So who runs this group of people ... who is your unofficial official leader ?

Actually for the MPBT community which is the largest group, Wildhog is the current Archon and House Leader for Steiner. If this will translate into the game or community here is another story but Steiner does have a current Archon figure head.

Sorry Moku, missed this!

Name: Hpt. General Starkiller, Ford Theater XO

Group:Black Hearts (CO in absention due to House Position)

Background:Started playing DnD in 6th grade through the Gifted Program and loved PnP gaming immediately. Had a guy in the Air Force show me Battletech when I was in the Marines in Okinawa and loved it! Started playing with some guys in college after the Marines and one night they showed me MPBT on Genie and let me play for a bit (1993) but I did not have my own rig at the time so it was not until 1997 when I got a PC capable of playing to get into the www.freempbtonline.com beta and play the Solaris version for the first time. After talking with people I came to realize they were playing on AoL so I eventually got my own account and played there until I got my first bill for $700.00+ bucks and took a haiatus until Gamestorm in 1999. Joined up with the same group I had played with in 1997, Comm Guard and eventually became the XO and the New Syrtis PDZ CO in preperation for the launch of 3025. I eventually became disenfranchised with all the bickering in Davion and went solo. At this point I had moved in with my girl friend who was apart of D.O.C, Catwoman. They kept after me to play MW4 with them as I was solo so I eventually joined them. As 3025 got closer I was asked to start up the Black Hearts as the 5th and final regiment for the D.O.C. Brigade and to be Mad Khans Theater XO for Ford Theater. We went on to dominate 3025 even to the point of having the first heavy in the game earned by a member of the Black Hearts and never abandoning our Theater to be overrun while we were online, until the announcement that the game would be shutdown. We moved to MW4 with D.O.C. and eventually went on to split off from D.O.C. and was asked to become House Kurita for Season 2 in WAR!Online. We collborated with 4 other MW units and formed House Kurita and retained a successful House Kurita for W!O, Empire and P2K leagues for several years until we moved into MMOs with the launch of L2 where we maintained the name House Kurita. After we moved on from L2 we no longer used the House Kurita name and went back to the Black Hearts as the other units had all moved back to doing other things at this point. We have also played SWG (along side some HoS guys heya Payne and Gator! short span) WoW (short span horrible game), Vanguard (merged with 4 guilds for raiding on the pvp server as Fallout), Age of Conan (as Fallout), Warhammer Online (as Black Hearts), Lord of the Rings Online (as Fallout), Rift (as Fallout and reverted back to Black Hearts on server transfer), Star Wars the Old Republic (as Black Hearts). We have maintained a high tradition of being a server leader/server first/world first guild in almost every game we have played.
Other Interests: I loved MMOs, PnP gaming, Battletech and even worked for FASA as a Marauder for years teaching people to play and running conventions. I love my wife I met in MPBT:Solaris and my kids! Love Battletech and DnD!

Name: Haden "Hadespwr" McNair
Group: 22nd Skye Rangers, 4th Lyran Regulars, Tamar Cavaliers
Background:

I've always been attached to the BattleTech community although apparently at the end of a long rope. I started playing BattleTech as at around the age of seven and dropped it in favor of Warhammer 40K (which I still play today). My reintroduction to the BattleTech universe came with Mechwarrior 2, then MechCommander 1 and Desperate Measures although that was short lived (I didn't have a computer that could run those at the time so I played a cyber cafe). Then MechWarrior 3, 4, Mercs, MechCommander 2, Assault Tech 1 and finally I decided just last month ago that I was going to get back into BattleTech table top.

Despite being introduced to BattleTech at an early age and now being 22-years-old, the more I read-up on the BattleTech franchise and lore the more I realize just how much I missed during those fourteen years. It wasn't until around the age of eighteen that I really dove into the BattleTech lore to see just what this universe was about. I've been doing that research on-and-off for four years now and yet there is still so much more I have yet to learn. Many aspects of the BattleTech universe blur with time for me and I find I have to keep reminding myself of things. For instance I almost am always negligent of what goes on in the Kerensky Cluster because I forget that yes, the Clans existed outside of the Inner Sphere for a long period of time prior to to 3050. I have to remember that the Inner Sphere is not just composed of the Lyran Commonwealth/Alliance, Federated Suns, Draconis Combine, Free Worlds Leage and Capellan Confederation but also Free Rasalhague Republic/Dominion, ComStar, Word of Blake, Terran Hegemony, Rim Worlds Republic, Marian Hegemony, so on and so forth.

