Good job guys. It's not mind blowing, but it's worth owning now, definitely a step in the right direction. and the zoom behind it is a nice touch.
I actually like the new gauss system, sounds cool and puts an element of skill into the weapon. I give this a thumbs up.
Heat on PPCs seems about right.
Meta-humpers beware, you'll actually have to work at being a sniper now.

It feels disgustingly money grubbing. It feels like we're being slapped in the face. I can't be the only one who feels this way. Come on. That is REALLY ******* me off and I'm sure others as well. STOP. DOING. THIS.
You mean a for-profit company is trying to make money? Heavens-to-Betsy Martha wake the kids and get your hat, we have to get out of here!
Really, you know you could just wait the week or two and buy the normal variants for CBills right? No one is really going to come out to your house and "slap you in the face" while you're waiting.
Anyways, overall this is a good patch. I'll have to try out the Gauss changes, but I appreciate the PPC fixes and all the other things in the patch. These are the kind of aggressive changes that they should have been testing out months ago, but I'm glad that they are starting to make real changes to the game.

Two weeks guys. That's all that is left. In my opinion, you should have been making these changes LAST MONTH. It's a little late in the game for big swings at balance. Oh well, thanks for doing... something though.

-srm reload times...+1
-gauss is not broke. it's not a difficult mechanic to get used to but you can't time it with anything else...still viable as a snipe weapon or brawling even.
-tutorial is movement only but it serves its purpose.
-no noticeable difference in ppc's except regulars do nothing under 90m as stated.
overall what I've seen I like so far. But i'll let the masters truly test it out. gonna be a lot of loadout swaps probably though!
***not sure if they changed the gauss reload time but it could probably be sped up a bit. Still like it as a main weapon while I close with stuff.

This patch just killed the (ER) PPC:
- Bump of base heat for both PPCs
- reduction of projectile speed
- PPC damage under 90m has been reduced to 0
You effectively reversed every buff for PPCs since closed beta
PPCs are back to closed beta levels aka. ERs are unusable and standard are actually even worse now with the removal of damage below 90m
The balance wasn't far off prior to this patch, a little buff for brawling and then sniping as well as brawling would have been equally viable.
Instead you decided to kill sniping and make brawling the way to play.
I don't understand why you are not aiming at making both playstyles viable at the same time. If you in fact did aim for that, then you failed horribly - again.
You don't hit a waepon system with 3 big nerfs in one patch guys, you just don't.
When people asked for more frequent game balance changes, gradual & small adjustments where meant, not the biggest sledgehammer you could possibly come up with.
As much as I love your name, and have enjoyed playing with you in the past.
The problem with your post is simple. Everyone was sniping. There was no real brawling. If you weren't sniping, you were cannon fodder. Oh, excuse me. PPC+Gauss fodder.
With this massive nerfbat to the face, it forces people to actually rely on skill now in a drop to actually do damage. It forces them into an actual engagement, not just sit back and **** with two clicks. It also, hopefully, ensures the variety of builds on the field will now be more diverse than before. Again, hopefully.
So I for one have had a wee bit of faith restored in PGI with this great step forward. Hopefully this will be the beginning of the death of the Meta garbage that has been plaguing this potentially great game.
Not too shabby PGI, not too shabby.

QQing about weapons balancing is the same as QQing about certain mechs not being viable for your gameplay. As an example... a player is a brawler and thinks the Awesome is super cool! The player wants to turn the Awesome into a brawler even though it is the size of a barn wide. They fail making it a brawler for obvious reasons. They run to the Devs QQing about the size of its torsi and hitboxes even though it is the size of a barn wide. Even though the Awesome is a support/standoff mech.
In the end, mechs/weapons fill certain roles and rarely are you able to deviate from those roles. Not every mech/weapon is viable for what you want it to do. L2P There is plenty of research material to learn the roles of mechs and the uses of weapons. What everything really boils down to is most players do not know the basics of military tactics (i.e. using cover, taking ground, dynamically entering into an area, formations,etc.). All the QQing is going to turn this game into Hawken. Go play Hawken if you want arcade-style, NASCAR-esque robots. Since it is moving in that direction I guess we should embrace it... not so much.
