Love to see people flinging hate already because of one screenshot before UI 2.0 is even out. My judgement will be reserved until I get to use it.

It is better than what we have, but it still looks like {Scrap}. Honestly. Think about all the other UIs you see in other games and then wonder to yourself why this one looks like it was done in dreamweaver like 10 years ago.
Srsly, it is nice we are finally getting a functional UI, but do not celebrate it like it is some beautiful piece of artwork.
It looks terrible.

Build me a UI in Cryengine using scaleform that integrates with a server and possible large metagame like CW in 3 months in working condition and I'll believe you.
1. It's not his job to create the UI. It's PGI's job. The, "Why don't you become a dev and do better," argument is infantile.
2. They've had way longer than three months to work on it.

I agree that it looks better. I'm definitely not celebrating it either. You can't judge a User Interface by one screenshot. I want to Use the Interface before I form any sort of opinion. For all I know, it could be clunky, slow, and frustrating as hell. With as long as it's taken them to get this worked out, my expectations are not very high at all.

The truly important thing is the features that UI 2.0 open up for ourselves and PGI to implement the new features we have all been waiting for.
Until then, keep crying children!

Aww man that almost hurts. Would be great to have something like this in MW. I mean MW has the better graphics and gameplay but sheesh this looks good.
I really am hoping MW has something even better than this at some point.

an extended version of the UI we have now would have worked better,
this seems like going from Windows XP to Windows 7 and then getting hit with a "driver error, cannot find native resolution"

Not one more dime, PGI, not one more dime until you deliver the game you promised.

When this game went to Open Beta, PGI was warned the game wasn't ready for Open Beta. We were told not to worry, all those missing features would be added during Open Beta in prep for Launch! Nerfing units in drops? No worries! SOON we'd get CW and units with full in-game unit support! Awesome, right? Many of us were skeptical, but hey, we gave 'em the benefit of the doubt.
But here we are. A year later, and what we have is barely, and I mean BARELY anything more than a slightly more functional version of what went to Open Beta A YEAR AGO. We have some more 'Mechs, but no new weapons, and most of the new features have been spectacular fails. Forgive me if I doubt that these guys have it in them to deliver anything of any quality. Strike that. I think their art guys are good. The game looks good. The 'Mech designs are great. There, I said something nice.
Well, at least the white knights can't use the worn out "it's Beta" excuse.