One thing I remember with absolute clarity however is the political, economic and military structure of the Lyran Commonwealth and House Steiner. Their history is something that never seems to fade from me, from the founding states of the Skye Federation, Tamar Pact and the Protectorate of Donegal, to the Mardsen Coup to the Dark Years, House Steiner, the rise and fall of the Star League, Succession Wars and the Federated Commonwealth, the Clan Invasions and the desperate war against Jade Falcon, the FedCom civil war and the Free Skye Movement, etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum.

I also know of the atrocious history of social generalship, the deadly internal family feuds and repeated burdens the Lyran people bore due to the negligence, arrogance and haughtiness of their leaders. And how well the Commonwealth prospered under the benign and stern reign other leaders. I don't say that the Lyran people have suffered the most at the hands of their own state, the Capellans have the Lyrans beat on that one, but the history of the Lyran people is nonetheless filled with a tumultuous combination of prosperity and hardship. For over 800 years through thick and thin, light and dark, the Lyran people have endured any in many cases its soldiers fought and died under the command of incompotent generals and still they came out on top. So then perhaps the thing that appeals to me the most about the Lyran Commonwealth/Alliance (NOT necessarily House Steiner) is the capacity of its people to overcome struggles without and within.

Yeah so I guess that's where I stand now. I've always fought on the side of the Lyran people. Whether that means fighting for or against House Steiner during the Civil War...well, that will remain to be de-*hiss-THWAK!*, hey, what's that funny feeling? *falls over unconscious*.

Name:Kharn597 ( my old call sign was something like "Gandalf" but mispelled in MPBT 2025)

Group: Steiner (Strife) 5th RCT "Ghost Legion" of the Dixie Military District

Background: I've played MW 2, 3, 4 series, MW Commander, MPBT 2025 and Battletech the table top game(FASA version). While beta testing for MPBT 2025, I became involved with the Steiner 5th Regimental Combat Team "Ghost Legion" of the Dixie Military District. From some old documents I just found, I was assigned to the 3rd lance "Whispers" of the Ice Wolf Company of the 1st Battlation of the 5RCT. Here is an old website for this company. The website is a little out of date as the Regiment Commander is listed as Col. Monk with LtCol. Shadow and Hauptmann-Kommandant Shadow as seconds.

http://icewolves.20m.com/custom.html

After the end of MPBT 2025, it transitioned over to MW 4 and eventually the regiment was combinded with another one. I can not remember at this time which regiment the 5 RCT joined. If there are old member of the 5RCT out there, I would like to jion back up with them. Otherwise I will be looking for a new Steiner regiment to jion.

Other Interests: Warhammer 40,000 (books, tabletop, and computer games), NWNs 1 and 2, D&D, Forgotten Realms,Star Trek, Fire Fly, almost any sci-fi and most fantasy.

Name: Christopher Dayson
Callsign: Rum
Group: Freelance (For the moment)
Specialties: Energy Weapons and SRM's.
Favored Mech: Wolverine WVR-9W
Background: MW 1-4 and Offshoots, Crescent Hawk, etc etc. More TableTop (Started BT in 89) Used to play MW3 a /lot/ online, never played 4 online.

Christopher Dayson was born a Baronet on Chahar and likely would remain such until his father Devon Dayson (Cousin to Duke Kochbar) died and he inherited the title. As the only garrison force on the planet is held by Comstar and in an attempt to increase his families political power Christopher left Chahar to head to the Blackjack school of combat training after testing impressively high in the sims. In order to get the best experience he could Dayson took the callsign 'Rum' and is looking to join a merc group to gather experience without it being granted to him by virtue of title, so that when he eventually commands he doesn't get his people killed through inadequate strategy. Have Mech, will travel.

