The bleeding goes both ways. And from what I can tell, HG is no longer in any shape to keep up that battle either, what with their claims against Hasbro, the Japanese government saying that HG has no right to control the Macross IP anyway, and HG's misadventures in the real estate market (yes those are the same people), and their CEO's recent sentencing of tax fraud. They will kill themselves if they try to make a claim they can't support. So I say bring it.
I doubt PGI's investors are as excited to make a fight about it. MAD isn't exactly smart business practice. The only way it'll happen is if their bean counters are sure that selling a Macross Unseen pack will make so much money that they'll still be turning a profit w/the legal costs taken out as overhead.
Of course, the current Phoenix pack is potentially a backdor pilot for that. Gauge how much they make on the less popular Unseen and use that to make an estimate on whether risking a legal fight over the Macross mechs is worth it.
Hell, I'm surprised some sneaky ******* from marketing hasn't hit on adding a "legal fund for Macross Unseen" bar to the "loyalty" bit. That'd probably spike their sales a lot more than an extra $30 pack for more Dougram mechs.

if Mechs were anything more than fancy skins for ever the same weapon loadouts.
Mechlab, your big mistake, PGI.

Actually it was more of what consists of a 'night', to me that's 10+ games, not 4 or 5, but that's just semantics. Really 400K with mainly losses isn't too bad, I had 5/6 losses the other day and I don't think I hit 250K. The average seems to be a 1:1 win to loss with the current matchmaking set up so really I think you just had a bad night. With what you've said, you're on target for the average grind, with around a mean of a 100K a match. AFAIK anyway. That's about the standard about FTP games too I think, I was playing LoL for about a year (which appears to be the premier FTP game) and that felt far more grind intensive to me (though the daily bonus was nice, I wouldn't mind a happy hour C-Bill bonus, like MAG, alongside the x2 XP bonus).

While I've been getting great LULZ out of the 3PV hyperventilation... No more money for you until I see some screen shots of what CW is going to look like... and I mean IN DEPTH screenies like you've done for UI 2.0.
And if I have to wait a few weeks before I decide to spend more money, then you'll have to wait a few weeks to find out if your going to get any more.
Anything else I have to say about PR and your LOVE of keeping features close to your vest so as to make people wonder if they're even going to be a reality has already been said.

What if I told you I'd be willing to buy the Talon tier if I could pick the chassis or that I would buy the Saber Reinforcement pack by itself if I could? For me it's not that I'm not willing to spend $20 here $30 there to get the things that I actually want. It's that at minimum I'd have to spend $40 to even get one of the Phoenix variants I do want and another $30 on top of that to get this.
I would actually like the paints and other bonuses. Previously I would have bought the Storm package if I could have picked the Battlemasters chassis in place of the Locust to get the Battlemasters and Shadowhawks. That would have gotten PGI $40USD. Now my choice would probably be the Talon package if I could pick the chassis to get the Battlemasters and along with the Saber Reinforcement package for a total of $50USD. It's precisely because you can't mix and match the chassis in each package that is keeping me from spending money on Project Phoenix.

You cant write a review without testing a release build.
You cannot sensibly contribute to metacritic (an aggregate views site) without being familiar to the developments after that.
You shouldnt judge a product by tertiary factors such as your view of its developer.
Basically, all you´re saying here is that you have an axe to grind, regardless of objectivity or truthfulness. I.E., you´re gonna spread "lies" yourself.
Anyway. The amount of unrelated accusations in this thread is mind-boggling. We´re still talking about the non-essential option to pre-buy mechs that you will be able to buy with CB anyway with a different look. There is no practical difference between offering those now, or later on as a hero mech.

I've been holding off on Project Phoenix, but the Wolverine and Griffin.... well played PGI, well played.
I am curious where the Giffin lost two tons? it is supposed to have 12 heatsinks.

See heres the thing. I wont play standard FTP games as i hate that grind. So i wont touch them. I was enjoying the cash levels in MWO as i thought i could progress at a reasonable speed and i didnt feel like it was a huge grind as other FTP games are.
Which to me ment the game was fun so i played longer meaning I might spend real money, but once the grind gets to bad ill just stop playing altogether. Balance issues are less likely to make a player like me stop than the game turning into a horrible grind. I Did buy phoenix before the cbill nerf. That's more than I've spent on any other FTP game. Ive played world of tanks and when i did the math on how much buying time on that game would lesson the grind I said nope and they will never see a penny.

Was it like
- Hey I got this great idea, people are buying this package like crazy lets do another one at once! We''l get rich!
Or maybe
- Hey I got this great idea, we can improve the game even more lets give our customers something that we think they will value a lot. A package that will commemorate the launch of the game
What do you all think?!?!
Russ was on NGNG months ago talking about how they were working to try and get the original 55-ton trio. This is something they've been trying to put out for a while, I don't think it has anything to do with the launch date.

I don't really know what the average is like in those games. I don't play them. It doesn't really matter to me. My point is that I'm spending money on the game (which is supposed to be how you circumvent the grind) and it still feels like a grind when it didn't used to. That really kills the incentive to continue spending money.
That said, this has gone rather off thread topic, and I apologize for that.

Someday baby, you wont worry my life.
Anyways, back in Closed beta I argued on your behalf for calm, understanding, and for people to read your design pillars and all of your stickies when you where tweaking the costs of repairs and earnings in closed beta, when the forum erupted.
When people demanded the heads of anyone who dared group and you told them that you had proof that it wasnt actually a problem, I was right there with you.
When you caved to that vocal minority, I frowned but stuck with it.
When you dumped RnR from the game, split the queues, and added ECM creating an unbalanced clustercluck, I was dismayed but I worked through it.
When you announced consumables, I was upset yet happy with the end result, as they were not nearly as useful as first thought.
When you talked about your plans for 3pv, and how you would not implement it unless you could do it without giving anyone an unfair advantage, I was hesitant but accepted it. The seperate queues would be a death knell for this game anyways.
When you released 3pv with all of the problems we warned you against, that was it. When you derided us and called us a vocal minority and not your target demographic, That was it.
Until I am your target demographic, you are not getting my money. As for the rest of you - the vocal minority who defends PGI - keep your snark to yourself. I was just like you, and soon you will be just like me. Not the target demographic.
