Name: Viktor von Strachwitz (actually Chuck Roman...)
Group: Character has been a member of the Lyran Guards in the other games I've played him, but no affiliation in this one yet.
Background: Every MechWarrior PC game since the original MW:2 (including all expansions and most mods), both MechCommander games, tabletop BattleTech, MW:DA and AOD, and the MechWarrior RPG. Never been into the online play much (as, heresy for a Lyran, I prefer Medium or even Light 'Mechs most of the time), but this looks promising, so I'm gonna give it a try.
Other Interests: Reenactor, Gunsmith, Researcher, and Wannabe Writer
Character Info: Negelring grad (Class of '35), specialist in Medium 'Mechs. Stresses accuracy and efficiency in the training of himself and his troops. Is quite happy leading a Kompanie (or even a reinforced Lance), though he wouldn't mind a chance to prove himself in a higher command. Laid back and gregarious, but also with a bad temper and the ability to hold a grudge for a long, long time. Is quite happy with the current FedCom Alliance, but his first and foremost loyalty is always to the Lyran Commonwealth and its Archon. Takes his duties seriously and thinks of himself as a professional, career soldier- which helps him get on well with the House Davion forces he increasingly serves alongside. Unmarried, no children: the Army is his life, and he loves every minute of it.
My personal info: I'm 31, married (with no children) and live in Central New York. I'm a US Army Veteran (19K), medically discharged in 1999. Worked in Law Enforcement almost ten years until I blew out my knee and resigned rather than be out of work for over a year and then have to go back to it (I didn't like the job very much...). Been into BattleTech since about the time they brought in the Clans, but I prefer the era before 3050. I have read every CBT, MW, and MW:DA novel that I've been able to acquire, though a few of the really early titles have eluded me. At one point I also owned every TRO and House Book published by FASA, though my collection has dwindled since they closed their doors- DA was alright, but didn't keep my interest as well. I have high hopes for this one.