Group: 10th Lyran Guard
Rank: Leftenant
Mech of Choice: Devastator/King Crab (Depending)
Background: Got into it with Mechwarrior 2, then Mechwarrior 2: Mercs and followed it along. Admittedly got disappointed when MW4 and all that rolled around because it felt like it had devolved in terms of what the weapons did and such. My table top experience began with Mechwarrior 2nd Edition, which is what got me hooked. I got into BattleForce and CityTech, where I got notorious with my King Crab Mwahaha! Take that, Atlas! My character in 2nd edition was Kallende Kerensky, born Kallende Rathwynne, the illegitimate daughter of Natasha Kerensky. She was left with a minor noble family in the hopes that she might have a chance at a different life but as things go, she eventually found out her unique heritage anyway.

I should have come in here earlier...

Name: Lyon
Group: Wild Hog's House Steiner
Background: all the Battletech/Mechwarrior games, starting with Mechwarrior 1, while stationed in Germany with the USAF.

I know Starkiller by voice, having played both with and against him in War!Online, where I ran the FWL from season 2 on. I've been an FWL fanatic for so long, it almost seems like treason to go with the Lyrans, but in the end, I know more Lyrans from working with them than any other faction/unit. Names like Journeyman, Dragon (hi, Tony! Met ya when I too lived in Fairhope long ago), and Hotrod are far more familiar than what I've seen in the FWL forums, so House Steiner is an easy choice for me. I'm working on bringing over the rest of my FWL unit now.

Name: Hauptmann Streiger
Callsign: still need a good one
Group: Tamar Jaeger
Personal Background: first experience with MW2, MW3 and TT followed shortly - no so many TT games in last time because of a notorious lack of opfor players. I trend to large scale assault operations - that means that most TT games tend to last some days (a 4 day battle against my brother is the maximum)

Other Interests: playing with son :P actual baby toys only - lets see when it is the first mech :D

Character Background:need some rewriting Denis Streiger was initial part of the 26th Lyran Guards...some minor operation vs FRR mostly driven by Lord Kelswa, killed in final battle vs ClanWolf - its mech a Zeus was recoverd - together with some refugees his wife and son made it offplanet. The Zeus was given to his brother in law - affiliated with the 10th Skye Ranger - action on Glengary and Coventry - was serious injured during the last day of battle on Coventry - its son Karl however made it through Sanglamore and was one of the youngest officers of the new Skye Jaeger. He saw a lot of operations during Jihad - but after 20years of war he went into retirement when Skye Jaeger join the LCS instead of the republic...

Name: Viktor von Strachwitz (actually Chuck Roman...)

Group: Character has been a member of the Lyran Guards in the other games I've played him, but no affiliation in this one yet.

Background: Every MechWarrior PC game since the original MW:2 (including all expansions and most mods), both MechCommander games, tabletop BattleTech, MW:DA and AOD, and the MechWarrior RPG. Never been into the online play much (as, heresy for a Lyran, I prefer Medium or even Light 'Mechs most of the time), but this looks promising, so I'm gonna give it a try.

Other Interests: Reenactor, Gunsmith, Researcher, and Wannabe Writer

Character Info: Negelring grad (Class of '35), specialist in Medium 'Mechs. Stresses accuracy and efficiency in the training of himself and his troops. Is quite happy leading a Kompanie (or even a reinforced Lance), though he wouldn't mind a chance to prove himself in a higher command. Laid back and gregarious, but also with a bad temper and the ability to hold a grudge for a long, long time. Is quite happy with the current FedCom Alliance, but his first and foremost loyalty is always to the Lyran Commonwealth and its Archon. Takes his duties seriously and thinks of himself as a professional, career soldier- which helps him get on well with the House Davion forces he increasingly serves alongside. Unmarried, no children: the Army is his life, and he loves every minute of it.

My personal info: I'm 31, married (with no children) and live in Central New York. I'm a US Army Veteran (19K), medically discharged in 1999. Worked in Law Enforcement almost ten years until I blew out my knee and resigned rather than be out of work for over a year and then have to go back to it (I didn't like the job very much...). Been into BattleTech since about the time they brought in the Clans, but I prefer the era before 3050. I have read every CBT, MW, and MW:DA novel that I've been able to acquire, though a few of the really early titles have eluded me. At one point I also owned every TRO and House Book published by FASA, though my collection has dwindled since they closed their doors- DA was alright, but didn't keep my interest as well. I have high hopes for this one.
