I find all these cries of "YOU NERFED GAUSS OMG GG FAIL PGI !*&£^!" to be rather amusing.

I see a speed buff to the projectile itself and a HP buff to the item and the introduction of a mechanic that simply means *Insert shock reaction here* you have to think about your ability to snipe with it. You know, being a sniping weapon.. needing to think about that.

Shocking, I know.

The new hero mech looks great, I like how the Orion model has turned out in game. The CN9A c build looks good, wish it was purchaseable a week ago when I bought a CN9A for cbills :wub:

Nice to see the srm balancing and hope the ppc / gaus changes have the desired effect.

Tutorial looks promising too.

Overall thumbs up, looking forward to the patch on the 17th hoping for UI 2.0

I wish they would stop doing this 'preorder' {Scrap} with the MC first.
It feels disgustingly money grubbing. It feels like we're being slapped in the face. I can't be the only one who feels this way. Come on. That is REALLY ******* me off and I'm sure others as well. STOP. DOING. THIS.

Anyway, I'm still not playing much until we hear community warfare details. That will be the real big one folks.

It's smart marketing. You just have to wait a week or two. You want it fast? You pay. You don't want to grind as much? Pay for premium and get a hero mech. It's the same concept.

Actually, it makes perfect sense and isn't money grubbing at all. Buy it, don't, whatever... if you're geeked on (insert chassis here) you'll shell out the money, if not, you can wait until the CBill version comes out.

Much ado over nothing.

This is cool, just skip the PPC altogether and use ER PPC for sniping. Sniping is still possible with ER PPC, just a bit less often but anyway. And you can ever brawl with them, as they're effective under 90m. But for PPC, there are better builds to brawl than using this. I have never ever understood, why ER PPC is effective under 90m if normal PPC is not - ER is supposed to come from Extra Range, not from All Possible Ranges

Need to change my signature to explain ghost heat :-p. Heat and ghost heat address very different issues, as does recycle time.
Recycle affects dps. (Burst).
Heat affects sustained dps.
Ghost heat affects alpha size. Staggering two weapons (groups) 0.5 seconds apart affects accuracy.
Convergence is not sufficient. Because you can macro shots to negate convergence.

What I like about ghost heat is that it preserves choice. You can fire an unusually large clumped alpha at the cost of burst and sustained dps.

The only problem with ghost heat is that it is not communicated in game.
And that's where my feeling of "it's a good patch but" comes from. With NO real info on UI 2.0 or CW available, launch could be a disaster...

But, like the sledgehammer nerfs, all I have are guesses and fears right now.
I.e. 4 simultaneous nerfs to one gameplay type might be way too much.
Maybe.

Also, uac 5 probably needs an rof nerf or ac 10 needs an rof buff.
And large lasers and er large lasers need a safe heat cap of 3, not too!
I'm looking at you assaults wih triple energy locations!

Overall good patch.
But mediocre last patch to be tessted before launch.

That's not why they were bad. Buffing heat doesn't make it easier to hit anything. The heat alone made both the PPC and ER PPC liabilities to take to the battlefield, and it wasn't just lack of HSR. There's quite a huge difference between waiting 3-5 seconds to cool down for SRMs and waiting 5-10 seconds to cool down for PPCs and ER PPCs. I didn't think I'd have to explain that difference.
