There was a patch note from PGI a while back that Fast Fire actually did the opposite of what it was suppose to do.
It actually slowed down the fire rate of before they fixed it.

Fast Fire is apparently one of the causes of AC2 ghost so, that why they increased the cool down of AC2s.

Up until the AC/2 "nerf" to 0.52, where they cut it off as otherwise it would trigger AC/2 penalties even when chain firing normally.

Even with the increased cooldown rate, with fast fire it'd still be faster than 0.5 seconds, resulting in ghost heat penalties regardless. Thus it was disabled.

You are referring to Fast Fire or AC2 Ghost heat ?
Either way must have been obscure buff like the SSRM super easy mode wide relock.

Both.

Fast fire worked until the 0.52 AC/2 "nerf", as with fast fire it'd still fire too fast. Ever since it's been cut off. Ask Jazz he's got the macro, the tests, etc., even a video I believe, where he shows it isn't working. And gave his reasoning which essentially tied to the AC/2 ghost heat penalties.

Have no idea how that relates to streaks.

No real relation to Streaks... Other than unannounced "TWEAKS"...
Haiz... Been really bored recently... Where is DX11 at least ?!?!??!

Pinpoint fell into the yawning chasm between Ambition and Capability, never to be heard of again.

Now we have only ghost unlocks, to remind us of its passing.

In the past PGI discussed having what in essence amounted to a "lock time" to get all weapons concentrated perfectly under the reticule.

They have since decided (as far as I know) that they are not going to do this.

I suspect the thing you are asking about here is related.

Okay the first five post was getting on point, but soon it got off topic as to what this thread is asking. As a alpha tester, convergence was very weird. Sometime you twist so fast when firing ballistics on both right and left side of your body, it will move like a cross in your screen. Another example is when your all ballistics are firing a light mech in front of you powered down, you will see a whole bunch of bullets fly pass the mech's body and through their legs hitting the ground instead. It took time for the weapons to concentrate onto one point even though both crosshairs are aligned. As of today it is removed due to it being......weird, and presenting.....insta convergence. Maybe that's why you see laser shots curving...........derp derp derp, get my drift?

You weren't trolled. It's literally just a slot for you to dump your XP into to 'pass go.' Once upon a time, PGI said it was going to actually do something. Then they said it was going to be replaced by something else.

These days they just ignore questions about it.

Hello from 2017 where I'd like to tell everyone's 2012-13 self that we still have a completely useless "Pinpoint" skill whose tooltip still refers to meaningless Weapon Convergence Speed. /sigh

While true, February or March is to bring us a completely new skill tree.

February definitely for public testing of it.

The stray shot that goes just passed me with a wide spread and then all the lasers tighten to a small spot as I run past.

If I were you I'd just stop listening to everyone here on the forums , they all know exactly how this game works and they know,everything there is to know about how pgi made this game ....

Do your self a favor and just keep grinding away at it ... speed tweak and extra module slot
