If the game was in a better state I'd be excited. Instead, I'm just a little saddened. I just realized even adding two of my favorite mechs into MW:O aren't enough to get me to want to play again.

Same here.

On the one hand my inner mechwarrior says "DO WANT!!"
But on the other hand.. no, I'm not going to spend another cent on this game until the devs get their act together and start to handle this in a professional way. Ah well, maybe this is actually considered 'professional' by modern standards?
Ok, then let me say 'in a decent way'. You don't have to do it like some of the bad examples in the gaming industry *cough* EA *cough*. You could, you know, treat your customers with respect and kindness, and not take every negative word personal.

Right now it seems to me they let the CM/PR guys do the (sweet-)talking, but internally they're more like "we don't give a damn about our players. they're annoying and ungrateful, they don't properly acknowledge our awesomeness, but luckily they're stupid enough to buy anyting we throw at them. hey community guy! you do the talking! we're through."

Not quite the kind of business that receives money from me. Yeah, I'm saddened, too.

I don't understand all the bitching about "too many medium mechs". To me mediums are the backbone of every force. They are the hurricanes of a battle of britain and the Pz IVs of a Operation Citadel. It just doesn't appear believeable to me if everyone runs around in an assault mech so more variety that you might see more mediums on the field is always welcome to me. They are also far from weak. They simply force players to play more tactical.

When is the deadline for buying the upgrade?

Do we have a deadline? I am assuming it ends when the main phoenix mechs are released in october, personally. But would be nice to have a date.

It's a pretty nice package, I guess. But as I haven't bought any phoenix package (those mechs don't appeal to me) the saber is not available to me.

The Wolverine is ugly as hell but the Griffin looks very nice.

There are two things I don't understand, or rather would have done differently if I were in your seat.

Firstly, why launch two mediums, let alone two 55-tonners, at the same time? It's not like the mediums are not well represented in this game already. Don't get mer wrong, I am all for this game incorporating as many mechs as possible, buit maybe spread them out, tonnage wise.

Secondly, as you are releasing the Griffin (which I applaud), why not include the ECM variant (GRF-2N, I think)? We could really need an ECM capable mech between 40 and 100 tons.

I believe these are the only two unseen mechs left that are not from macross or quads.

May I suggest that before PGI goes on creating new Project Phoenix mechs they might take a little time to finish the Founders mech paint job makeovers that they seemed to have forgotten about halfway through the process. That would be nice.

Why would they? That money is in the bank already... :D

I will say right now the Griffin's hard point selection is poor since all its weapons are stacked on the right side. So the AMS beacon will telegraph the side you should shoot at. So at some point to maximize sales you will see 1 of the laser hard-points moved to the left torso or left arm to balance things out a bit. They did that with the Battlemaster before it was going to be a laser boat.

People keep buying their **** and at the same time they wonder why we still don't have a lobby system, proper game modes, weapon balance and/or community warfare.

I realize there's issues, and I love to gripe as a paying customer.

However, I fully support the phoenix Project, and the Saber Reinforcement. Its one of the better ideas they've had. Don't miss out on some classic Battlemech's. Its the same as pre ordering a e-book for a Nook or book pad. If you think about it your getting 3-12 mechs in October and 6 more mechs in December. It took me as a founder close to a whole year to get 22 mechs. For 100 bucks your getting 18 mechs in a 3 month period of time. You be just about board with the 12 phoenix mechs when the Saber mechs show up. Yes that puts me at 40 mechs.

Give us the Marauder II or Marauder. I will gladly spend more money even after being lied at.

This is the problem, distract with shiny objects while they keep lying to us

I support more Medium Mech Madness. Just recently ordered the add-on for Project Pheonix. More diversity in Medium Mechs will encourage players to play smaller, more tactical machines instead of min/maxing armor or speed. And yes, the Griffin looks pretty gnarly (one of the few Star League era Mechs to follow Kerensky into Exile, too).

You must be dreaming. Users who prefer high efficiency builds aren't going to suddenly stop min/maxing because a couple mediums are available.

The only way PGI can encourage players to play "smaller" more "tactical" (slower) machines rather than kitting out a Mech is by introducing other game modes; Namely limited customization or stock modes. I only see that happening if a Lobby is introduced where players create a lobby, people join it, and the lobby creator filters what players can bring to a match.

It's a double edged sword isn't it?

On one hand, you are giving them more money which could be seen as reinforcing approval for how the game has developed so far.

On the other hand, if they get NO money, how do they even continue to develop the game?

So, give them $30 MORE dollars and we might see the lobby and community warfare sooner rather than later..........or, give them no money and be assured we will NEVER see those things.

To me the question comes down to am I ready to just have this game disappear? Am I done playing it and have better things to do? Because that is the risk. It is a very real possibility that everyone stops spending money, they launch to a lukewarm reception with several features missing, and in 6 months to a year the place is boarded up and listed for lease.

I'm not there yet.

Here's my $30 dollars, give me community warfare soon please. More maps yes, but community warfare first.

Thank you,

If they made a real apologize, listened us about separate queues, instead of made my Project Phoenix refund, I and many others would buy Overlord Pack + Sabre Pack.

If they would humble enough to listen us, talk to us and ask help to community about player retention flux, we would promptly spread the world on gaming forums about the game, call friends to play, we would do our best to help.

For the case you're serious, just click up aabove on "Game", then upper right side "Download now". Installing, log in with your forum nick and password, patch, start playing.

Separate queues bad. Wait times bad. Splitting the community bad.

3PV is pretty useless as it is now anyway, so why even bother wanting a separate queue? "3PV gives a devestating advantage, OHES NOES WE MUST SEPARATE THE QUEUES AND THE COMMUNITY SO ONLY 3PV PEOPLE WILL PLAY WITH 3PV PEOPLE BECAUSE 3PV BROKE THE GAME OHES NOES!" Yeah, sure it did, thats why no one uses it right? I mean, if something is sooooooooooooooooo game breaking, everyone would be taking advantage of it, and since everyone I drop with does not use it (I drop with a lot of different people) it must not be all that great.

Oh, wait, we have the same 10 people flooding all the forums saying it's OP and baaaaaaaaad, and game breaking, so I should listen to those people instead of seeing how useful it is in the game for myself, and observing my teamates and enemies who DON'T use it! Because obviously a handful of people are more right than the even bigger handful of people I drop with/see in game.

Give it a rest, 3PV is borked, and next to useless. No need to split a queue over something useless. I mean hey, if you want your wait times increased, by all means, keep fighting the good fight for separate queues! I'll just be here telling you you are WRONG.
