i don't like how its sorted by weight class and then by alphabetical.

the way we have it now is better imo. Sorted by tonnage and then alphabetical

Does that Pretty Baby look nicer/more crisp than usual or is it just me?

Wasn't it said that the part of UI 2 we'll see first is the "improved" store front? Not impressed, just a sorting method and new mech purchase layout. Should have taken a more insightful screen shot of where the sale banners will be located and what else those do the store. Personally I would like to see the layout for the CW and whatever form of lobby plugins, even just a work-in progress layout. This we have known this layout from the mockup they showed back since what, spring?

menus menus menus.

Could have a bit more character and theme to make it actually immersive with the universe.

i think this is mechlab though. it just includes all the mechs you can buy. i'm sure there will be a filter to only show owned mechs.

i hope the game remembers my filter options. I'd hate to have to reclick the filter every time i want to mess with a mech i own

Ah...sorting options maybe? Not seeing them unless they're in filters but those would be nice. As would a uniform visual for all of the mechs. Right now (and here) they just look like random renders from random angles. Maybe something like the original Mechcommander or something but it just looks like the Centurion's image compared to say, the Jenner, is unintentional.

Also kind of miss the orange... like being able to see more mechs at a time though.

As long as there is a "strip all" button i'll be happy. Nothing is more annoying than trying to flick through 60+ mechs to find that oooooone engine size, or that oooooone module.

Their can be a strip all button but it had better have child safe locks on it. Some of us keep our full mechlab in ready to go condition.

Take a close looks folks, there is a Compare option in the upper right, an option for each chassis type and then a filter option above the chassis in the middle upper left.

Thus far it looks like they are sticking to what was shown in the concepts for this in terms of more intuitive UI for the Mech Lab.

Also, looks like there are list and thumbnail (shown) display options right under the filter options.

I'm really looking forward to the new UI. Getting pretty sick of UI 1.5.

The loading times are wayyyyy to slow for me to deal with that. If i went through to make every mech in ready to launch order, i would spend at least 3 hours with the little loading/saving thing on my client. I don't know why, but as soon as i hit 50 mechs my load-times tripled, if not quadrupled for any changes i make in the mechlab, or just loading into it at all.

It better not be.

In fact, for a UI to take this long it should shoot pyrotechnics in my face and stroke me off in addition to being utterly flawless.

But hey, PGI has always delivered, right?

UI 2.0 must be able to have stuff "plugged in" to it, like CW and lobbies and private matches as well as any future "modules" they want to add in. I bet the UI we are using now was designed to perform exactly what it does now and not much more and they realized that it needed to be completely reworked to behave completely different from what this one does if they wanted to do CW right and leave the option for plenty of expansion down the road. I hope they get it completed soon, though because it could actually be good if they can pull it off.
