Spiders Hit Boxes Are Terrible!

I was circling around the enemy with my Catapult CPL-C1 - I have 4 med lazers and 1x lrm15 and 1x lrm20 on it. I met a spider on my adventures. now I'm a heavy, this is a light unit on on its own, so lets shoot at this little fella and make him run away so I can get into a good position... wrong - this spider had a few pulse lasers on it I had 4x med lasers as I said so im hitting 20 a shot. it inhaled me, every shot I took I hit it, never missed once!
it spread damage so well over the entire thing that it didnt even have all its armour taken out in the end and i hit it it in the centre most times, I died a fiery death - had my centre torso destroyed.
why can most mechs pinpoint damage most other mechs apart from the spider?

The problem is only exacerbated with the Spider because it's small, fast, and agile. It's hard to hit anyways, regardless of hit registration. But when I shoot a shut down Atlas with an AC/20 to the center torso 90 meters away and my reticule doesn't even blink red, or I shoot a stationary Commando with an AC/20 THREE TIMES point blank in the center torso and my reticule doesn't blink red, don't tell me it's just the Spider with these problems.
Once hit registration is fixed the only thing that will keep the Spiders alive are their size and speed/maneuverability. Stop calling for a nerf for a problem that doesn't exist. Blame the problem, not the victim.

He is correct but it is way more apparent with the Spiders. I dont know of a single person who hasnt hit a spider point blank with a full alpha and only his CT and arm turn yellow. At a minimum the entire arm should be gone or he should be dead. time and time again, people have posted spider problems and the Devs know they are broken but dont know how to fix them. Ive said this before. If something is stupid broken, OP, low, high, hitbox, lag shiled, God mode...take the GD thing out of game until you know how to fix it. Dont leave it in game for months on end until you figure out a band aid. My 2 cents.

A lone Catapult CPL-C1, with only torso mounted lasers, decides to take on a Spider using just his torso mounted lasers. It turns out he has trouble using his torso mounted lasers to hit the smallest and most agile mech - almost as if his torso mounted lasers and heavy mech were poor choices for this task. To reiterate, this task is one of hitting a small, fast moving target with TORSO MOUNTED LASERS.
Obviously we can conclude from this evidence that the problem here is the Spider.

Then how come that when i hit a spider with a high dmg alpha or track them with arm mounted large lasers, alll the while getting hit indicators in the form of the reticule turning red, they only receive very little damage ?
How is it that hitting a Jenner, who is just as fast, with an AC20 or 2 PPCs will punch a whole through his armour and damage internals, but hitting a Spider the same way will result in minimal damage ?
Maybe im ignorant and totaly unaware that there are glancing blows or splash damage on ACs and PPCs..but then again why didnt i ever notice it ? Because when i hit someone with these weapons, i damage only exactly the component that i hit and none other.
So why doesnt the spider take full damage ?
Why can i reliably hit all other small fast-moving targets with any weapon, but not the Spider ?
btw. some patches ago, hitting the Spider was no problem whatsoever...it took just as much effort (careful aim and predicting movement) as with any other fast mover... so dont tell people to l2p when it wasnt a problem before.
