that still exists by the end of the succession wars.

BL-6-KNT Black Knight Ian - Downgraded during the technological decline of the Succession Wars era, the personal 'Mech of the McKinnon family was selected to receive among the first experimental weapons developed from the Helm Memory Core by the New Avalon Institute of Science, thanks to the exploits of Fox's Teeth commander Ian McKinnon. When piloted by Ian during the War of 3039, the 'Mech was clad in prototype Ferro-Fibrous armor and the standard heat sinks outside the engine were replaced with corrosive 3039 era double heat sinks. These weight savings, along with the removal of the head-mounted small laser, allowed the 'Mech to carry a Hatchet whose damage was boosted by the addition of Triple Strength Myomers[16]. BV (2.0) = 1,830

edited to clarify.

TSM in 3039? Dang. Guy's lucky he's still alive. At that time it hadn't been perfected yet, and when the material was exposed to certain gases it would *ahem* react violently. Add to that the fact that it's running throughout the mech AND you're probably in combat... Yeah, Mr. McKinnon's one lucky SOB. TSM wasn't truly perfected until 3050 by the Capellans.

who would flood a battlefield full of gas to take out an experimental system used in exactly one battle as a trap? especially considering it is one mech.

also, i like rubbing that in various davions faces when they poke fun at us.

Interesting. We're both right. :D

The Black Knight was not included in the original 3025 TRO. It was included in the 2750 TRO as a Star League Lostech design.

However, it looks like FASA published a revised 3025 TRO in 1996, and they pushed some of the original Lostech models forward into the Succession Wars era in order to fill the gaps caused by the removal of all the Unseen models. I can't say that I like that, but I guess FASA did indeed declare the Black Knight available during the Succession Wars.

I stand corrected.

stuff happens. i noticed it was in the revised one as well when i was doing more research on it, and edited my post about 10 minutes ago to reflect that. that was likely after you started looking at the page so you wouldn't have seen it.

Dammit, Thom, now I know how it's going to end. Though an 80 ton assault 'Mech in a pool of mediums isn't hard to spot as the potential winner...

Not too sure about that, Sparky. Say said 80 tonner was a Victor, and someone knocked out it's main gun. In this case it's an AC20. Would the techs have the time and supplies to fix it?

And who would know that that one mech had the TSM?

Elimination status just like the 'March Madness' tourney. Your first fight begins at 6pm and if you win, you fight again at 6pm the next day.... so 32 to 16, to 8, to 4, to 2, to the victor...

really the only reason i was thinking about the rush tourney, was because i know how long it takes for us to move a week in rp time...

simple, why would rainbow stables pick up a random mech pilot straight off the dropships when after a landslide victory vs freaking death commandos, even though it was technically a draw most would consider it a victory, every mechwarrior with a mech, and a lot of them without one, is basically attempting to climb the gates to get into said stable? Face it, with a win like that you guys would be hot stuff on solaris. at least for the time being.

Takeo has to stand out in some variety above the standard riff-raff to even get the time of day now. a single match win probably wouldn't work either(basically it would be between no-names, or he would be thrown to the wolves in a match that was designed to boost some bigger name's ego. unless he pulled a major upset in the second one, which would probably be a 16 man free for all, so yeah...). a non-inconsequential tourney win would basically be required to get any sort of attention at all.

so basically the level of OP that is an urbanmech made it so we have to be at least somewhat exceptional in order to actually join the main plot. least if you want the story to make sense.
