Been considering a Heavy and the Orion is a favorite from TT when me and friends had a merc outfit using one. Quickly made up these.

Trollrion-K, may try the Marauder type too.
Trollrion-M
Trollrion-V
Trollrion-V 2.0 because I wanted to see how a pair of big energy would work.
Trollrion-VA

You have a few interesting builds (I might try a few), but there is one problem I see. While consolidating all your ammo to one torso, is an efficient use of case, when you loose that torso, and you will, you loose all your ammo with it. Therefore the loss of your left torso will result in the loss of everything except the lasers in your right arm. put some AC/5 ammo in your legs and CT and these builds become quite lovely.

What about this? I'm thinking of buying either an ON1-V or a DD-C but I'm so tempted to save for the orion first Then work towards a ddc

@Alianton: I think you have too much ammo and that the ammo is placed dangerously. Also I would allocate more armor to the front torso.

If using a 300STD. I would go

AC-10(30 rounds) + 2x LLAS + 3x SRM4

or

AC-10 + 2x mlas + some LRM setup.

Its hard to make bad Orion, just throw random parts into it until you find something that works.

I just got the Orion K, and am using it stock for now, planning to ditch the LRMs and replace with MLs so that I am more middle range. Maybe add in a few HS's... kinda fun, the AC10

That's too much work...to grind up the cbills, use TAG+3 ALRM15+LL. 1800 missiles.

What about this for a Korion build? my current build is basically stock but without the SRMs, I added 2 normal heat sinks and another ton of AC ammo, but I'm kinda tempted to go to This if I can afford it...

Three approaches come to mind to improve that build: One approach is to drop the LT LRM ammo for a extra heat sink, another is to drop two medium lasers and upgrade to Artemis IV FCS instead.

The third option is to downgrade the autocannon for either a UAC5+Artemis+1HS OR a AC5+Artemis+1HS+more ammo (or 2xCASE).

The Orion suffers from a large center torso hitbox better known as "WTF!" syndrome . If you are going to use an Orion, make sure you use weapons that compliment each other in range and performance. For instance, this ON1-VA uses 2 PPC's, a UAC/5, and 4 Streak 2's. The PPC's and UAC/5 let the Orion fulfill it's support role from a safe distance. The PPC's can also briefly drop ECM to allow for swatting of pesky light mechs with the 4 Streak 2's. If the streak missles aren't your thing you can always trade for standard SRMS's or LRM's. In the end it's all about your play style.

Still, i Love it. that AC packs a punch and so does the LRM after people have gone in and shot away people's AMS and ECMs hahaha. though yeah that hitbox for CT is bigger than at atlas. i don't mean bigger than an atlas' CT but bigger than the whole damned atlas -.- wonder why i bother twisting the torso lol

1x Gauss, 2x LLs, 2x MLs, 1x AMS, 5 Tons Gauss Ammo, 5 DHS, close to stock armor. Excellent precision damage and well-suited to most combat situations. Good fire support. Fast. If you want to poke-snipe from either side of cover, it's advisable to move both the LLas to the left side. If you wish to have a high alpha and a disposable arm, keep it the way I've set it up. This is a pretty effective build and I've seen it fielded multiple times.
ON1-K "Defender"

Another 1x Gauss Build, XL340 Engine
2x MLs, 1x ERLL, 2x SRM6, 3 Tons Gauss Ammo, 1x AMS, 1 Ton AMS Ammo, 3 DHS, high speed, good for sniper support for a majority of the battle. SRMs are only used when enemy has low armor. Can brawl, but positioning and team is important. Torso twisting is a must, but large engine makes this a very responsive mech.
PROTECTOR "Eviscerator"

This is a walking shotgun. Make sure you're not rushing head-in to your death. You can trade the high speed for durability by dropping down to a STD 315 and swapping the large lasers for medium lasers while maintaining the same ammo cap and other weapons.
ON1-V "Disemboweler"

The large CT means that you can run an XL in the thing, it's just a bit riskier. I like bringing lots of firepower to bear quickly and don't like slow movement associated with a less powerful engine.

Vas, why split the lasers? is it so you can concentrate the fire from the right torso? (the ON1-K build)

I've been using this ON1-M build for the last month which I call the "Swiss Knife" and it's pretty fun and effective. Here we go:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f540be456586683

So 300STD, 2xML, LL, 3xStreaks and an LBX10. This guy covers pretty much every range, but the beast mode activates under 270m. It can brawl, return fire at long range with LL(well technically with LBX too), function as a light-swatter and probably a few more. The best thing about this is the cooling efficiency and damage pumping potential of the LBX+3xStreak combo gives you.

The worst thing is, you have to control 4 weapon groups at the same time. One for each arm and two more for LBX and streaks. You'll probably never let go of streak button so it might be technically 3

How's this for a cheapish LRMboat/C bill farming build?

http://www.mechspecs...g44562#msg44562

Also is that how you use CASE? I really don't know O.o

CASE is kind of derpy, think of it as creating a barrier on whatever side torso you put it into that will prevent explosions from transfering that side from going into your CT.

IE lets say you have ammo in your left torso and that side gets attacked and the ammo explodes for whatever reason, the explosion will destroy that side torso and whatever damage is left over transfers to your CT but if you have CASE in your left torso and the ammo gets destroy only your left torso will blow up and the damage left over from the ammo explosion wont transfer to your CT. However putting CASE in the left torso obviously wont protect ammo explosions from the right side.

Why can't it be the Fluffy Bunny protector? Huh?

Ground a bunch of C-Bills with this one the last few days, top kills in one game is 6 last night.

Ask and thou shall receive....

FLUFFY HAMSTER ON1-K

and btw, the reason I put some ammo in the arms, is I rarely ever lose an arm, always a torso and people think that will wreck my XL engine, which of course I don't have.
